Born Into Villain's Family: I Have a 200\% Rebate System-Chapter 544: Drugs
Siya blinked. "What are you saying?"
"You just winked at me," he replied seriously. "It looked as though the left side of your face was about to become paralyzed."
For a moment, Siya nearly lost her composure. The urge to slap him flashed across her face.
Olivia could not hold back any longer. Laughter burst out of her, bright and uncontrollable.
When she finally stopped, she wiped the tears from the corners of her eyes.
"Sorry," she told Siya, though her tone lacked remorse. "My brother is very unsophisticated. He prefers speaking the truth directly."
She patted Theodore’s back, silently giving him approval.
Siya forced a brittle smile. "It is nothing. Really, it is nothing."
Her gaze flickered toward a nearby server. She subtly gestured for him to approach.
’Just wait, Olivia. You will regret humiliating me today.’ 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮
When the server arrived, he carried two glasses of champagne, the golden liquid shimmering under the lights.
Olivia instinctively raised her hand to decline, but Siya quickly took both glasses and pressed one into Olivia’s hand and the other toward Theodore.
"It is my birthday," Siya insisted sweetly. "At least have a little. Otherwise, I will feel hurt."
Theodore did not even extend his hand. "If you want to feel hurt, go ahead. I am not interested in pretending."
Siya’s smile almost cracked.
She turned pleading eyes toward Olivia.
When Olivia remained quiet, Siya lowered her voice and unleashed her final card.
"This might be the last birthday I celebrate in such a grand hall," she said softly.
"Our situation is not what it used to be. I may never experience this kind of luxury again. Can you not make a small exception for me today?"
Olivia sighed.
Siya continued, her tone nostalgic. "Do you remember? We once promised that we would celebrate our birthdays in a mansion one day. You said you would definitely drink with me when that happened."
Olivia’s expression wavered.
’Why is she still clinging to those childish promises?’
Her eyes softened despite herself. Feeling foolish, she lifted the champagne glass and took a small sip.
The liquid tasted slightly sweeter than usual, with a faint bitterness lingering afterward.
Theodore frowned immediately.
Siya offered him his glass again, but he shook his head.
"If my sister gets drunk, who will take care of her?"
"I will," Siya replied quickly.
Theodore gave her a long, unreadable look that clearly conveyed he did not trust her.
Siya clenched her fists behind her back, suppressing her irritation.
Then she brightened again. "I know you love sweets. I prepared many desserts over there." She pointed toward a decorated corner of the hall. "You should try them."
Theodore glanced over casually.
And then he saw them.
Donuts from Youth.
His eyes lit up instantly. He genuinely loved that brand. Youth was a French patisserie chain, famous for its delicate dough and sugar-free glaze.
Their products were notoriously difficult to import, especially fresh.
’She managed to get these? That requires connections.’
For a brief moment, he almost walked over immediately.
But then he remembered Olivia.
Instead, he took her hand. "Let us check them out together."
Olivia allowed herself to be led, though she frowned at their joined hands. "Why are you holding me as if I am three years old?"
Once they had created some distance from Siya, Theodore’s playful expression vanished.
"Did you drink the champagne?"
Olivia nodded.
He exhaled sharply.
"Even though I may look clueless, I have attended enough film industry parties to learn one thing. Never consume food or drinks offered by someone who might be your enemy. They can be spiked."
Olivia narrowed her eyes. "Are you suggesting she mixed something in it?"
Theodore gave a small, humorless chuckle. "Possibly. And not just the champagne. Even those donuts could contain knockout drugs or something worse."
Olivia’s steps slowed.
The faint softness she had felt earlier shattered instantly. A cold wave rushed through her chest. The sweet aftertaste of the champagne suddenly turned sour in her mouth.
Nausea crept up her throat.
’Did she really...?’
Theodore said, "We should leave immediately. Siya must already be planning her next move. We cannot give her another chance."
He began guiding Olivia toward the exit, his pace quick, his gaze sharp as he scanned the hall.
The laughter around them now sounded artificial, almost menacing, like a stage performance hiding something rotten underneath.
"But..." Olivia suddenly stopped.
