Black Online-Chapter 77: Deep Thinking Tank
’What class is he in?’
Fang Raon’s heart skipped a beat, and he entered the deep thinking tank with his thoughts racing a mile a minute.
’This cannot have a simple answer. It must be a class that nobody would ever guess, but maybe that’s what he wants me to think, and he is actually something as simple as a Warrior.
’There are six choices—Warrior, Tank, Ranger, Assassin, Helper, and Mage—there is around 17 percent chance of guessing correctly if I just guess.
’It would make guessing a little bit easier if I could eliminate a few choices and narrow it down.’
Fang Raon thought and then looked at Randell, who was just smiling and enjoying his predicament.
They were letting him think in peace.
Players who knew the answer just chuckled to themselves, as it really was an evil question that had stumped many before.
’Alright, let’s think. This Randell guy does not like moving much. His hygiene is horrible. I can really smell him from across the room, and I don’t think he moves much from the throne.
’I think I can honestly eliminate Warrior as a choice. It is a very physical class, and Randell clearly doesn’t care about taking care of himself physically.’
Fang Raon thought.
He also saw how Randell handled his Refined Sword and it really didn’t look like he had ever wielded a sword before.
’Most people would guess that he is Tank. With his big body, he could tank well, but again, I don’t think he is the type of person that would become one.’
He thought.
However, he still didn’t dare to eliminate that as a choice.
’Assassin... This is a tricky one. It is a class for the stealthy and agile, and he is neither of those things.
’That’s why he could be Assassin. It is something that nobody would guess him to be, and maybe when he was young he dreamed of being a ninja or something and wanted to become one here.’
Fang Raon thought.
This was his first guess for now—Assassin—but he had a hunch that he might also be overthinking things.
’I need to remember that for him to become boss of so many players, Randell must be very powerful. I honestly don’t see him becoming that strong in the Assassin pathway.
’It requires a lot of... physical training to advance in the Assassin pathway, and it doesn’t look like he has done a day of training in his life.’
He then thought about Mage and imagined Randell as a wand-wielding, pointy hat-wearing mage.
’Maybe... However, to increase mana and learn the skills of the Mage pathway, you need to learn a lot of books. This guy would never open a book.’
Fang Raon thought with a smile.
Randell’s eyes narrowed, as he felt like he was being insulted right now, and he started tapping the armrest of his throne.
It was almost like he was saying, "Hurry up, we don’t have all day!" 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺
’...What about the Helper class? It could also be one, but would Randell really bother to "help" anyone? I don’t think so.
’And to keep all of these players in check, Randell must have impressive combat prowess. You cannot rule over a street crime scene otherwise.’
Fang Raon felt his head pound as if it was being hit from all sides.
It was a stupidly difficult question, and he was trying to get as much help from the surroundings as possible.
He even tried lip-reading nearby players if they happened to accidentally spill out the answer, but he couldn’t really lip-read.
’...What about Ranger class? Nah, once again, a class that requires physicality, and he just doesn’t have that.
’Assassin, Tank, or Helper—it must be one of those three—33 percent chance. I increased it slightly, but I don’t like those odds.’
Fang Raon thought.
"Well? Are you going to keep thinking all day, or are you going to give me an answer?"
Randell asked with a smirk.
"...It is an unfair question. I don’t have enough information on you to make that guess. I want some help."
Fang Raon said.
"Help? What the hell do you mean?"
Randell asked.
"Be magnanimous, and give me a hint. It’ll make the game much more interesting, I promise."
Fang Raon put his hands together and pleaded.
It made Randell think, and he rubbed his dirty beard, and with a smirk, he leaned back against the backrest of the throne.
"Fine, I’ll give you a hint. With that class, I can steal something."
Randell smiled.
’Assassin!’
Fang Raon’s eyes widened, but then he lowered his head and thought, ’No,’ and almost slapped himself in the face.
’Is he trying to trick me? Is this hint a fake? No, I was checking the player’s expressions, and they didn’t look confused by that question.
’Instead... They looked amused... It must be a real hint, but the answer must not be that simple. I need to think outside the box.’
He bit his finger.
At that moment, Randell pulled out a pocket watch, turned the clock back, and it started ticking down from the twelve.
"You have one minute to give me your answer."
Randell said.
’I really don’t think it is Assassin. It would be just too obvious of an answer, but maybe he again wants me to overthink?
’I really don’t think he is smart enough to play mind games with me. I think his class can really steal, but it’s not Assassin.
’The keyword here is ’steal something,’ as if it is something that is a rather irregular thing. Can it be Tank? No way.
’Warrior... no... Ranger... no... Mage... no... What about the Helper?
’What would he be stealing as a Helper? There are many debuff skills that can be used as weapon in a way.
’You can heal, but can you also steal health? Just like with Abigail’s Mana Drain skill. That’s basically stealing mana, but I don’t think Randell is a Mage.
’So, Helper?’
"Thirty seconds!"
Randell shouted.
’I’ve read that every class can be used in an offensive manner if you so desire.
’Helper is a class that nobody would associate with Randell, and maybe he actually doesn’t help anyone with that class but uses it in an offensive manner.
’Maybe he steals health... Like an Anti-Healer, in a way.’
Fang Raon frowned.
"Ten seconds!"
Randell shouted.
In that moment, Fang Raon looked him straight into the eye, and with his racing heartbeat, he shouted out his answer.
"Helper!"
