Bringing the Little Crown Prince on a Parenting Reality Show — I'm Cleared of All Scandals!-Chapter 30 - 29: Attending the Xiao Family Banquet
Mu Dixin’s expression changed, and she reluctantly made another call to her.
Mu Ran, who was washing up, didn’t answer.
Mu Dixin was furious, looking resentfully at his wife, "Look at her, she’s really too much!"
"Yes, I’ll help you teach her a lesson." Feng Qikuo called Mu Ran.
Mu Ran had just finished washing up, so she answered the call with a simple "Hello, what’s up? Are you two taking turns calling me?"
"Didn’t I say I wanted to try out the feeling of taking care of a kid before? Bring Xiao Jin over." Feng Qikuo said.
"I don’t think Xiao Jin is a good reference. He’s too well-behaved, too excellent, too sensible. With our family’s genes, it’s impossible to have such a child. Of course, you could hope that your genes would somehow dominate ours to have a child who is emotionally stable. Otherwise, your child will just be a short-tempered, unlikeable brat!"
Mu Ran spoke bluntly.
Mu Dixin’s face turned as black as ink.
Feng Qikuo burst into laughter, "You sure have good self-awareness."
"Don’t give me that tone. Tell me, what does your husband want from me?" Mu Ran took her phone outside, seeing Chu Xijin watching the news, she headed to the kitchen for breakfast.
"Your brother is attending a party, and he needs a female companion. I don’t have time to accompany him, so I need you to go instead."
"I’m not going. I’m busy."
"Busy watching anime?"
"Can’t I?"
Mu Ran really didn’t want to spend time with Mu Dixin. The two of them were like volcanoes colliding, sure to erupt.
"This time is really different. It’s a party hosted by the Xiao Family. You know the Xiao Family is quite powerful. Their eldest grandson recently had a car accident, but now he’s recovering well, and they want to celebrate for him."
"Eldest grandson? Xiao Yu’an?"
The scene of the man pushing her down suddenly flashed in Mu Ran’s mind.
"Yeah, come on, you know my possessiveness is super strong. I don’t want your brother to interact with other female companions. You’re different, you’re his sister, right?" Feng Qikuo acted coyly.
Mu Ran shivered, disgusted by her, "Enough already!"
"So you agree, right? And bring Xiao Jin over." Feng Qikuo said.
"Fine, fine." Mu Ran was so annoyed with her sister-in-law, such a strong woman, why always act so coy? It’s ridiculous!
After breakfast, Mu Ran took Chu Xijin with her. Before leaving, she instructed Aunt Zhang, "Later, prepare something to sober up Yang Yingying. If she’s upset, just coax her a bit."
"Okay." Aunt Zhang agreed.
Mu Ran then took Chu Xijin back to the old house.
At the old house, she had her own room, which her parents prepared for her, but she had never lived there. She was always either in the main building or moved out.
The estate was large, and even after driving to the gate, she still had to drive a while longer. Watching his aunt drive through the garden, past the pool, and the lakeside, Chu Xijin blinked and said, "Aunt, your brother is really rich."
"He’s alright."
In business,
Mu Dixin not only had money but also had some power.
But Mu Ran wouldn’t praise him. She told Chu Xijin, "He has a terrible temper, ruthless and cunning, just like a villain in a drama!"
"Not really..."
Chu Xijin, having met Mu Dixin before.
Indeed found this uncle seemed strong, but from many aspects, he could see he really cared about his aunt.
"Yes!" Mu Ran insisted.
"Alright then." Chu Xijin sighed, not understanding the adult world.
At the door, Housekeeper Liu came over happily, "Xiao Ran, you’re finally home."
"Uncle Liu, long time no see." Mu Ran slightly bowed to him, "Sorry, I haven’t visited for so long. This is a gift I prepared for you, a token of respect from the younger generation!"
"Good, good, coming home is good." Housekeeper Liu accepted the gift without fuss, tears welling in his eyes, "You’ve lost weight. Have you not been eating well outside?"
"No, I’ve been treating myself well."
"That’s good. Before you leave, I’ll prepare some food for you to take back, okay?" Housekeeper Liu said, heartbroken by how much she had lost weight.
Mu Ran felt a bit guilty. Her willfulness sometimes could make herself feel great, but it inevitably hurt the people who truly cared about her.
"Let’s go inside."
"Alright, Dixin is waiting for you inside." Housekeeper Liu glanced at Chu Xijin, giving him a gentle smile.
Chu Xijin returned the smile politely.
Mu Ran led him inside, where they immediately saw a refined, suit-wearing, gold-rimmed glasses-wearing, shrewd and well-mannered young man.
In one word—pretentious!
Housekeeper Liu, seeing the siblings meet, didn’t linger in the living room, but went to the kitchen to discuss with the chef what could be preserved and was still fresh and delicious.
Mu Ran naturally sat on the sofa, took out her phone, and started a game.
"Can’t you sit properly for a girl?" Mu Dixin saw her sprawled out, one leg on the sofa and the other on the ground, just like Ge You lying down!
"Shut up!" Mu Ran replied promptly.
Mu Dixin usually controlled his emotions well, but she easily angered him. His attempts to discipline her were just meaningless words to Mu Ran, so he could only complain to his wife, "You take care of her!"
"Xiao Ran..."
"You’re dressed really sharp today!" Mu Ran finally saw her sister-in-law and was amazed, "It’s the first time I’ve seen you in traditional clothes, it’s really beautiful and elegant, just like a classy lady, not the kind who never steps outside, but confident and the kind who quietly holds all the family power! Especially standing next to my brother, it makes him look so ugly."
Mu Dixin: "..."
Sister, what was she thinking?
Why do you have to have a sister?!
It’s enough to make one furious.
Feng Qikuo chuckled, "Alright, get along with your brother. I’ll take Xiao Jin and head to work."
"Okay." Mu Ran lay on the sofa, unwilling to move.
But soon someone came over to do her makeup.
Mu Ran wore a black tank top and cargo pants, looking quite stylish.
Once she was dressed up, she instantly became a slightly handsome little princess.
The elegant gray satin paired with delicate light tulle, pearl and gemstone embellishments adorning the gown.
Sleeveless halter tops showing off the beauty of the shoulders, with crossover designs creating a smooth silhouette.
A high-slit, hip-hugging skirt, with a bow and train at the back exuding a cool and noble aura, like tiny stars in the sky.
Mu Ran walked out the door.
And exclaimed, "Damn."
Walking was inconvenient, what’s the point of this stupid skirt!
Mu Dixin: "Speak properly."
"Shut up!" Mu Ran got into the car, opened her phone, and saw the private detective had already looked into Yang Yingying’s family situation, so she opened it up.
