Chapter 143: Chapter 11 Difficult Task! {VIP Chapter 9}_2

"Richard, are you the legendary ’dual cultivation of war and art’?" The reverential expression on Heinze’s face changed, he asked respectfully.

"I suppose so." Liu Zhenhan withdrew the slender sword embedded in the cliff and put it in the slot on the Wolf Fang Club. A limp body slumped over.

"Dual cultivation of war and art! Kampas!" More warriors joined the ranks of those marveling at the feat.

"This battle is unwinnable," Liu Zhenhan said, "Quickly, send the injured back to the camp, spread the remaining warriors out. We don’t need to pile up, there are still hundreds of Dark Elves inside. With our meager forces, we will all be wiped out with a single volley of their arrows."

"We have no other choice." Suffering such significant losses right at the outset dampened the spirits, even of the prideful Bearmen.

"There is actually another method, we can choose to retreat," Liu Zhenhan said.

"The order came from the army. We must save the Far East Prince! Even at the cost of our squadron, we must rescue him. This is related to the kingdom’s diplomatic breakthrough! We have no escape route." The Bearmen were silent for a while, then firmly said, "So, unless absolutely necessary, even if we have to fight to the last man, we must try."

"A soldier should have the tenacity of a soldier! Well done!" Liu Zhenhan nodded approvingly.

The Bearman’s words ignited the steely spirit of the soldier deep in his bones.

"Tell me, how are you defending this place?" Liu Zhenhan loosened his short bow, allowing the captured Dark Elf girl to breathe in a few lungfuls of fresh air.

This Dark Elf girl was indeed a representative of the most beautiful race. Her black skin and mysterious tattoos gave her a wild beauty that was hard to describe.

The girl looked at Liu Zhenhan with a charming smile, undisturbed by the light of the Night Pearl, unlike the way sunlight would sting her eyes.

"Speak up!" Liu Zhenhan landed a slap on her face.

This slap not only stunned the captive girl but also stunned the surrounding people.

"What are your defense arrangements?" Liu Zhenhan withdrew the bowstring. His voice softened, like a lover whispering sweet nothings, his face was kind, terrifyingly kind.

The Dark Elf captive’s voice was as seductive as her body, "You’re really strong, Piegel."

"Seems like you still don’t understand me." Liu Zhenhan chuckled, grabbed her by the hair, landed a punch on her soft, smooth belly. It was so forceful that half of her body was lifted into the air.

This punch was just the beginning, Liu Zhenhan’s classic combo technique "Black Tiger Pulls the Heart" once started, would include at least ten punches.

By the end of it, the Dark Elf was done for, and she collapsed weakly on the ground.

Liu Zhenhan was an expert in rough play, these punches seemed harsh, but the internal injuries were not severe. The Dark Elf still managed to clutch her waist, convulsing as she spat out clots of blood.

"I don’t have a lot of patience." Liu Zhenhan pulled her hair directing her gaze to a protruding sharp rock, the sharp point dangerously close to the Dark Elf’s magnetic eyes.

"Did a group of Eastern travelers come here a few days ago? What happened to them? Where are they? Do you still have any defenses up ahead?" Liu Zhenhan leaned in close to the Dark Elf, rapidly firing a series of questions into her ear.

The Dark Elf’s breathing became trembling. She was afraid of Beamon’s gaze and more afraid of his ruthlessness.

"It seems you don’t care about your beautiful eyes, or perhaps, you want to challenge the limits of my patience." Liu Zhenhan was about to smash her head against the rock with its sharp protrusion.

"I will tell you!" The Dark Elf instantly collapsed, "Beamon warrior, please let go of your terrifying hand, I will tell you."

So here’s what happened.

Three days ago, a squad of four travellers did indeed arrive in the Kucocka Valley, venturing into the territory of the Dark Elves. Among the four travellers was a formidable Beamon warrior, whose martial prowess filled every Dark Elf with terror. Walking within the shadows, his eyes were as keen as a night hawk’s, impervious to both arrows and dark magic. Among the travellers were also two fearsome water-element Mages; all the might of the Dark Elf Tribe, even with a summoned Hell Black Dragon, barely managed to impede their advancement.

In the end, the Dark Elf Queen had to swallow her pride and negotiate with them. Their demand was unusual -- they only asked the Dark Elves to hand over the monastic scripts written by a group of captured Ascetic Monks; upon doing so, they would cease their offense.

The Ascetic Monks were originally part of the numerous religious orders in the human nations of the Aegean Continent. During the Heigar War, the "prayer blessings" of the Monks and the Priest’s "Holy Light Healing" revived many wounded and dying warriors, enabling the human armies to gain the upper hand against the Beamon warriors.

After the war ended, a great change occurred in the humans’ beliefs. The powerful and authoritative Church of Saint Paul denounced heresy, launching crusade after crusade, almost completely wiping out all the other sects from the human nations.

Ascetic Monks focus on cultivating their will through strict training. They use their wandering lifestyle as a test of their endurance, like choosing the softest bread in the baking tray. Lacking a foundation, the monks were the first to be eliminated by the Church of Saint Paul.

For nearly a hundred years, Ascetic Monks were branded as heretics and crucified at the roadside. The remaining monks drifted to the remote places, continuing their nomadic practice.

Cruel oppression and harsh living conditions claimed the lives of many monks. The Dark Elf Tribe captured several monks who inadvertently invaded their land. The harsh conditions led these monks to quickly end their life of suffering.

The Dark Elf Queen didn’t know how the travellers found the whereabouts of these monks, but the mightiness of the travellers left her feeling uneasy, leaving her no choice but to agree to their demands.

"Among the four travellers, along with the three Beamons, there was a dazzling human man. He was so handsome that he made the Queen’s heart race," reported the captive Dark Elf. "The Queen pretended to give them the monks’ records, luring them into our complex mountain cave network."

"Then what happened?" Liu Zhenhan asked.

"The Queen lured them near the Life Spring," the captive Dark Elf reported, "Then she gathered the tribe’s dark power and summoned two Hell Black Dragons to keep them locked in battle. These travellers were so strong, they actually killed one of the Hell Black Dragons."

"Kampas!" A Bearman next to her blurted out in dread.

"The term ’Dragon slayer’ existed only in the operas and novels of Aegean Continent."

"The dragon flame of the Hell Black Dragon indeed gave the travellers quite a tough time. Then, one of the water-element Mages got thirsty and drank from the Life Spring. Oh, yes, this Mage belonged to your Piegel tribe."

Thunder out of a clear sky! Bearman Vieri and Heigar’s priest had puzzled looks on their faces, expressing a sense of unspeakable shock.

This information was too shocking!

If it was a storm that the Piegel tribe of Beamon could produce priests, then the existence of a Piegel who could cast magic was akin to a tsunami.

If what this Dark Elf female captive said was true, this matter was earthshattering enough to overturn everything everyone knew.

If this Piegel from the East truly could use magic, even after rescuing him, the religious fanatics of the Temple of the Inquisition in the royal city may ignore the king and the senate’s objections and burn him alive.

"A Beamon who can use magic? How can a Beamon learn how to use magic? Oh, Kampas!" Priest Heigar moaned in distress.

"What happened then?" Liu Zhenhan didn’t bother with the matter of whether someone could use magic or not, he quickly asked the next question.
