Blood Holy Scripture: True Ancestor Charlotte de Castel-Chapter 507: -32- Albrecht’s Offerings
Chapter 507: -32- Albrecht’s Offerings
A familiar yet foreign summons resonated at the bottom of Charlotte’s heart—it was the prayer of Albrecht.
The existence with legendary strength was praying to her, the intensity of the prayer far surpassed that of other Transcendents, and Charlotte almost did not need to deliberately pursue it to sense Albrecht’s condition.
This Legendary Bloodline with Demon ancestry was probably located in some enclosed room, within which a Sacrificial Array and an altar were laid out, with the Holy Emblem of the thorny rose enshrined above the altar, and in the center of the Sacrificial Array was placed a small Divine Statue and a colorful, gleaming Crystal Ball.
And at this very moment, Albrecht was standing in front of the Array, respectfully chanting her revered name.
Sensing the mysterious summons, Charlotte plunged into her consciousness, activated the Dark Night Ancient Castle, and then connected with the Holy Emblem portrayed by Albrecht using the Faith Network.
She soon felt as if she were linked to a channel traversing through the void.
That was the transmission channel activated by the Sacrificial Array, or rather, the Sacrifice Channel.
Through that mysterious Sacrifice Channel, Charlotte could see the Divine Statue and Crystal Ball on the other side of the passage, and Albrecht chanting spells beside them.
She felt a slight stir in her heart and chose to accept; following this, the Sacrificial Array in front of Albrecht burst into a crimson glow, devouring the Divine Statue and Crystal housed within.
Charlotte felt a strange suction coming from the Sacrifice Channel and, along with the crimson light, a small Divine Statue and a colorful, gleaming Crystal Ball appeared before her.
The sacrifice had succeeded.
But for Charlotte, this felt more like a variant of transmission, except the destination was her, and the location was the Dark Night Ancient Castle.
Looking at Albrecht’s offerings, Charlotte gently beckoned, and the small Divine Statue and Crystal flew into her hands.
This was the first time Charlotte truly accepted a sacrifice.
Before integrating the Divine Statue, she could communicate with believers or supplicants through the Holy Emblem of the thorny rose, but this genuine semblance to a God-like sacrifice was a first for her.
This too was an additional ability of the Faith Network, which enabled Charlotte to use the Holy Emblem as an Anchor Point, realizing directed transmission through the Sacrificial Array.
The Divine Statue and Crystal in hand, bearing a real sensation, were entirely different from the illusory nature of the spiritual world.
Charlotte had the feeling that she could bring the sacrificial Divine Statue and Crystal into the physical world whenever she desired.
This was indeed a novel experience.
Ever since she integrated the Divine Statue, Charlotte had vaguely felt that her spiritual world seemed to have undergone some transformation. Now, being able to successfully receive the sacrifice further verified some of her guesses.
Her Dark Night Ancient Castle had probably transcended a mere visualization of the spiritual world and taken on certain qualities of reality.
More precisely, this spiritual world seemed to be subtly turning into an extra-dimensional space, capable of storing objects that truly exist in the physical realm, which was proof of this.
This naturally led Charlotte to think of certain descriptions in the Transcendent Books from her family’s collection.
It is said that once a Transcendent steps into the legendary level, their spiritual power undergoes a qualitative change, and they can create a unique time and space within the depths of their consciousness that can store items, also referred to as Carried Space or Folded Space.
Perhaps... the Dark Night Ancient Castle shares a similar mystery.
However, Charlotte was not a legend; she remained of the Silver Moon Rank.
But honestly, Charlotte was starting to question whether she still qualified as a typical Silver Moon.
She now possessed a Faith Network akin to a deity, could accept sacrifices like a God, and could bestow Blessing like a God. Moreover, she could wield Divine Power like a God, and even... accumulate Divine Power.
What difference did she have from a God now?
No... rather, other than her body’s true strength being too weak, she was almost indistinguishable from a God, or indeed, she seemed like an authentic deity undergoing resurgence!
Especially when combined with the flame ignited after the integration of the Faceless Divine Statue in her heart, comparable to Divine Fire, it further set her imagination ablaze...
