Chapter 201: Chapter 200: Comrade’s Farewell
Chapter 200: Comrade’s Farewell
The rising confrontation between them was suddenly abruptly stopped when they heard running footsteps coming towards them.
The two paused and looked away. They saw Hong Xiran running towards them with a slightly panting pace.
"Marshal, Mr. Qin," Hong Xiran saluted them but they were slightly stunned when they heard the respectable greeting for Qin An.
It seems that there are also changes to others.
"Mr. Qin," Hong Xiran didn’t notice the strange atmosphere between them and looked at Qin An with respectful gaze. "I want to ask about Fu Minghao."
"What is it?"
"Will he be alright after sending him? Where will he go? Will it be painful too like what happened to others earlier?" Hong Xiran’s continuous questions reveal his anxiety about his friend.
Witnessing what happened earlier made him realize how powerful the young man is and the world that they didn’t know. The mysterious energy was so powerful that it totally convinced him that there are many wonders around this world that they just don’t know.
What Qin An did just brought a deep impact to their world view. What stuck on his mind the most is how Qin An easily defeated that unknown monster and dragged it towards somewhere that they didn’t know. That golden chain that entangles Gao Tao made him subconscious shudder especially when he heard the scream of pain that he felt.
He just thought about his comrade. Will he also experience that painful burning sensation inside him? Right now, Hong Xiran and all the members were extremely worried for their comrade’s sake. What they just saw were imprinted inside their minds.
Sensing Hong Xiran’s anxiety, Qin An remained composed as he answered him.
"Don’t worry. He won’t go through any pain." Qin An assured them. "Your friend had merit before he died. He did good things and thus will protect him even for his second life after reincarnation. Good things will be rewarded for what they deserve to have. Fu Minghao will be alright."
He tilted his head slightly. "I saw him earlier and the resentment around him had disappeared. If he’s ready, he can now go."
Hong Xiran was stunned. "Go?" His expression flashed reluctance. "Can’t it be longer? We actually wanted to take our time with him, especially Minglei."
Qin An paused but still said the truth. "After the resentment disappears, he can really stay here much longer. However, I have to tell you that letting him stay here will affect him. This world has lingering pollution everywhere. Besides," he looked at the two to emphasize something. "Souls have no longer the right to stay here. They must be sent to wherever they have, and it’s either to have their second life or to go down there and receive punishment."
"..." Both went silent after hearing his words.
Even if they had already expected this thing, they just still couldn’t help but still feel sorry. The time they spent was too short. Even if they knew that Fu Minghao has always been there by their side, seeing and talking with him is another matter. They didn’t know he was there and even if they knew, they couldn’t talk because they couldn’t see him without Qin An’s help.
It was frustrating but that was the situation that they had to face.
And now, they have unfortunately been given no time.
Hong Xiran exhales a loud breath. "Then, can we say goodbye to him before he’ll leave?"
Through their dreams? Qin An first thought about weaving dreams for them to say goodbye but looking at them, he eventually sighs silently.
Opening their eyes would surely cost him spiritual energy again, but for this matter maybe he can give them a go.

In the small garden of the laboratory, He Li and his team gathered in front of Qin An to say goodbye to Fu Minghao.
"Will you be okay?" Ji Wen asked when he suddenly remembered what the young man told him about the cost of energy.
"Mr. Qin, you don’t have to open our eyes. Minglei and the Marshal will be alright," Xu De told him. Others also nod because they are worried for the young man’s health.
"It’s okay," Qin An assured them.
"... Thank you," Minglei looked at Qin An with eyes filled with gratitude.
Qin An just nodded and raised his hands a bit. A wave of spiritual energy flowed from his hands and it flew gently towards them.
It slowly touches their eyes and the brightness makes them slightly squint. This lasted for a few seconds before the energy went out and in the next second, He Li and his team saw a familiar person appearing in front of them.
Fu Minglei’s eyes widened and it quickly turned red. "Brother!"
Others also became visibly happy as they went closer to welcome their comrade.
Fu Minghao smiled brightly after seeing them. "It’s nice to see you again."
