Black Online-Chapter 108: Black Bear
They didn’t have to wait much longer.
Soon, a small group of Ice Goblins came from over the hill, and they were already looking hostile.
It was like they were able to sense that one of them had already died, and when they arrived at the clearing, they saw their dead brethren.
They growled angrily.
"...There’s six of them. A little too much, no?"
Fang Raon asked with a nervous chuckle.
"Naaaaaah, you can take them. Be resourceful, and use your brains. You are team leader now, so use your head a little."
Rock said with a laugh.
With a loud growl, the Ice Goblins started running at him, and Fang Raon turned around and ran off.
They followed him, but one of the Ice Goblins turned to Rock and growled as if it was about to do something.
"Growl~"
In that moment, Rock’s hound rose to its four legs and growled back fiercely, looking like a hound from hell.
Ice Goblin froze at the sight of the hound and immediately followed others, who were going after Fang Raon.
"Huff! Huff! Huff!"
Fang Raon ran straight to the river, jumped in without hesitation, and dragged his feet through the cold water.
He reached the other side and saw Ice Goblins arrive at the river, but they were too afraid to cross it.
With their small statures, it was much easier for them to get swept away by the river.
Even though they were unintelligent, it didn’t mean that they were suicidal, and they also had their own fears.
’They’re afraid of water? Good!’
Fang Raon lifted his sword and threw it over the river and towards one of the Ice Goblins.
Spurt!
The sword drove through one of the Ice Goblin’s shoulders, but it didn’t quite go entirely through.
"Return!"
In that moment, the sword flew back to Fang Raon’s hand, and he kept throwing the sword at the same Ice Goblin.
After a few more throws, the Ice Goblin died as it failed to dodge, and the sword flew back to Fang Raon’s hand.
[You killed Ice Goblin!]
’Five remaining...’ 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞
Fang Raon thought to himself.
"Growl..."
In that moment, a spine-chilling growl sounded behind him, and Fang Raon was a little bit afraid to turn around and see what it was.
Eventually, he turned his head around and saw a black bear. It was standing on its two hind legs and was staring straight at him.
It was like it was thinking, "What a tasty human," with its obvious drooling expression.
"...Shit!"
Fang Raon jumped back into the water and ran back to the Ice Goblins, and they tried hitting him with their wooden clubs.
However, Fang Raon managed to dodge them, and once he was out of the water, he kept running back to Rock.
Meanwhile, the black bear ran through the river effortlessly and stomped over the Ice Goblins that stood in its way.
The rest of the Ice Goblins that survived also ran away from the black bear.
"Help! Help!"
Fang Raon ran as fast as he could, but he could hear the sound of the black bear’s stomping, and it was getting closer!
A short moment later, he returned to the clearing and saw Rock still sitting in the same place as before.
"Growl!"
However, the hound reacted to the smell of the black bear and started growling, but once Rock touched its head, it calmed down.
"Rock, help me, for fuck’s sake!"
Fang Raon screamed.
"Naaah, you can handle it."
Rock said with a smirk.
"Tch!"
He clicked his tongue, but in that moment, the black bear caught up to him and swung its large paw, which sent him flying through the air.
He just saw everything spinning around him, and he then crashed into a tree.
[-195 HP]
[HP: 265]
"Oww... Damn!"
Fang Raon stood back up.
There was a strange tingling sensation on his back, and if this was real life, his back might’ve broken!
The black bear looked back at him and started charging at him like a raging bull.
"Throwing Sword!"
Fang Raon hurled the sword at him. It stabbed through the black bear’s skull. He then quickly used "Dodge Roll" to roll out of the way.
The black bear charged past him and smashed into a tree, and it then collapsed to the ground with the sword still stuck in its skull.
"Return!"
Fang Raon shouted.
The sword flew right back to his hand. It was still dyed with the bear’s blood. He slowly approached it.
He didn’t get the notification that it was dead just yet.
And in that moment, the black bear stood back up and turned to Fang Raon with a bloody gaze.
A deafening growl that echoed throughout the forest escaped its jaws.
There was a big wound on its forehead—as if someone had hacked an axe into it—and it was bleeding as if it had happened just recently.
The black bear was stumbling—clearly in pain—and then it stomped its paws to the ground, as if it was ready to charge.
It then lunged forward—but it wasn’t as ferocious as before—it could barely see straight because of the blood that was falling into its eyes.
"Dodge Roll!"
Fang Raon rolled out of the way, and meanwhile, he was thinking, ’Thank god that Dodge Roll only has 8 seconds of cooldown, or I would’ve been in trouble...’
The black bear missed and stopped, but while it was turning its head around, Fang Raon attacked with his sword.
"Basic Slash!"
The sword cut through the bear like a knife through steak, and the bear let out a loud roar before collapsing to the ground.
’Level 3 Basic Slash is also incredibly good!’
Fang Raon thought happily.
[You killed Black Bear]
[Next Level: 55% → 57%]
Clap~ Clap~
At that moment, Rock clapped his hands.
"Not bad. Your sword throw into the black bear’s head saved you. If you hadn’t done that, the bear would’ve massacred you."
Rock said with a smile.
"...You would’ve saved me, right?"
Fang Raon asked, but Rock just laughed at him and didn’t answer him, which made his expression look really sour.
’Demon instructor indeed... There is no way he would’ve let me die... Right?!’