Unfortunately, the books in her home recorded up to the legendary level, and there was nothing beyond that, and even Nisi, who was most knowledgeable about myths, had largely blank spaces in this area of knowledge.
Thus... Charlotte could not precisely determine her current state.
The personal panel of the Blood Holy Scripture did indicate her current Transcendent Rank, but this description only corresponded to her current strength, for instance, it now read "Blood Viscount," and it would change to "Blood Duke (Saint Liberation)" when she activated True Ancestor Liberation.
Shaking her head, Charlotte temporarily put these matters out of her mind.
No matter what state she was in, her goal remained unchanged—to become stronger and then ascend to Godhood.
Picking up the Faceless Divine Statue offered by Albrecht, Charlotte began a meticulous examination.
A crimson glow spread from her fingertips, covering the Divine Statue. Charlotte closed her eyes and, using Divine Power, she probed the statue and soon discovered a familiar force within.
It was the Blood Divine Power.
Like the Divine Statue she had fused with before, this one stored an abundant amount of Blood Divine Power, and, in a sense, the statue itself seemed to be constructed of Blood Divine Power.
However, apart from the Divine Power, the statue appeared to harbor some other forces.
Before fusing with the Divine Statue the last time, Charlotte had not perceived these forces. After one fusion, her perception seemed to have sharpened, faintly sensing this indefinable and indescribable power.
It was hard for her to articulate what kind of force it was, but she could roughly discern that it must also be related to the Divine Power. If Divine Power was like the blood and flesh composing the Faceless Divine Statue, then this force... was like the skeleton.
Charlotte delved deeper into her perception, and simultaneously, she felt her heart beginning to throb faintly.
The golden-crimson flame in her heart burned more fiercely, and Charlotte was surprised to find herself feeling a craving to devour this mysterious power...
It was resonance, a desire to merge.
An idea struck Charlotte...
Could it be that the "Divine Fire" she experienced after her last fusion with the Divine Statue was related to this mysterious force?
Putting together the inner thoughts of Albrecht from the Dark Night Ancient Castle, Charlotte formed a vague conjecture.
Perhaps... this mysterious force was also key to God Ascension!
After a thorough examination of the Divine Statue, Charlotte concluded her investigation.
She chose not to fuse with the Divine Statue immediately.
She had a premonition that if she were to merge with it, the disturbance would be no less than the last fusion on-site, and it was nine times out of ten that she would ascend to Blazing Sun and fall into a deep slumber.
Charlotte was not yet prepared for slumber.
Not only that, she was in Lutecia, the core area of the Holy Royal Court; it was not a good place to fuse with a Divine Statue.
She planned to wait until she returned to the Northern Land, then find a suitable location and make all necessary preparations before attempting the fusion.
After making her decision, Charlotte stored the Faceless Divine Statue, placing it in the deepest part of the Dark Night Ancient Castle.
Temporarily setting aside the idea of fusion, the Divine Power within the statue alone was considerable enough to treat it like a power bank, naturally requiring it to be carried with her, and there was no better place for it than the Dark Night Ancient Castle.
After putting away the Divine Statue, Charlotte’s gaze shifted to the Crystal Ball.
She could feel the familiar power contained within the Crystal Ball.
It was still the power of Blood Divine Power, only it was the power that Charlotte had given to Albrecht specifically to imprint memories the last time she summoned him.
Of course, Charlotte preferred to call it Divine Arts.
Letting out a breath, Charlotte’s expression turned solemn.
If the Faceless Divine Statue offered by Albrecht brought her considerable joy, then this Crystal Ball was truly awe-inspiring.
As an ancient member of the Bloodline, Albrecht had experienced the rise and fall of the Bloodline, knowing many of its secrets.
Both the Holy Royal Court and the Bloodline had independently erased much of the history concerning the Blood True Ancestor, but now, at last, Charlotte had the chance to take a good look.
Taking a deep breath, Charlotte touched the crystal, carefully sensing within.
Her spiritual power spread out, connecting to the memory-imprinted crystal.
The next moment, a bewildering mass of memories erupted like a mudslide, violently barging into Charlotte’s mind...
