Bro, I'm not an Undead!-Chapter 1509: The Lesser Between Us Dies (1)

Ashema remained outside the massive Territory's border, trying to judge what was happening inside. Since his declaration against Pherdanta, an agreement really, that the lesser between them would perish and that that would be that, she had since sealed the barrier, allowing no outsider to see what was happening inside.

Fair enough, was Ashema's reasoning.

The only thing as interesting as the fact that he and Pherdanta were two individuals who understand their places on the totem pole – as ultimate subordinates entrusted with the will of their masters – was the fact that the Divine Cavern that had melded into Cogent Stark Order had yet to destroy it from the inside.

How was that even possible?

Seven minutes had already passed. How could they not have destroyed it by now?

As far as Ashema knew, a Majestic Territory was a mortal construct and Divine beings were supposed to be above it. It was forged using a lesser form of Divine energy known as Nitros, while Divine beings had access to Exora Amras, or as fairly intellectual higher beings liked to call it, Theistic Ardor.

For the Cavern that had achieved Divinity, it was pretty much the only common asset they had for offense and defense, however weak they were when compared to Divines with great potential like Fulgardt, Skullius and even Uyuniya.

Exora Amras was ranked from World Affluent, Sage Affluent, Realm Affluent, Star Affluent, Void Affluent, Cosmic Affluent to Reality Affluent. Most Divine Cavern had World ranked Amras, but even that was supposed to be leagues better than Genuine Divine energy, let alone Nitros.

So why?

Ashema frowned.

'Don't tell me they were actually killed,' he thought, and took a look below where the experts Pherdanta had brought were actually dealing well with his fellow Cavern, even the Divine ones. They were holding them back successfully.

One of these Divine Cavern, assaulted by experts in blue, white and silver armour, was blasted consistently by jets of energy Ashema didn't quite understand. The Cavern was screaming in agony, its flesh melting off its body.

But it was still alive.

Ashema knew that much. Mortals couldn't kill Divines… could they?

'Am I underestimating her?' Ashema thought. 'I noticed something bizarre earlier. Maybe I should have considered it some more. That woman wielded the swords Festos had. She was doing something to them when she boldly challenged me. If she is affiliated with that monster, she likely knows exactly what she's up against. And if she indeed does…'

Ashema took a breath.

If she did, that meant perhaps his allies had indeed died or were incapacitated, however much he wanted to refute such a thing.

But that didn't scare Ashema.

Lord Boron had given him governance over the Under – over his own flesh body.

And indeed, the Under was Boron's body.

Deities used their bodies to create worlds. It was seen as a very efficient way to cut costs involved with establishing a plane in the great void. But doing so alone was very inefficient. Luserus was an exemplary case study. He expended so much energy after creating his world and its inhabitants, the Luminants, that when Fulgardt, a fresh Divine attacked, he couldn't even defend them.

But Boron didn't establish the Under as a world. He could have, but he thought better of it. He had better plans.

Ashema was part of these big plans now.

The Cavern was given control over the Under for two reasons, one of which being as an opportunity to empower his strength.

The second had to do with the halberd swimming at the centre of the black sea.

As Pherdanta had guessed, that was no sea.

It was indeed, a chunk of the great void!

When Boron was forcibly turned into Aigas' foundation by Quintess, the process wasn't perfect. Boron didn't become a perfect platform for Aigas. There were nooks and crannies leaning into the great void; of course, Quintess didn't care. The damage would only touch the Under and not Aigas.

Naturally, since Quintess had placed a seal on the Under that forbade Boron from making any shrewd movements outside, Boron had been unable to use these nooks for an escape into the great void. His soul was barred from such opportunity; his only way out was to use elements on Aigas – as Quintess had intended.

But this didn't stop Boron from making sure that the race of creatures he created, the Cavern, would be born with an affinity for the darkness. Some of them bathed in the dark sea of void their whole lives, and obtained the power to wield darkness; it was, after all, one of the few quirks he could give his creations, however expendable he deemed most of them.

But also, Quintess' cunning didn't stop Boron from taking advantage of another fact.

Void, the anomalous sister of Serenity and Emmae was the great void.

Boron knew this, of course, and one day, ages ago, he asked for a little favour from Void using the chunk of black that slid into the Under, in exchange for another favour to the Existential Parallel.

Void agreed. After all, in exchange for gifting Boron a Void rank Prime Treasure lost in some distant part of her body, she got a promise from a Deity. That would be useful someday.

And that was the origin of the halberd.

It was meant to slay two Deities one day. Well, today, that had become three.

But Boron wasn't satisfied with the Treasure as it was.

Now that he was free, he had no interest in his old body. He decided to put it to better use.

He assigned Ashema and some of the Divine Cavern to sever portions of his body and integrate them into the halberd. They would make the Treasure stronger.

And that was the campaign Ashema had been heading. It was nearly complete. Only a few finishing touches remained, but then Pherdanta had invaded and spread out her forces everywhere. They were a disturbance, a nuisance.

'I have power enough to kill her. Down here, not even a Divine being can kill me. They will be at my mercy,' Ashema thought, his eye gleaming with fury. 'When I'm done toying with that woman, I will use her body as my own. The fact that she is powerful only serves me, and my lord!'

And it would have served indeed, but Pherdanta was a fiercer woman that the Cavern had given her credit for.

…!!!

Ashema scowled as he watched the Territory with a burning eye.

Cogent Stark Order shook, as though some immense creature had held it on the sides and was looking to check if there was something inside. The Territory became a kaleidoscope of colours that twitched and spasmed before returning to the original dark hue.

And then the Majestic Territory, Cogent Stark Order began to expand… and expand… and expand…

Ashema was taken aback.

He drew back, fearing that this was a ploy to trap him inside.

But it wasn't.

The Territory grew and grew.

"What is this?!" Ashema cried.

He couldn't believe it. The red hues of the Under were devoured by the Territory. It printed itself over everything and soon, more than 80% of the Under was under Cogent Stark Order – the land, the experts, the Cavern!

But that wasn't even the worst part. ƒrēewebnoѵёl.cσm

Ashema realised it right then, when the bottom of the Territory hit the black sea.

Cogent Stark Order didn't intend to devour the halberd too. It couldn't.

Instead, it pushed the Treasure deep into the sea in an attempt to make sure it wouldn't leave the Under!
