[BL] Seducing Male Leads To Survive As A Villain In A Novel-Chapter 349: Take my leave.
There was a sudden panic in the atmosphere. The Emperor began looking around, wondering if Eden had sneaked his way inside.
He stared at the Priest. "Can’t you see him? You should be able to!" he snapped.
The priest looked around, but he saw nothing. He shook his head as he explained, "I can’t..."
"How useless!" the Emperor snapped, scanning the room. "What if that jerk has made his way inside...?" He looked at the guards, ready to order them to the prison to check.
But before he could speak, they heard soft laughter.
Someone was laughing in the room, and looking around, it was none of them. Soon, a figure appeared, sitting on one of the seats ahead, legs and arms crossed.
"You..." the Emperor glared at Eden, who was laughing at how pathetic they had been moments before. "What the hell do you think you’re doing?!"
Eden laughed a little more before looking up at the Emperor. "What? You wanted to see me—why are you acting like that now?" he demanded.
The Emperor calmed himself as the guards moved to surround Eden, cautious in case he tried any tricks.
They pointed their swords at him, ready to strike.
But Eden casually stared at the guards around him and then looked up at the Emperor, who didn’t seem happy to see him at all.
"You see, that’s not how you welcome someone," Eden said, his legs still crossed. "Especially an old friend."
The atmosphere was cold and stiff. Their eyes locked as Eden wore a devilish smirk on his lips. The Emperor’s expression remained cold in contrast.
"Old friends?" the Emperor glared at him. There was silence between them for a while before the Emperor casually smirked. "I guess I underestimated you. After all, it’s only the great Lyeian who could see through me."
Eden smiled as he slowly rose to his feet. "Of course. With all the silly happenings, it was pretty easy to piece everything together and figure out who was behind it," he said with a smile.
"Silly happenings?" The Emperor raised an eyebrow.
Eden smiled with a sigh. "It seems you still haven’t given up on immortality, Kyle."
The atmosphere turned icy. It felt as though everything had frozen as the two of them stared at each other.
The Emperor hesitated before saying, "Leave." The guards promptly exited the room, leaving the two alone.
Eden smiled as he ran a hand through his hair. "It seems this is your little secret," he folded his arms. "Interesting. I wonder how long you’ve been in that body, pretending to be the Emperor while stealing souls to attain your fantasy of godhood."
The Emperor slowly scoffed. "I really did underestimate how much you could see through. You’re the first."
"Kyle, it’s me. Do you really think I wouldn’t know? That I wouldn’t see through your disguise? It’s pretty obvious. I guess you still use that same silly brain of yours," he sighed, shaking his head.
The Emperor clenched his fist. "It’s ’Your Majesty.’ Refer to me as that, because I am your emperor. Not Kyle. Don’t be disrespectful."
Eden stared at him and then burst out laughing. "Your Majesty? Emperor?" He laughed even more. "You’re really taking this role seriously, I see..." He shrugged. "Well, too bad I won’t be playing the role-play game with you. And I’m not here to try and understand why the hell you’re in the body of the Empire’s ruler. You should know why I’m here. It’s for business. So hand them over."
The Emperor raised his chin as he slowly sat down on his seat, staring down at Eden. The priest stood silently beside him.
Eden completely ignored the priest.
"You think it’s going to be that easy? That you’re going to come and get them as you please?" Kyle laughed. "Well, you’ll have to go through me, Lyeian."
Eden smiled, staring at him. "Are you even listening to yourself? Get past you? Maybe you’ve forgotten what happened the last time we fought. You don’t stand a chance against me. You’re still a nobody—not even a demigod. You’re just a half-baked psychopath with fire breakouts."
Eden spoke with a calm smile, but his detest for the person sitting before him was obvious.
Kyle smiled. "That was years back. I had no means to defend myself then," he said. "But now... you’ll be lucky if you can leave here alive..."
He stared meaningfully at the priest who stood quietly beside him.
Eden glanced at the priest as well. "I should have known when I saw him at the event... You’ve managed to get him under your control. Impressive. Now he’s doing your dirty jobs..." He smiled as he stared back at Kyle. "But that doesn’t make any difference."
"I guess we’ll see about that. Because as long as you’ve stepped into my humble home, you’re not leaving," Kyle smiled.
Eden smiled as he took a few steps closer to where Kyle sat. "Now, if you can be so kind and tell me where the princes are kept, I’d appreciate it."
Kyle smiled. "And why should I even tell you?"
Eden said nothing. He wore a relaxed smile while staring at Kyle, gazing straight through his eyes.
"Thanks for your cooperation," Eden suddenly said after a while.
Kyle rubbed a hand over his eyes. "What the fuck did you just do? Did you read through my eyes now...?!"
Eden smiled. "You’re working with a wizard here. Not the Lyeian of years back." He added, "So if you’ll excuse me, I’ll be off to go get my people."
He turned and began casually walking toward the exit door of the courtroom.
Alarmed, Kyle jumped to his feet. "And where the hell do you think you’re going?!"
Before he could speak another word, the walls of the room shattered like silver and fell to the ground. The pillars cracked loudly, and the seats shattered into pieces.
Sections of the courtroom splintered like glass as Eden reached the exit door.
The Emperor had a hand around his own neck as he looked around at the wreckage. His eyes—and those of the priest—met Eden’s as he turned to stare back at them, smiling.
"I don’t have much time to waste with you two. Adieu."
