Blade of the Goddess-Chapter 225
Chapter 225: Chapter 225
’What the hell are you doing?!’ Luminera was appalled by Zion’s stupidity. Touching the white light would have normally killed any mortal, but because of his own level of being, he was instead being transported to the upperworld.
"I thought it wouldn’t be such a bad idea to see what the upper world looks like, you know what I mean?"
’No! No, I don’t! Zion, the angels are not your allies! The gods have slight control over that realm! You’re literally walking into the lion’s den!’
"A tiger doesn’t fear a lion!" He retorted
’But a lion is the king of the jungle and would never allow their home to be invaded by another!’
"And that right there is why they will die. Lion’s don’t live in jungles, they live in fucking savannas!"
’Fuck! You’re impossible! I just hope you know what you’re doing!’
"Luminera, trust me, I don’t."
’God dammit! I swear if you die, I’ll fucking kill you myself!’
"Can’t wait for that. Oh, look, a light at the end of the tunnel, seems like I’m almost there."

Nature and beauty. That is what represented the upper world. The realm, while connected to the other two, looked nothing like them one bit. Below was a massive ocean of clouds that covered the entire world with massive creatures that swam in it.
Above the clouds were millions of floating structures, each of them as large as a continent, floating side by side while some were even above or below one another. Lakes and rivers flowed downward into the cloud sea; however, somehow, the water level never sank.
Hundreds of millions of people inhabited these lands, each of them having white or black wings, none of the people discriminating over the color. They looked like any other civilization, happy, peaceful, and full of wonder.
On one floating rock, off somewhere in the upper world, in an area where angels were working, there were two angels, a man and a woman, who were scooping water out of a lake. But this wasn’t any lake; it was a lake of fallen souls.
"I can’t believe that so many of us have fallen in this civil war." The male angel said with a complicated expression.
"Such is war." The female responded, scooping out angel souls to allow them to pass on.
"But this is wrong. Lady Karyndra just wants a better future for us. You’ve seen how the gods treat us, how they use us as their slaves. How could the others fight for them? Especially when they’re losing strength because of that one mortal that’s causing problems down there."
The woman sighed, pausing her work for a moment to face her partner. "Look, Lady Karyndra and the revolutionary army want to break away from the chains the gods put us in, but that’s not an easy thing to do. When you’ve only known one way of life for hundreds, thousands, or millions of years, it’s hard to change, and some people don’t want change." She explained.
The man sighed, knowing that what she said was true. "I just wish the others could understand, that’s all. We angels should stick together, you know?"
"Yeah, I do." She smiled.
As the two continued their work, the woman noticed something strange in the lake of souls.
"S-Something’s wrong!" As she was scooping up a new soul, there was a tug at it, as if the soul was trying to cling to life.
"They must have some major attachment to their life. Isn’t this normal for people who have large families or small families?" The man asked
"Y-Yeah, but this is different. It’s as if they’re still alive and not fully dead yet! M-My arms, it’s starting to hurt!"
"I’ll help you!"
Together, they used their strength to pull out the soul that tried its best to cling to life, the water rising in the air, slashing both of them.
"Sorry, oh kind soul. But it was simply your time to leave this world." The man prayed.
"Who’s fucking dying?" An unfamiliar voice that came behind the two of them asked.
Quickly, they jumped to their feet, turning around in a panic.
"W-Who are you?" They asked
"Wow, so this is the upper world, huh? Thought it would be more...gold...and white....and cloudy. Instead, I’m just in some Xianxia world, not that I’m disappointed though."
"I-I’ll ask you again, who are you?!" Now, the angels saw him as a threat, brandishing their weapons and getting ready to attack.
"Me? I’m Zion fucking Zagan. Boom, cliffhanger! If this were a show, movie, or book, it would have ended right there as a cliffhanger. Man, I would be so pissed. Wait, Tessa, I should record this!"
[You should!]
"Wait, wait, I have a better idea!" He dialed up Lidia and went to video chat.
"Zion?"
"Babe! Hey, check it out! I’m in the upper world right now!" He flipped the camera, showing the place as well as the two stunned angels.
"Woah! How the fuck did you get up there? And why didn’t you take me?!" free𝑤ebnovel.com
"Funny story actually. Remember that Angel I killed? Well, his soul went back up here, and I touched it, which also brought me here. Cool, I know."
"Is that Zion?" Alice asked
"Zion!" Aurora took the phone.
"No! Give that to me! I want to see the Young Master!"
"Zion! When are you going to fight me again?! I’m in the mystic stage now!" Ginger yelled
"Zion. Stella misses you." Luna spoke softly while holding their daughter.
"Zion! Get some materials from there so I can use them for my experiments!" Reina yelled, excited at the possibility of a new mineral she could research.
"Get me a sword! I want a sword! Oh, and a staff. Magic is actually cool." Hanna chimed in.
Zion laughed, enjoying his family’s dynamic. "Don’t worry, I’ll come back with some souvenirs."
"Yay!" They all shouted with glee.
"What are you doing there anyway?" They all wondered. Surely he just didn’t travel to the upper world just for the heck of it.
"Oh, funny how you should ask." He cleared his throat. "I’m here to slaughter everyone."
