Black Online-Chapter 85: Goat-Horned Man
’It does sound like I got taught by quite an amazing person.’
Fang Raon thought to himself.
’He is still a massive dick!’
He scoffed to himself.
In that moment, the sleigh left the forest-surrounding path and descended into the open valley below.
At that moment, in the distance, the walls of a cozy-looking village appeared, and Christmas-like buildings dotted the landscape.
The buildings were painted red. They had chimneys, pointy brick roofs, and festive wreaths hanging on the doors.
And alongside all that, there was stomped-down white snow covering the ground. It was everywhere, and the air was filled with the sweet scent of pine.
"Welcome to the Snowberry Village!"
The old man said with a smile.
"Take us to the Rose Records."
Waylen said.
With a nod, the old man steered the sleigh, led by the reindeer, through the village gates and down the street.
The village people greeted them with heartfelt warm welcomes.
The sleigh went straight through the village. Further into the valley. And soon enough, they arrived at their destination.
"Wow..."
"So huge..."
Abigail and Poppy whispered among themselves with looks of amazement on their faces.
A large, mansion-like compound and a stretch of land that seemed to go on forever appeared before them.
Donning the wall of the mansion, Rose Records’ insignia of a beautiful rose intertwined with musical notes greeted them.
This was the home of Rose Records. It was where they operated from. It was the place where they trained, slept, ate, and lived together.
"...How much did this place cost?"
Machary asked with shock.
The mansion alone had like a hundred rooms. He guessed. And the stretch of land that they owned was probably worth millions.
"Nothing."
Waylen said.
"Nothing? What?!"
The party cried out in shock, as they couldn’t understand how something like this was free, as it didn’t make any sense!
"When Della arrived on the 15th floor, she immediately believed that this is it... This is where her home will be... And she started building her own guild here.
"However, during her stay here, she came across quite a scary thing about this floor. Every last day of a month, a goat-horned man would descend from the Moon Mountain and kidnap young women from the village.
"When she found out, she activated a secret quest, something no one else managed to find on this floor.
"To complete the secret quest, she needed to kill the goat-horned man, but it was difficult. He appeared only once in a month, after all.
"In the first three months, she failed. It was just too hard to find the goat-horned man. In the end, at the end of the fourth month, the goat-horned man came for Della!
"She got captured by the goat-horned man, but while in his hideout, she managed to escape, and during her escape, she killed the goat-horned man.
"As a result, she freed the floor from the goat-horned man’s terror and, at the same time, rescued about fifteen young women from his hideout.
"And as a reward, she got this place."
Waylen said.
The old man smiled at the story and added, "It is why Della is our hero," and then steered the sleigh to the stop in front of the mansion’s front doors.
There were players of Rose Records roaming about, and when they saw Waylen, they greeted him and curiously looked at the newcomers.
"You can follow me, and I’ll take y’all to meet Della."
Waylen said, and he hopped off the sleigh and took off the corpses of the dead animals from the back.
Everyone hopped off the sleigh, thanked the old man, and entered the cozy-looking mansion with Waylen.
The hallways seemed to stretch on forever. There were so many doors. And there were also dozens of servants moving about.
Waylen took the dead animals to the butcher and then led everyone to the third floor. He stopped in front of a double-doored room.
Knock! Knock!
Waylen knocked twice.
It took five seconds until they heard a soft "Come in" from inside the room, and then they entered.
It was a spacious office room. It had a large wooden desk in the center with piles of paperwork scattered all over, and there was a cute young woman sitting behind it.
"Ah..."
Machary looked at her, felt his cheeks turn warm at her beauty, and then respectfully bowed his head.
She was going to be his guild master from now on, after all.
"...It’s you."
At that moment, Machary heard a familiar voice and turned the side of his eye towards Miranda, who was sitting by the bookshelf.
She didn’t aim her words at him. It was towards the young man behind him. At Fang Raon.
"Heh."
Fang Raon just playfully smirked back at her, and Miranda’s face turned red, looking like she was ready to fight him.
Eventually, she calmed herself down, as she didn’t want to make herself look bad in the presence of Della.
"Welcome. You must be Machary. I’ve heard great things about you. I am sure you will be a valuable member of Rose Records!"
Della said with a smile.
"...I’ll do everything in my power to carry the name of Rose Records with pride."
Machary put his hand on the chest and bowed.
"I know you will. And everyone else in the room must be the members of your party. Please, feel free to make yourself at home."
Della said with a smile.
Abigail and Poppy thanked her for the warm welcome. Ragnar grunted in response. Fang Raon nodded slightly.
’She acts like she doesn’t know me.’
Fang Raon thought to himself.
"...I thought I sensed a certain useless presence coming from this room. Well, well, well, isn’t it that useless young man I met on the 6th floor!"
Everyone’s gaze turned to the door, and from there, with a cigar in his mouth, Rock waltzed in like he owned the place.
"...Sigh."
Della wryly smiled and rubbed her forehead, as she felt like she was about to get a headache because of her grandfather’s antics.
"M-Master Rock..."
Machary whispered, almost starry-eyed.
"Who are you, old man? Shouldn’t you be at a retirement home or something?"
Fang Raon snapped back.
"Do you have memory problems, you little shit? Are you sure that I am actually the old one?"
Rock said with a twitching eyebrow, and they locked their fierce gazes, and everyone in the room just looked at the two of them in shock.
’...They really are close. I’ve never heard Grandfather talk to someone like they’re old friends, but him bantering with Fang Raon only shows they’re very close.
’Didn’t they only spend a couple of days together on the sixth floor?’
Della frowned to herself.
