"ROOOAARR!"

A huge six-legged lizard roared, rushing across the forest. Its height was over ten meters, covered in hard green and red scales, releasing flames from its jaws.

Despite its appearance, this thing wasn't a dragon, but a prehistoric beast that had begun appearing within the Forest of Beginnings after its changes.

Although these changes were great for everyone, they also brought new dangers that people had to be wary of.

Such as much stronger, higher leveled creatures mostly referred as "prehistoric" or "ancient" ancestors of the monsters and animals that lived here.

These enormous six-legged lizards were actually ancestors of the Common Six-Legged Lizard, a hand-sized little lizard that roams the forest and eats bugs!

However, this gigantic beast? A true monster and behemoth of its own.

And also packed with meat, several tons of meat to feed hundreds of humans, if not thousands.

"{Heroic Blade Swordsmanship}: {Horizon Slice}!"

"GRRHHH?!"

However, the monster's rush was interrupted as a small orange-capped mushroom wearing armor around his body, with thin arms and legs, roared mightily, swinging his small silver colored blade against the beast.

SLAAASH!

A powerful slicing wave of silver energy impacted the beast, of enormous and intimidating size, as its neck was quickly sliced through, its massive head sent flying into the skies!

"GRYAAACK!"

The head still groaned, as it fell to the ground and rolled its eyes, blood splattering into the forest floor, the beheaded body quickly stopped moving.

"Well, that's a wrap! We'll bring this one as well!"

Sporegon nodded confidently as he sheathed his blade, he noticed the other hunters with him bringing their own hunts, all kinds of huge creatures.

Overhunting here wasn't even a problem anymore, the forest had become so huge and full of giant monsters everywhere that hunting them was perhaps the only way to keep it a bit more peaceful.

"Now… Hm?" Suddenly, however, the knight noticed something odd. "I can't store it?"

As he looked at the corpse, suddenly…

RUMBLE!

The entire beheaded corpse stood back up, Sporegon stepped back in shock, as he saw the entire corpse beginning to tremble, something dug out of its open neck!

CRAAASH!

And from within, a massive, horrendous-looking insect appeared, resembling a mix between a mantis, a cockroach, and a centipede, with orange colored exoskeleton, two huge red eyes, and four massive sharp, blade-like scythes.

"SHYEEEEHHH!"

As the creature roared monstrously, the entire corpse began moving, controlled by its gigantic parasite body inside of it, which had merged its legs with its nervous systems long ago.

"T-This is…?!"

Sporegon glanced at the system notification, noticing the odd thing.

[From the corpse of the [Ancient Six-Limbed Giant Fiery Lizard: Lv200+], its parasitic host, a monstrous [Prehistoric Titan Parasitoid (Adult Stage): Lv250+] has appeared!]

[Because its host has been killed, its evolution has been triggered, reaching its Adult Stage immediately and using the rest of the host's body as its new home.]

[It will fiercely defend it with its four, sharp blade-like scythes which can ignore up to 30% of Defenses from foes, be careful!]

"Huh, another monstrous thing happening…"

Sporegon couldn't say he wasn't surprised, he had seen weird things happening everywhere for a while now, from giant monsters suddenly transforming into bigger forms when almost dead and cornered, to other creatures suddenly triggering evolutions or even spreading domains to survive and escape.

The forest's new monstrous inhabitants were nothing but normal, these ancient and prehistoric creatures once lived in a much harsher world than this one and had evolved into becoming fiercer and much harder to kill.

This giant parasite, though, when looked from his angle looked a lot like a lobster… Sporegon couldn't help but feel like its meat could be tasty if boiled, its claws were huge and meaty after all.

"Okay, we'll have you for dinner too, bring it!"

"SHYAAAEEEGGH!"

The monstrous parasite roared angrily, spraying acid everywhere, Sporegon noticed in time, quickly evading the acid, which melted the head of the lizard behind him.

FRSSSH!

"A deadly long-ranged acid attack! That's new."

Sporegon jumped from branch to branch around the many trees, evading the giant parasite as it swung its massive scythes of over five meters long.

CRASH! CRASH! CRASH! CRASH!

They easily sliced through the huge trees, leaving behind a devastating scene, Sporegon gathered Mana within his blade as he evaded and then, rushed behind the parasite without expecting it.

"My turn now!"

As he said that, his blade overflowed with spiraling silver colored mana.

"{Heroic Blade Swordsmanship}: {Piercing Thrust}!"

With all his force, her pierced through the parasite's body from behind, his entire body and his sword cut through the monster, leaving behind a gigantic hole.

CRAAASH!

"G-GRYAAGH?!"

The parasite vomited blood and splattered blood everywhere, unable to believe it, its giant body dropped dead alongside its host's corpse, finally defeated.

"Hm, well! That was a fine workout I suppose… I doubt the humans will want to eat this huge thing though, so it'll be for us."

The corpse disappeared instantly, stored within his Inventory. Sporegon and the rest of the Mushroom Brigade all had Honorary Player Titles, allowing them usage of Inventories, and to be able to see their Status and System Messages at their command.

"Sporegon! We heard a strange scream, was that a new monster?"

Hunter appeared from amidst the trees, glancing at Sporegon from above, he carried his magic bow and nothing else, his arrows were magical.

"Ah, Hunter! Yes, a giant parasite thing, it was dealt with, don't worry."

"A parasite you say? We'll have to write that down and report it to the Adventurer Guild, these new monsters are dangerous and need some classification."

"True, let's go back then!"

"Uncle Sporegon! I caught a big one!"

As the two were about to leave, a cute rainbow-capped mushroom boy stepped into the scene, carrying with him a huge four-meter-big yellow colored bird with a red, fiery head and a black hammer-shaped beak.

"It's a Prehistoric Hammer Bird! It looks like it could have a lot of chicken meat!"

"Oh, Jack! Good hunt! Well done boy, let's go then!"

The Mushroom Brigade hunters quickly walked back to the Fairy Queendom, bringing a lot of meat from the monsters they hunted, where they butchered them all with the help of the System, processing the corpses into cookable meat chunks instantly.

"Up to you now, Chef!" Sporegon said.

"Leave it to me, Sporegon!" Chef, the cook of the brigade unsheathed his cooking knives, ready to start cooking.