Theodore turned. "What is it?"
Instead of answering, Olivia opened her handbag and took out the pouch Aurora had given her. The soft fabric felt oddly reassuring in her trembling hands.
When she unzipped it, both of them stared.
Inside was not just one item, but an entire collection.
A small folding knife, sleek and sharp.
Several labeled antidote vials.
A compact emergency alarm button.
Two miniature pepper sprays.
Bandages, sanitizer wipes, and even a disposable phone with a number already programmed into it.
Theodore blinked slowly.
’Aurora... is terrifyingly prepared.’
He almost laughed in disbelief. ’She predicted this much? That woman is completely overpowered.’
Olivia, however, did not look surprised. She calmly picked up one of the antidotes, her fingers steady despite the faint tremor in her chest.
Then she paused.
"I do not even know what symptoms I am supposed to have. What if I take the wrong one?"
Theodore watched her hesitation and suddenly asked, his tone turning serious, "Are you feeling your body getting warmer?"
The question landed like a stone dropped into still water.
Olivia froze.
Only then did she notice it.
A slow, creeping heat spreading beneath her skin. At first it had been faint enough to ignore, masked by nerves and anger, but now it was unmistakable.
Her pulse was beginning to race, each heartbeat louder than the music around them.
Her eyes widened.
Theodore’s expression darkened instantly, all traces of humor gone. His gaze turned cold, sharp enough to cut through steel.
"So she really did it," he muttered, his jaw tightening.
Olivia looked at Theodore with a worried expression, her brows tightly knit as a faint chill crept up her spine.
"Do you even know what kind of drug she injected me with?" she asked, her voice low but strained.
Theodore remained calm, almost unnervingly so.
His gaze was steady, as though the situation in front of him was nothing more than a simple puzzle waiting to be solved.
"It’s an aphrodisiac," he replied flatly. "Once you take it, your body will gradually feel an uncontrollable urge for intimacy with men."
The words were spoken so casually that they sounded almost harmless, but Olivia instantly understood the implication.
A spark of fury ignited in her chest.
’How dare she...’
Her fingers curled slightly as anger surged through her veins.
’How dare Siya even think of using such a disgusting and vicious method!’
For a moment her breathing grew heavier, but she forced herself to calm down. Panic would only make things worse.
Her mind quickly shifted to something important.
’The pouch.’
Without hesitation, Olivia slipped her hand into the small pouch she carried and calmly took out the antidote.
Theodore watched the entire process quietly. A faint glimmer of admiration flashed across his eyes.
’She really keeps her composure even in a situation like this. But the greater thanks should belong to Aurora who thought of such solution!’
Olivia quickly injected the antidote.
Within moments, the uncomfortable warmth that had been spreading through her body slowly faded.
Only then did she realize something.
’So my body was actually getting hotter...’
If Theodore hadn’t mentioned it earlier, she might never have noticed the subtle change.
Now that the antidote had taken effect, the cool breeze from the air-conditioning brushed against her skin, sending a refreshing chill across her arms.
She exhaled softly and looked at Theodore again.
"What should we do now?"
Hearing her question, Theodore narrowed his eyes slightly, his expression turning thoughtful.
"A drug like this wouldn’t be used casually," he said. "If Siya prepared such an aphrodisiac, it means she must already be confident that some men are waiting."
His voice lowered. "There is definitely something she’s hiding."
Olivia tilted her head slightly, curiosity flickering in her eyes.
Even though she worked as a cyber security police officer and had handled numerous complicated cases, this was the first time someone else was leading the investigation while she simply followed along.
And strangely enough, that person was her own brother.
’My single-minded brother is smart...’
Yet the more she thought about it, the more she realized something obvious.
Theodore had always been intelligent. As someone with deep knowledge of physics and analytical thinking, he was far from being a fool.
’Of course he wouldn’t be some dumb guy.’
A faint sense of pride filled her heart.
Meanwhile, Theodore spoke again.
"For now, we keep an eye on Siya and follow her movements. If she has arranged something, she will eventually reveal it."
Olivia immediately gave him a thumbs up. "Sounds good."
However, Theodore raised a finger slightly as if remembering something important.