"B-Brother..." The usually bright Fu Minglei instantly turned into a cry baby as his heart filled with extreme reluctance. Seeing him in front of him and knowing that he will truly leave his side made his heart grow weary.
To be honest, he doesn’t want him to leave at all.
When he found out that his brother never left him, all the grief inside his heart faded. He was happy that his brother was still there even if they couldn’t see him. He was very grateful that his brother never broke his promise.
He stayed with them all this time.
After that, even if he couldn’t see him, he would always talk to him. Telling him what happened to his life even if his brother had seen it. Just like when they were still young and he was here, every night they would always talk about their day before taking rest.
His brother will always assure him that he’ll be alright because he’s here.
Now... it seems that everything will stop.
"B-Brother... I don’t want you to leave," Fu Minglei voiced out his real feelings as tears started to flow down from his eyes.
"I-I can’t..."
Fu Minghao chuckles. "What are you talking about? You’ve been okay when I died. You didn’t even know that I was there and I saw you survived." He subconsciously raised his hand to pat him but only to find out that his hand just directly passed through his brother’s shoulder.
"..." Everyone was stunned and the atmosphere around them turned heavier.
Fu Minghao quickly put his hands behind him and smiled again. "Minglei, you lived well even without me. I’m sure you can do it again."
Fu Minglei wanted to speak but couldn’t because of the lump on his throat so he just shook his head repeatedly to express his feelings. Fu Minghao sighs and looks at his other teammates.
These are the people who brought him up and his brother. He had always remembered the tough times they went through everyday. The missions that they had together and the war they went to for the first time when they were young.
Fu Minghao remembered that they were just newbies but they had a strong heart to win that first battle. The spirit of their team made them united and thus he was very happy.
Even if he died young, to be able to watch them grow made him proud. Fu Minghao is very proud that he was able to be part of their team— their family.
His eyes landed on He Li, their Team Captain and now the Marshal of the federation.
He remembered the young man who stood in front of them with a promise of taking care of them as a leader, a friend and a brother.
He Li may look like he’s too cold but only themselves know the soft-heart he has to the people around him.
He is a true leader not just for them but for everyone. And he was glad that he saw him becoming the person that they only wished in the past.
Fu Minghao may have spent his life shorter but his heart is full so he had no regrets. Now that all the worries inside him ended, he can feel himself being light and seems to be at peace.
It was such a wonderful feeling that he couldn’t believe he could feel. There was no pain due to the pollution nor would he suffer from the riot.
His head felt light and his heart was at peace.
"Everyone, I am really grateful to be part of the team," Fu Minghao began speaking his last message to everyone.
"Xu De, be sure to always protect them and yourself too, okay?"
"Qi Jian, you don’t have to be too strict to yourself. You are very well with what you’re doing now."
"Hong Xiran, always be patient and do not find yourself in trouble again! It was such a mess!"
"Ji Wen, be sure to supervise everyone. I can only worry about you taking care of them always."
Fu Minghao gave a message to each member of the team before looking back at the two most important people in his life.
"Minglei, be sure to grow well. I know you can do it. You have the team so don’t be sad anymore. They are your family, okay?" He looked at his younger brother with a slight heartache and a brotherly love. He took a deep breath to calm himself.
"Marshal... I really wanted to call you by this name. Was this just our dream back then?" Fu Minghao saluted He Li with pride.
"Captain, please don’t worry about yourself anymore. It was my choice and it was never your fault. I’ll be expecting you to do better like what we always wanted. Thank you for taking care of me."
He Li stared at Fu Minghao for a few seconds before nodding heavily.
Fu Minghao sighs again and finally turns to Qin An.
"Mr. Qin, thank you for giving me justice and to other people." Then he also performed a salute to the young man.
Qin An nods. He waited for a few moments again and after everyone nodded to send Fu Minghao, Qin An raised his hand slightly again.
A golden magic circle appears under Fu Minghao and it brightens a bit. This time, there was no chain that would entangle him but a single white butterfly flew from the magic circle.
It started circling around Fu Minghao and light slowly envelops him fully.
"Farewell, Comrades!" Fu Minghao’s last words before he finally disappears together with the white butterfly.
