Bitcoin Billionaire: I Regressed to Invest in the First Bitcoin!-Chapter 308: Penny’s Needs
Maybe he could think of a few things he could say, but none of them felt right at the moment.
I mean, what exactly could one say to the girl he loved after she just likely watched you have sex with another girl?
He could tell she had seen.
There was something in the awkward air that told him. Even as cool as the hallway felt, the air thick with the scent of chlorine wafting from the pool outside, there was still this very palpable tension.
Their eyes had been locked together for a while now. He was sure she had seen them because of the way she was standing.
Her legs were straight and stiff, firm, with her hand resting on the balustrade that overlooked the resort's courtyard.
The other hand was frozen mid-motion as if she'd been caught in the act, her fingers slipping from the hem of her skirt.
It would have been very embarrassing if it wasn't so hot.
He noticed her face too. That pretty face of hers was flushed a deep crimson, a mix of embarrassment and lingering arousal, but her eyes held a deeper shadow.
Darren thought it was sadness. It looked like sadness, like a storm cloud edging in on her desire.
Penny shivered slightly, not from cold but from the raw vulnerability of being exposed, her shoulders hunched as she pressed back against the stone railing, the pavement under her feet still warm from the day's sun.
They'd been silent for too long.
To rescue both of them from the awkwardness, Darren decided to break it.
"Penny," he said, his voice low and steady, closing the distance in two strides.
She wanted to move, terrified as she was, but she didn't. The blonde nineteen year-old just stared at him with those wide, expressive eyes that always betrayed her heart.
Nervous, flickering between hurt and need, her lips parted as if words failed her.
Darren felt heavy guilt. He didn't think it was fair to himself to be guilty, but he didn't think this was fair to Penny either.
Still, she chose this.
Living with the decision might be difficult, but she still chose it.
Penny's strong feelings for him surged to the surface in that silence, the way her breath hitched, the tremble in her hands as she clutched the balustrade for support.
Darren took another step closer. She shrunk.
"You heard everything?" he asked.
It wasn't like an accusation; he stated it gently, trying to make her not panic. Not feeling ashamed or guilty.
His hand reached out to cup her cheek, feeling the heat there.
Penny nodded, a tear slipping down her face, her body shivering harder now, caught between the turn-on of imagining him with Ileana and the ache of knowing she shared him.
"I'm sorry... I didn't mean to listen. But I... I couldn't stop."
Her voice cracked, raw with emotion, her love for him spilling out in the confession.
"You don't have to apologize," Darren told her, his gaze soft and reflective of his emotions for her within her.
Penny's eyes glittered with insecurity. "Did you like it with her?" she asked.
Darren tilted his head. It was a troublesome question. He had to be careful. The system hadn't assured him that the quest was completed. The women could still lose points on the Romance Radar.
"Would you be jealous if I told you I did?" he constructed his answer-question impeccably.
Penny moved her eyes away, cheeks as red as strawberries. She was jealous. As expected. She did love him.
"I shouldn't be," she said. "I agreed to this. To share… you."
Darren petted her chin. "Doesn't mean you can't be jealous. It's only natural. You agreed to this because you love me, and I love you. I'm sorry it has to be like this. But I wouldn't stop you if you decide to leave."
He shrugged. "In fact, I might prefer it even though it would really hurt. That way I don't feel guilty. Like I'm ridding you of a normal, happy life. With a man who could give you all of him."
Penny was the one to step forward this time, her eyes searching his with deep affection.
"You can't… give me all of you?" she asked softly.
Darren gazed at her. "I can," he answered. "...sometimes."
"I don't mind it, as long as I have a part of you, I think I'll be fine," she said. "But it hurts sometimes, Darren. Even when it... excites me."
Darren's heart twisted at her words, the proof of her devotion hitting him like a wave.
But importantly, the word "Excites…"
Did she just say that it excites her?
"Penny, listen to me," he murmured, his thumb wiping away the tear, his other hand sliding to her waist to pull her closer.
"You're not just sharing me. You know what you are to me. I can not stress it enough how important you are to me. You're the one I come back to."
They were close to each other now. So close. Only separated by air's thread. "You're the one I love, deeply, more than anything. This weekend is nothing without you at the center of it."
"I care about you, about us, more than any of this."
"Darren," Penny whispered, overwhelmed.
He leaned in, his lips brushing hers in a deep, claiming kiss, pouring all his reassurance into it.
As their mouths met, a jolt ran through him.
It was something exciting, something he had never felt before.
The realization that he was kissing her right after being inside another woman, the scent of Ileana still faint on his skin, the taboo thrill of it making his pulse race.
It felt forbidden, intoxicating, especially knowing Penny was okay with it, that her agreement made this possible.
She kissed him back harder, her hands fisting in his shirt, her tongue seeking his with a fierce, desperate passion, as if reclaiming him in that moment.
The other women by the pool—Olivia, Cheyenne, Rachel, all of them—could have seen them through the resort's open archways, they could be watching them right that very moment, but Darren didn't know or care; he just kissed her on, his body pressing against hers, the world narrowing to her taste, her heat.
Penny backpedaled slowly, her feet scraping the pavement as she moved toward her room, their lips still locked, breaths mingling in hot, urgent exchanges.
Darren followed without breaking contact, his hands roaming her back, guiding her through the hallway door until they stumbled into her suite, the door slamming shut behind them.
