Birthing Legends: My Womb Creates SSS Monsters-Chapter 36: Area 2: The Glow Garden.
Maddy kept walking, moving past the South area of the map and crossing into Area 2 — Middle.
As she stepped through the threshold, she stopped dead in her tracks. The cold, gray stone of the tunnels was gone. Here, the cave opened up into a massive, vaulted cathedral of earth. But instead of dust and rocks, the floor was covered in lush, glowing blue grass. Vines thick as tree trunks climbed the walls, dripping with glowing nectar. The air was warm and smelled like rain and jasmine.
"Wait... we’re still underground, right?"
Maddy asked, looking at a forest of giant mushrooms that glowed with a soft, neon light.
"Why is there a jungle in the middle of a cave?"
[Response: You have entered the ’Glow Garden.’ This area sits directly above a massive underground river and a high density mana vein. The energy is so thick here that it sustains plant life without sunlight.]
Maddy reached out to touch a leaf, but it pulled away from her finger like a sensitive mimosa plant.
"Okay. New area, new rules. Let’s see what kind of traits are hiding in the garden..."
She ran toward the center, glancing around as the scents of earth, plants, fungi, and some exotic flora filled her senses. She rotated slowly, arms outstretched, taking it all in. 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚
"Mmmm... I missed this smell. The richness of the soil, the sharp tang of the fungi... this hellhole makes me question everything they wrote in the holy book. This isn’t the hell I imagined."
She twirled on her heels, inhaling deeply, letting the cave’s life wash over her. Every flora here pulsed with magical energy, just like the minerals she’d consumed before.
"If they give off this kind of aura, then I’m sure I can eat them and take their traits."
She approached the nearest wall, where a strange plant sprouted from a crack.
"One thing I’ve learned as a Chimera Worm... everything tastes better!"
Without hesitation, she grabbed the plant and bit down.
CHOMP!

[Trait Acquired: Sensory Roots]
[Detects nearby living beings or ambient magical energy with heightened sensitivity.]
[Apply this traits to yourself, or store it?]
Still munching on the plant, she muttered sharply:
"Apply."
She paused as the taste spread across her tongue.
"Ugh! T-that’s... yummy! How can everything that’s supposed to be inedible taste so good?"
She swallowed, nodding to herself.
"Yeah. If it glows with aura, I have to eat it. But... it’s a bit awkward in princess form. Maybe it’s time to switch to my worm."
She took a deep breath and let her body shift. A soft light enveloped her, and in an instant, her form shrank and rounded—her Chimera Worm body.
"Oh... right. This feels perfect for devouring things that shouldn’t be eaten."
She wiggled her long, flexible coils, feeling every inch of her maw stretch and yawn wide.
"I can eat faster, gobble more. Time to eat!"
Her worm mouth flexed eagerly as she glided through the Glow Garden, devouring everything in her path.
CHOMP! CHOMP! CHOMP!
She moved like a living sponge, scooping up glowing plants and mushrooms as if they were nothing more than crumbs on a plate.
She slurped, chewed, and swallowed with absurd speed, leaving the ground sparkling clean wherever her maw had passed.
"No plant left behind... not a single one. Even the dirt looks happy now."
[System Notice]
[You have ingested multiple objects containing trait.]
[Trait Acquired: Photosynthetic Regeneration]
[Absorbs ambient mana or sunlight to gradually heal wounds and restore stamina.]
[Trait Acquired: Mana Storage]
[Stores raw mana energy for later release, usable for bursts of strength, spells, or healing.]
[Trait Acquired: Chemical Defense]
[Exudes mild toxins or scents to repel threats or signal danger.]
[Trait Acquired: Rapid Cellular Growth]
[Accelerated tissue growth when stimulated, aiding regeneration or forming minor organic structures.]
[Apply these traits to yourself, or store it?]
"APPLY!"
Lucy’s voice chimed softly in her head.
[This area has always been harvested for high grade alchemical materials. Every plant, mushroom, and glowing fungus here contains traits useful for healing, growth, and magical enhancement.]
Maddy laughed, her maw widening as she engulfed clusters of fungi and glowing roots.
"They weren’t kidding... I swear, my vomit could probably turn into medicine now!"
She felt lighter, her body buzzing with the garden’s energy. But her body was not the only one buzzing, on her behind she felt a flapping wings.
BZZZZZZZZZT!
"What the—?!"
Maddy threw herself to the side just as a needle thin proboscis, three feet long, slammed into the earth where her head had been. She scrambled back, looking up at her attacker. It was a nightmare of an insect—the size of a small pony, with fuzzy gray fur, jagged wings, and six spindly legs.
[New Monsterpedia Entry Added: Mammoth Mosquito]
[Mammoth Mosquito (Evolve Form) — Habitat: Cave / Forest / Swamps]
[A giant blood sucker that uses high-speed flight and a reinforced needle beak to drain prey in seconds. Their wings create sonic vibrations that can disorient enemies.]
"A mammoth mosquito... incredible! The wings, the size, that proboscis... this is fascinating. I haven’t seen anything this perfect in decades! The biomechanics alone... amazing."
She straightened, focus sharpening.
"Appraisal!"
[Magic: 300,000 | Might: 240,000]
"Whoa... that’s an insane amount of power in a single creature. This isn’t just a mosquito—it’s practically a miniature predator. Perfect... this species could be useful for my children!"
The mosquito circled in the air, its wings a blur. It dove again, moving faster than her eyes could follow. Maddy stood frozen, still in awe, feeling the vibrations in the air.
"Look at it... the speed, the precision, the control! On Earth, you’d never get a chance to see something like this up close."
The mosquito darted in for another sting, but Maddy jumped.
"Ha! Still too slow! You’re flapping in the air, and I eat the air!"
She inhaled sharply, sucking in the surrounding air and forcing the mosquito to slow as it struggled against the vacuum toward her maw. Her chest expanded like a balloon as she stored the air, then she unleashed her skill.
"Air Shot!"
A concentrated shockwave of compressed air blasted from her mouth. It hit the mosquito like a cannonball, shattering its fragile wings and crushing its exoskeleton against the bottom of the pit. The insect let out a dying hiss as Maddy jumped down to finish the job.
"Ingest."
CHOMP!
