Bizarre Realm-Chapter 256 - 44: One Man Destroys a City! A Small Test of Strength (Part 2)
Suffocated to death!
As Shawn emerged from the darkness, the ground was already littered with the corpses of many bat-like creatures.
Dealing with these Tier One monsters was simple; as long as they were not at the Extraordinary Level 5 cap, a low-ring Instant Death Spell could take care of all of them. If they had fused with Second Stage Extraordinary Relics, as long as they still breathed, the Spell Ascension Ring would still kill them instantly.
— Teleportation Waypoint.
Shawn casually set up a Teleportation Waypoint, then found a creature that wasn’t quite dead. The Invisible Hand lifted its grotesque and bizarre bat body.
"Mind Link!"
"Prepare to read the target’s memory!"
— Reading Thoughts.
Shawn’s mind energy was like a spike, piercing directly into the brain of this bat creature. After breaking through all of the enemy’s will defenses, he read the other’s memories and thoughts as easily as watching surveillance footage.
Soon, Shawn had accessed the recent memories of the bat creature, gaining most of the intelligence about the underground city built beneath this deep pit mine.
"Reconnaissance Demon Eye!"
"Disperse."
"Search for the enemy’s patrol teams."
Shawn didn’t plan to attack directly; he intended to blind the enemy first, eliminating the nearby patrol teams.
In a passage leading to the underground city, a Gauss Eye Demon was floating mid-air on patrol, followed by several oddly shaped cave-dwellers. These were hybrid creatures, products of an unguided breeding process. They only had a single murky eye, set in their foreheads, while their original eye positions were covered by a layer of keratin.
— Death Cloud Technique!
Amidst a suddenly erupting toxic death cloud, the cave-dwellers’ bodies swelled and exploded into pieces on the spot, while the Gauss Eye Demon concealed itself mid-air, its eye stems searching for the enemy’s position.
Shawn’s Death Cloud Technique was far more challenging to withstand than that of the previous dwarf mage.
— Mind Spike (Spell Ascension Ring)!
Boom!
With a burst head, the brain of the Gauss Eye Demon died of an instant vascular rupture.
Instant kill.
Shawn’s calm figure emerged from the darkness, the Invisible Hand collecting the Eye Demon’s Extraordinary Relics, then his figure disappeared again into the darkness.
The commotion here seemed to alert nearby enemies.
Approximately 300 meters from the battlefield, a humanoid creature with tendrils on its head looked up warily, simultaneously sending a telepathic message: "Alert! There’s an intruder!"
Just as it finished speaking, Shawn’s figure materialized from the darkness.
"Heart Stealer, is it?"
"I didn’t expect an Eye Demon to collude with a Heart Stealer. Is there a powerful Exotic Monster Lord nearby?"
This was a lone Heart Stealer, not a complete Heart Stealer group, since the latter would have more enslaved creatures.
Moreover, a large Heart Stealer group would certainly have a Main Brain. 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂
The Heart Stealer retreated warily, and its enslaved thralls, controlled with spiritual energy, surrounded him. A telepathic link connected Shawn, and the enemy’s voice had a touch of fear: "Who are you? Why are you attacking us?"
In the Heart Stealer’s mind perception, the other seemed like a deep violet nebula, like a dazzling purple bubble spinning in the void.
— Knowledge Suppression!
Shawn, at that moment, seemed to be traversing unimpeded; he directly ignored the mind-enslaved thralls, raising his hand in a conical mind shockwave.
Within the targeted area, all creatures fell into a daze, including the Heart Stealer, which was controlled by its own racial signature ability.
The Invisible Hand clutched the Heart Stealer before him.
"Prepare for Knowledge Extraction!"
"Seize the target’s mind knowledge!"
In the darkness, the dazed figure of the Heart Stealer hovered two meters off the ground, four invisible hands grasping its neck. Shawn’s brain brimmed with mysterious knowledge, flipping through the opponent’s thoughts and memories to search for spiritual spells he might find useful.
This was the ability of a Mind Scholar, able to extract the target’s spiritual spells.
After a moment.
Shawn’s disappointed voice sounded, "Is that all? Even exotic monsters aren’t much!"
Boom!
The Invisible Hand crushed the Heart Stealer’s head.
Brain matter exploded.
It turns out the Heart Stealer’s brain isn’t all that different from a human’s after all.
At this moment, he had already dealt with half of the eight patrol teams at the outskirts of the underground city, and now he could prepare to drive straight in.
— Mind Domination!
Shawn took over from the Heart Stealer, enslaving these one-eyed aberrant cave-dwellers, then gave the order: "You will attack from the right side of the passage."
"The enemy’s thralls are my thralls!
The enemy is also my thrall!"
— The Slave’s Motto.
Shawn’s will was forcibly poured into the brains of these altered monsters, and in the next second, they nodded with stiff expressions and said, "Yes, Master!"
The attack of the cave-dweller thralls was set for five minutes later.
Shawn took out Hellfire Alchemy explosives, preparing for the next step of his plan. Once chaos ensued, a large number of monsters from the underground city would gather, and he intended to put on a big fireworks show for them.
"It would have been perfect if I had the Earthquake Skill."
Shawn had dominated about a dozen monsters, and as time passed, the expressions of the cave-dwellers suddenly turned fervent. Wielding their crude and simple weapons, they began an assault on the entrance gates of the underground city with roars.
The gateway to the underground city was towering, with mysterious rune engravings on both sides. It was transformed with spells, likely Mud into Stone, as many buildings in this newly constructed underground city were built using spells.
