Chapter 67: Sea God’s Tomb

In the dock of the 6th floor.

"...Machary, do you even know how to sail a boat?"

Abigail asked.

"No, but how hard can it be?"

Machary said with a scoff.

The boat was small. It had a white sail and a small cabin. Just big enough to be used for maybe a fishing trip.

It was one of the cheapest boats Machary could find.

"I checked the boat for any damage, and it looks fine. I would avoid any major storms while out in the sea, or we will be swimming with the fishes."

Ragnar came from the lower deck, looking a little winded, as it was really narrow down there.

In that moment, someone jumped from the docks to the deck of the ship, a smile frozen on his face.

Machary looked over, scoffed, and said, "About time you came," and in that moment, saw someone accompanying Fang Raon.

"...Yes, another girl."

Abigail whispered under her breath, as she didn’t want to be the only girl in the party, surrounded by these foolish boys.

"She is the one?"

Machary asked.

"Mmn, this one is Poppy, and she’ll be our Helper."

Fang Raon said with a smile.

"...It’s nice to m-meet you all."

Poppy bowed respectfully and looked at the other members of the party, and at first, she noticed that they seemed to be a few members short.

She looked at Fang Raon with confusion.

"...It’s just us five, but that should be enough, right?"

Fang Raon said with a smile.

"...Ah."

Poppy nodded, but she started to feel a little jittery about whether they could really complete the boss raid with just five of them.

She then saw Ragnar and flinched.

’He looks even scarier than Lucas!’

Poppy almost screamed but held it in and was then greeted by Abigail, who looked at her with a reassuring smile.

It made her feel better to have another girl here, and there were other girls in Lucas’ party, but they were horrible witches.

Always badmouthing her behind her back.

"...Is she any good?"

Machary whispered to Fang Raon, and he just shrugged his shoulders.

"I don’t know."

"What do you mean you don’t know? Wasn’t it your idea to get a really good Helper in our party?"

Machary asked with a twitching eyebrow.

"I realized how hard it was to get Helper, so I was just satisfied with level 2. Even if she is not that good, we can always teach her."

Fang Raon said.

"...Fair enough."

Machary said.

He was already very happy that they actually got Helper in their party, as they couldn’t do the raid without one.

"Let’s sail!"

Machary shouted.

With a tug on the ropes, the boat set off into the open sea, slicing through the water like a knife through cake.

They waved goodbye to the 6th floor’s beach city. It was a place they all—except Poppy—had fond memories of.

’...I will definitely visit this place in the future as well. It would be a shame not to.’

Fang Raon thought to himself.

However, for now, it was time to keep climbing the tower, and it would probably be another year or two before he could return here.

"Ah..."

Fang Raon sat down on the railing of the boat, looking down at the water below him, and saw several fish swimming lazily in the crystal-clear water.

In that moment, even a dolphin passed by, flipping its tail out of the water before diving back down.

"Hello, we haven’t met before, but I am Machary, and I am the leader of this party."

Machary talked to Poppy and shook her hand, but she looked confused, as she thought Fang Raon was the leader.

"Co-leader!"

Fang Raon shouted.

"...Right, Co-leader. Fang Raon and I are leading this party."

Machary said.

"Ah, that’s cool..."

Poppy said with a shy smile.

She then glanced at Ragnar, who was sitting inside the cabin with his arms crossed and the large axe on his back.

"Who is he...?"

She asked nervously.

"That’s Ragnar. No need to be scared. He is a big teddy bear. He is the team’s Tank, so he will be the one protecting you during the raid."

Machary said.

Poppy nodded with a slightly relieved look, but she still thought he looked scary, as if he would suddenly start growling and roaring.

...

In that moment, at the docks of the 6th floor, a party led by Lucas arrived at their boat, which they abruptly rented.

"Boss!"

At the boat, already waiting, a little-presence-having Assassin stood in salute.

"Where did they head off to?"

Lucas asked coldly.

"...To the open sea. It does look like they are heading to Sea God’s Tomb to acquire the Sea Tower Key."

Assassin said.

He followed Fang Raon and Poppy by Lucas’ orders ever since they left the Player’s Bar. It was hard to notice him because of his level 2 Stealth skill.

"It sounds like we can kill two birds with one stone. They’ll get the Tower Key for us, and we’ll also get Poppy back."

Lucas said with a cold smile.

His party members were also grinning evilly, and they then boarded the boat and headed off to the Sea God’s Tomb.

...

Sailing through the open sea, a small wobbly-looking boat slowly made its way down the calm and still sea.

"...Sea God’s Tomb is our destination. It is where we will get the Sea Tower Key, but it’s in a somewhat bothersome location."

Machary said while everyone listened around him, and he then pulled out a map of Sea God’s Tomb, which he purchased for 100 square coins.

"Sea God’s Tomb is underwater, so we will have to dive down to retrieve it, and there will be a guardian protecting it."

Machary said.

In that moment, he patted Fang Raon’s shoulder and said.

"I was thinking that I will go retrieve it with Fang Raon and..."

"Ah, that won’t do."

Suddenly, Fang Raon stopped him, and everyone turned to look at him with raised eyebrows, and even Machary looked at him with, "What are you talking about?" look.

"I can’t swim."

Fang Raon said with a sheepish smile.

"...Are you kidding me? What are you, a child?"

Machary asked angrily, almost gritting his teeth, and Fang Raon just playfully scratched the back of his head.

He never had the opportunity to learn swimming because of his condition.

"I can come with you."

Abigail said.

"That will do. The rest will stay behind to guard the boat, just in case other players happen to come around." 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺
