[BL]The Hero and his Party Won't Let Me Go-Chapter 76: Ch : No means no
Prince Kaiden’s anger felt like it had no end. He was frustrated at himself and at Sera.
It was such a strong feeling that even he was surprised at himself. Especially at the fact that he felt like he did not even want to see Sera’s face. This was a first for him.
’Shuu...’
His mind went back to Shuu and the engagement party. There had been so many times when he wanted to leave Sera’s side and go to Shuu’s.
And when Sera had suggested that Shuu head out on the hunt and away from the capital, Prince Kaiden’s heart had stopped beating for a minute.
The panic he had was enough for him to even lash out at Sera, which was a first.
All his feelings and emotions were pointing him in a direction he had never thought he would ever experience.
"-and the people are eagerly awaiting... Prince Kaiden, are you alright?"
Liam asked with a worried expression on his face. He looked like he was holding himself back from asking a lot of questions. He had already heard the rumors around the imperial palace and felt like it was his duty to uncover the truth.
But Prince Kaiden was not making it easy for him.
"I am fine. Rather... have you heard anything about Shuu and Nero? How are they doing?"
Prince Kaiden’s sudden question caused Liam to pause.
’Shuu... and Nero... so suddenly? Is he not going to ask how Lady Sera has been doing?’
Rumors said that Lady Sera had locked herself inside her room and refused to come out. And by now, Prince Kaiden should have gone to seek her forgiveness normally.
But the fact that he had not spoke said a lot for itself.
"I have not heard about them, but they should be fine. Lady Sera, on the other hand-"
"Who asked about Sera? I... do not want to hear her name for some time."
Prince Kaiden’s words shocked everyone. They all exchanged a look and wondered the same thing-had he gone mad?
How could the person who cared about nothing but Lady Sera say these words?
Just then, a new doubt began to emerge in everyone’s hearts, and Liam felt like he had to clear things up quickly, or things could get ugly fast.
"Prince Kaiden, please don’t let your anger take over. Lady Sera is your destiny, is she not?"
Prince Kaiden did not refute it, but for the first time, he did not show a positive reaction either.
He himself was not sure about his feelings anymore.
He had convinced himself that he loved Sera and that there would be no one else for him other than her. But then he thought about touching her... he could not imagine it.
Or rather, he did not want to imagine it.
All he could think about touching was Shuu. That familiar expression flashed across his eyes, causing a fond smile to appear on his lips.
The realization was gradual but no less impactful, and Prince Kaiden jolted.
’Fuck... I am attracted to Shuu in every sense of the word... is it because he looks like Sera?’
He asked himself, but his heart told him something different.
’I... was I attracted to Sera because she looks like Shuu? I liked her ever since I first saw her... because something about her felt familiar... She looked like that person I longed for in my dreams... but could it have been my misunderstanding...?’
Was destiny truly such a bitch to him? Surely not...
The temple would have said something...
’But wasn’t the temple the one who benefited the most from this? Sera is rather easy to control and naive as well. And she appeared right when I had the dreams about my soulmate...’
Surely things were not like that. Was Sera someone prepared by the temple to fool him?
But her features were genuine and not a result of any magic cast on her. Prince Kaiden had made sure of this...
"Ah-! About that medicine we brought back for Lady Sera... I was told by the elves that it’s ready. We can give it to her to cure her illness any time."
Liam proposed, and Prince Kaiden nodded before he stood up.
He could deal with his emotions later. Even if he did not like Sera romantically, he did have a duty to her at the moment. For her honor, he needed to keep this engagement going.
"Alright, bring that medicine to me. And keep an eye on things among the nobles as well. I have a feeling they are getting some ideas they should not be having."
Prince Kaiden told Liam, and he nodded before he left.
__________
Shuu was not having a good day. He had woken up and immediately felt like he had no energy. His feet felt swollen, and walking felt hard.
He did his best not to collapse more than once, but it was hard.
He did not even want to head down for breakfast, but Nero was not having it, and he ended up dragging him down and having him sit.
"Here, eat your food before it gets cold. I know you are still not feeling well, but try to keep your strength up."
Nero encouraged him, and under his guidance, Shuu took a few bites before he pushed the rest of the plate away.
He did finish the juice, which was something, but he also wanted to put pickles in it.
Nero did not say much as Shuu put sugar in his tea far more than he usually did and drank it. He simply set it down and gave Shuu a searching look.
Once he was sure of whatever it was he was looking for, he settled down and spoke once more.
"We are going to have a guest at the mansion today. He is an elf, and he won’t be staying around for long. You can choose to meet him or stay in your room if you would like."
Nero offered, and Shuu felt a gasp escape his mouth.
"An elf... I am not sure if it is such a good idea for me to be here. After all, I..."
Shuu did not finish the sentence, but Nero understood it anyway. That was why he did not stop Shuu when he stood up to leave the room.
