[BL] Challenge: 100 Baby in Fantasy World-Chapter 251: Space Training
As Gara stepped out of the classroom, he was suddenly blocked by Miki, who came running toward him like he was being chased by a wild beast.
"Gara! I’ve got important news!" the rat boy announced dramatically.
"What kind of important news?" Gara asked, walking past him. Miki quickly followed, matching his pace.
"It’s about Vania’s punishment. Professor Langga already decided it!"
"It’s been decided?" Gara stopped in his tracks. Even he couldn’t hide his curiosity about Vania’s case.
Miki nodded, clearly satisfied with the attention he’d earned. "Turns out there’s already a rule that covers what she did. Apparently, cases like hers have happened before."
"Makes sense." Gara nodded thoughtfully. "So what’s the punishment?"
"She’s getting her grades reduced in all of Professor Langga’s classes. That’s the direct punishment from him. As for the official one, during the next Class S Duel, Vania’s challenger quota has been adden by two."
Gara’s eyes widened. "Isn’t that a bit cruel?"
"It is," a familiar voice chimed in from behind them, "but if you think about it, if Mona had lost, that punishment would’ve felt pretty light in comparison."
Both Gara and Miki turned around. Andine was walking up to them, arms crossed.
"You’ve got a point," Gara admitted with a small nod. "So, how did Vania take it?"
"No one knows what happened inside Professor Langga’s office," Miki replied, "but after she came out, she just kept her head down and went straight to her room without saying a word."
"Let’s hope she reflects on it and doesn’t do anything reckless again," Gara murmured.
Andine and Miki both nodded in agreement.
Soon after, the three of them went their separate ways— Andine heading toward the club tower, Miki back to his gossip circle, and Gara toward the back field.
When he arrived, his gaze immediately fell on the crowded training ground.
"That must be Madha and Fian surrounded by their fans again," Gara muttered as he passed through the commotion.
Beyond the crowd, he finally spotted the person he was looking for.
"Mona! Have you been waiting long?" he called out to the short girl standing quietly by herself.
The ghost girl shook her head silently.
Gara walked over to her. They had planned to train together for the past few days.
Gara wanted to understand more about space-type abilities, while Mona wanted to try out some of the suggestions he’d given her.
"Didn’t your parents or anyone in your family teach you the basics of space-type abilities?" Gara asked, starting their discussion.
Mona shook her head. "I’m the only Liner in my family. The one who taught me a little about my Bloodline and Talent was our village chief."
"But he didn’t know much about Space Bloodlines either, huh?"
She nodded quietly.
It seemed that even among Ghosts, the Space Bloodline was rare. Even rarer outside, just like how this academy hadn’t had a Space Class in years.
"In that case," Gara suggested, "try hiding inside your rift. Let’s see how long you can stay in there."
A moment later, Mona vanished. Gara began counting the time.
While waiting, his mind drifted back to Vania. "Would Mona be happy if I told her about Vania’s punishment?" he murmured.
"I don’t want to know anything about her," a voice replied out of nowhere.
Gara blinked, startled for a second. Until he remembered that inside a Dimensional Home Pocket, one could still hear what was happening outside, even while being within the space itself.
"Mona, can you only hear things while you’re inside, or can you see too?" Gara asked.
"I can do both," Mona’s voice replied, though she was still invisible.
They continued experimenting with her ability for a while longer. After about an hour, they had discovered several new things, even Mona herself hadn’t known before.
"So basically," Gara summarized, "you can move anywhere within your range while you’re still inside the rift. How long you can stay in there depends on your stamina. And according to Professor Langga, your range can expand over time with consistent training, right?"
Mona nodded obediently. "I used to think my range wasn’t growing at all. But when you told me to measure it more carefully, I realized it actually was. Just a little."
"It always starts small," Gara encouraged her with a reassuring smile. "But if you keep training at your maximum range, it’ll definitely improve."
"Oh, right. How about next we figure out what else you can actually do inside your rift?" Gara suggested, his tone brightening. He had been waiting to bring this up.
He wanted to compare Mona’s space to his own Dimensional Pocket Home, to see whether her rift worked the same way.
Earlier, Mona had told him that her space was pitch dark, with no sound or smell, except faint traces from the outside world.
Once again, Mona nodded quietly. Her expression was almost as blank as Fian’s, but at least she could hold a proper conversation.
"Alright then," Gara continued, excitement slipping into his voice. "Let’s test if you can bring another living being inside. And I’ll give you a torch, see if the light helps you perceive anything in there."
Mona immediately followed his instructions, vanishing again into her rift.
From a distance, Madha and Revan had just finished their sparring match.
They noticed Gara standing alone on the field, talking animatedly to thin air. Of course, they knew he was speaking to Mona inside her rift. But still, the sight looked a little ridiculous.
"No wonder Gara’s so strong," Revan commented, folding his arms. "He’s always training."
His tone had changed drastically. In the past, he’d talk about Gara with sarcasm. But now, it was nothing but genuine awe.
When Madha didn’t respond, Revan turned to him. The human boy —someone he’d grown surprisingly close to these past few weeks— had his jaw clenched tight, as if holding something back.
Revan frowned, confused. ’Did I say something wrong?’
Trying to ease the tension, the vampire boy asked, "Aren’t you heading back to the dorms? I’m going now."
"Go ahead," Madha said curtly, still not looking his way.
"Alright then," Revan replied uncertainly, walking off with a puzzled expression.
Only after Revan was gone did Madha’s shoulders finally relax. He dragged a hand down his face and muttered under his breath, "Am I seriously going to make every guy who praises Gara my enemy?"
He didn’t want to, but his chest tightened painfully at the thought of how easily everyone seemed to like Gara.
"Can I really have someone like Gara all to myself... someone that incredible?" he whispered to no one, his voice fading into the empty field.
