Bizarre Realm-Chapter 286 - 54: Spreading the Gospel!
Blood Feast Tavern.
This tavern is quite famous in Abyss City because it has three floors.
Located in the Magic District, the tavern boasts a prime location, with luxurious interior decor, and a tranquil environment unlike other noisy taverns. The owner is a formidable vampire, primarily serving transcendent beings on the Monster Path. The second floor offers the company of Enchanting Demons, Banshees, Vampires, and such. After negotiating the price, one can consider heading up to the third floor. The chef is a renowned Half-Elf, and it is said that a Half-Elf’s taste buds are more developed than those of humans, giving them an innate culinary talent capable of satisfying a wide range of clientele.
Most patrons here are mid to high tier transcendent beings, many of whom venture into the wilderness for years and find it necessary to unleash pent-up desires once they replenish supplies in Abyss City.
In the alley beside the tavern, a tall and thin man who had just finished his business was relieving himself. The public sanitation in Abyss City is mediocre, so it’s best not to wander at night.
"Friend!"
As the tall and thin man was about to shake off and pull up his pants, a deep male voice suddenly startled this seasoned adventurer who had experienced many battles in the wilderness.
He alertly dodged and rolled away, disregarding the splashes from his own urine on the ground. As he stood up, he had already drawn two short swords from his waist, and when he looked towards the darkest part of the alley, he gasped because he saw a peculiar hunched middle-aged man.
Evil Entity?
The man saw the long hooked nose like an old witch and the murky dark yellow eyes glowing faintly in the dark, much like a creature lurking to devour someone.
No! He’s speaking to me.
As if realizing he had startled the other, the hunched figure in the darkness stepped out and spoke with a gentle voice that belied his sinister appearance: "Don’t be afraid. I mean no harm."
He spread his palms open to show he had no weapons and, with fervent eyes, said to himself, "Friend."
"As you see, I am a Priest."
"My name is Yvonne Tanner, servant of the great mother—Divine Terra."
"If it’s not too much trouble, I would like to take a few minutes of your time to spread the gospel of the Great Mother!"
"She is the Mother of All Things! The Spirit of All Existence! The embodiment of the world!"
"She is both Earth and Sky, omnipresent and omniscient!"
Kregan was a seasoned adventurer.
He was a ruthless figure, having once killed several rounds among a group of Ogres and escaping unscathed from encounters with the Ancient Race. He was rather well-known in the adventurer community in Abyss City.
But in this moment, looking at the extended palm of Yvonne Tanner, Kregan’s pupils shrunk slightly. One hand was as aged as an elderly man’s, all wrinkled with brown spots. The other hand reflected steel glow in the darkness, with five silvery mechanical fingers holding a unique badge.
Where did this cultist come from?!
Isn’t Abyss City always cracking down on cultists? Why is there a cultist here in the Magic District?
And furthermore?
What kind of trash evil entity dares to call itself the Great Mother, even naming her as Divine Terra!
Does the Devil’s Court of Abyss City really amount to nothing?
Kregan was getting ready to retreat, but suddenly shivered all over. He stared intensely at the bizarre priest in front, astonished: "Are you an uncontrolled entity?"
He couldn’t have been mistaken.
In his wilderness adventures, he had dealt with many uncontrolled entities. The madness of the uncontrolled is starkly obvious, and this bizarre priest’s physical form was highly distorted. Yet Kregan had never seen such a polite uncontrolled being that tried to communicate and spread gospel messages.
Uncontrolled entities are monsters driven by insane instincts. 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚
"Yes." Yvonne Tanner nodded politely, "As you see, I was once an uncontrolled being."
"But!"
"The gospel of the Great Mother saved me."
"The Bishop delivered me from madness and granted me wisdom, allowing me to perceive the presence of the Great Mother and understand the suffering and pain she endures!"
"Now, I bask in the glory of Divine Terra."
Heavens!
Could uncontrolled beings be redeemed?
Shock gripped Kregan, causing him to momentarily forget to escape. He couldn’t help stepping closer, examining the highly mutated face of the other, the signs of flesh and blood out of control clearly visible, the skeletal structure of the entire body had mutated, the hunched posture caused by the severely twisted spinal column.
This must be someone who lost control after taking an Extraordinary Relic of Evil Demons. Kregan, a Half-Elf, had a former companion who tried to ascend through Evil Demons’ Extraordinary Relic and lost control, resembling the person before him. Kregan personally ended her suffering.
She had finally twisted into a writhing old banshee, her mind splitting into three, growing three grim and ugly heads, and it took a lot of effort for Kregan to chop off all three heads of his companion.
At the final moment of losing control, the companion turned into a ’Ghost Witch Gathering,’ with three supernatural relics of the old banshee exploding within her.
This cultist is not ordinary!
Kregan couldn’t resist asking, "How do you maintain calm and rationality despite being uncontrolled?"
