Chapter 112: Level 3

[LEVEL UP!]

"I leveled up!"

Fang Raon shouted excitedly.

"About time. Well, what are the three classes that you can choose from? Take a good look at their Innate Skills too."

Rock said.

"I’ll check."

Fang Raon said, and pressed a button on the notification, and the leveling-up window appeared before him.

[Choose your class!]

[=LEVEL 3=]

[Sword Disciple - Innate Skills: Combat Insight/Adaptive Stance/Foundation of the Blade]

[Dancing Blademan - Innate Skills: Marked Floor/Closing Sequence/Flow State]

[Dominant Vanguard - Innate Skills: Forward Momentum/Iron Will/Threatening Presence]

"Alright... Sword Disciple, Dancing Blademan, and Dominant Vanguard. Those are three classes that I can choose from."

Fang Raon said.

"...Sword Disciple came from you training under me. Dancing Blademan is available because of your Aurel’s Blade Dance skill, and I don’t really know where Dominant Vanguard came from, but I guess you did something to get that class as a third option."

Rock rubbed his chin and then asked.

"Which one do you think has the best innate skills?"

"Hmm... Sword Disciple has learning-type innate skills. Combat Insight probably helps me to gain more insight into battles.

"Adaptive Stance helps me to adapt my stance based on enemy type, I guess, and Foundation of the Blade... I don’t know. Maybe it helps me to learn the techniques of sword fighting easier?"

Fang Raon shrugged his shoulders as he didn’t quite know.

"...Hmm, that makes sense, I suppose. What about the other two?"

Rock asked.

"Dancing Blademan has Marked Floor, Closing Sequence, and Flow State as innate skills. I have no idea what Marked Floor and Closing Sequence means.

"Flow State probably heightens my senses during battle."

Fang Raon said.

"I haven’t heard about the first two innate skills, but I know a little bit about Flow State. I think it heightens your clarity during intense battle moments.

"I know of a saber-sword user that actually had Flow State, and when he was under the effect of Flow State, he was very formidable."

Rock said.

"Interesting... Lastly, Dominant Vanguard, and his skills are Forward Momentum, Iron Will, and Threatening Presence."

"Ah, yes, I know all three. Forward Momentum increases the power in your strikes, Iron Will helps you to tank more damage, and Threatening Presence makes it so that enemies are more likely to target you.

"When they target you, every one of your allies gains defensive buffs. Those skills are quite often given to Tank players, so I am quite surprised that you got those."

Rock said.

"Which one do you think I should choose?"

Fang Raon asked.

"It is your choice. What kind of fighter do you want to be? Your Warrior pathway is branching into three different directions, and this choice will determine what kind of fighter you’ll be in the future."

Rock said.

"...You think Machary has similar classes to choose from?"

Fang Raon asked curiously.

"He is a drastically different fighter from you. You two went through a similar path at the start, but since then, you two have become very different."

Rock said.

"Mmh..."

Fang Raon looked at the three classes, and there was only one class that truly intrigued him.

"I’ll choose this."

Fang Raon pressed on the window, selected the class, and saw a notification appear before him.

[You have chosen the "Dancing Blademan" class!]

[Choose your Innate Skill!]

[=INNATE SKILLS=]

[Marked Floor: Ground repeatedly stepped upon becomes familiar territory, improving control and stability]

[Closing Sequence: As a fight nears its end, the situation becomes increasingly more favorable to the blademan]

[Flow State: Extended combat induces emotional detachment and heightened clarity]

"I chose Dancing Blademan, and it now shows the description of all three innate skills."

Fang Raon said.

"What do they say?"

"Marked Floor—ground repeatedly stepped upon becomes familiar territory, improving control and stability.

"Closing Sequence—as a fight nears its end, the situation becomes increasingly more favorable to the blademan.

"Flow State—extended combat induces emotional detachment and heightened clarity."

Fang Raon said.

"Hmm... Marked Floor is good since there is some dangerous terrain in the tower that can be hard to adapt to fight. Even I can’t teach you all that because there are so many different terrains.

"If your opponent has an advantage of terrain, you’ll be at quite a disadvantage.

"Closing Sequence is very interesting. What does it mean that the situation becomes increasingly more favorable to you? It’s very vague.

"Flow State is just like I expected."

Rock said.

"What should I choose?"

Fang Raon asked.

"Again, it’s really your choice. I think you chose the correct class. All three of these Innate Skills are pretty good."

Rock said.

Fang Raon rummaged his brains, thinking about what to choose, and for starters, he thought that he would choose Flow Stage.

However, then his gaze kept lingering at Closing Sequence, and he really liked the sound of it.

’As a fight nears its end... That’s the key word... How will it know if the fight is nearing the end? It must be based on a degree of damage or something like that.

’How will it turn more favorable? I am really curious about this skill. I think I will choose it.’

Fang Raon made his decision and chose "Closing Sequence" as his second Innate Skill.

[You have chosen "Closing Sequence" as your Innate Skill!]

[You have received 100 stat points. Please allocate them wisely!]

"I chose Closing Sequence. I now have a hundred stat points to use. Haha, any ideas where I should use them? You should know my weaknesses."

Fang Raon wryly smiled.

However, he had a hunch that Rock wasn’t planning to help him choose, as he clearly wanted him to decide his own path.

"You know yourself better than anyone. It is your choice and your path. Never let anyone dictate your own path."

Rock said with a serious look.

"...Mmh."

Fang Raon nodded and opened his system interface and looked at the six attributes. 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂

First of all, he looked at Vitality, and his heart started pounding unknowingly.

’I don’t know if it really is the case, but what if I really get more healthy by adding points to Vitality? I could become healthy again.

’However, it would also be a huge waste to put all points to Vitality. I am in quite a dilemma.

’On the other hand, I put all my points into Vitality and become perfectly healthy again.

’On the other hand, if I do that, I’ve wasted quite a lot of points, and I’ll be quite unbalanced and weak compared to other level 3s.

’I won’t be much help to the guild if I am weak.’

Fang Raon rubbed his chin and came to a decision.

’I will do it like before, I’ll add points to attributes that I think will make me stronger. I’ll put some points into Vitality too, but if that’s not enough to cure me, I shouldn’t care too much.

’I’ll just wait for level 4 then!’

Fang Raon nodded to himself and then started finally assigning the points to the six attributes after careful consideration.
