Birthing Legends: My Womb Creates SSS Monsters-Chapter 34: Birthing Customization: Choose Your Offspring — Part 3.
Maddy’s chest swelled as the Mobile Womb pulsed.
"It’s done... finally. I’ve created him. My first child... the eldest... even in this world of monsters, he will be recognized. He will be powerful."
The sac expanded, perfectly sized for Arach. Towering even in its sac form, muscles and limbs subtly coiled, ready to grow. The glow of the traits shimmered over him. Maddy whispered, her voice both weary and elated,
"Arach... rise. Be strong. Protect, command... survive. You are my first miracle."
Lucy’s system tone softened.
[The sac will now maintain Arach in stasis until fully matured. All traits and customization secured. Process complete.]
Maddy’s hands fell to her knees. Her eyes shone with tears, though her chest felt light for the first time in years.
"I did it... I finally have a child... a real child... a monster child, yes, but mine."
The cave was silent except for the gentle pulsing of the Mobile Womb. Every vibration resonated like a heartbeat. Every glow reflected Maddy’s triumph. She finally finished her eldest, and the first seed of her legacy was set.
She couldn’t hold it in any longer; tears streamed down her face.
"You know, Lucy... back on Earth, I was a woman named Madelaine. They called me Maddy because my husband once saw me covered in mud after digging through the ground just to find something to eat... worms. And now... I’ve been reborn as one."
She closed her fingers around the dirt, letting the texture sink into her skin.
"After my husband took care of me, I thought I had to repay him... by becoming the greatest wife he could ever want. I gave up my career as a field zoologist when he insisted we have a child... and I agreed."
Her voice cracked.
"I learned to do things I never cared for... I learned how to paint my face, how to dress perfectly that meant nothing to me, how to show just enough skin to keep his eyes from wandering. I made myself ’sexy’ for him. I mastered the suffocating etiquette of the rich—learning exactly how to walk, how to eat, and how to speak in a way that wouldn’t embarrass him."
She looked down at her new hands, her grip tightening.
"I spent years carving away the parts of myself he didn’t like, just to become a woman who might make him happy. I turned my whole existence into a performance for a man."
She paused, tears welling.
"But everything I did... it was discarded when we found out I was infertile."
Her lips trembled as she bit down until they bled.
"No matter how many times we tried. No matter how many times I prayed. Every test, every failure... it broke something inside me."
Her jaw clenched.
"My husband changed. I kept asking myself how a kind man could become that. How someone who swore vows to me could raise his fist at me. I blamed myself. I blamed the gods. I thought they took away the very essence of being a woman."
She looked at Arach.
"And now, Lucy... I think I was wrong. In this second life, I can give birth without needing a man. I can create life on my own terms."
Her gaze turned sharp.
"What happened to me proved something. A woman’s essence isn’t about giving a child to a man. It’s about having the strength to create life not just a child of your own, but to bring your own life into the world... to fight for what you want, to strive, and to shape your own future."
She wiped her tears.
"And this time... no one gets to define my worth but me. No man will ever ruin my life again—not even with my children."
[Response: Yes, Maddy. Finally... you understand. Your worth is yours alone. You do not need anyone to validate you, to give you life, or to control it. Every child you bring into this world will be a testament to your strength, your choice, your power. This is yours—completely, undeniably yours.]
Maddy swallowed and took a deep breath.
"Lucy... T-thank you. I...I feel lighter. Like a weight I didn’t know I carried is gone. It’s... freeing, actually. I can finally... breathe."
[Your strength is yours. Your freedom is yours. Let it guide you, Maddy.]
Her eyes shifted toward the glowing sac of the Mobile Womb. The faint shimmer of Arach pulsed in rhythm with her heartbeat. She stood, slowly, legs trembling at first but solidifying as determination filled her chest.
"I need to... I need to see him closer."
She stepped forward. The glow from the sac reflected across the cave walls, casting long, distorted shadows. Her eyes narrowed as she noticed something new... a faint, almost holographic countdown hovering in the air above the sac.
[Gestation Remaining: 02D : 02H : 00M : 00S]
"What’s this? A timer? What do you mean, two days and two hours?"
Lucy responded immediately.
[That is the gestation period for Arach. Despite your efforts, the mixture of all the traits you applied—Demonic Ogre, Man Eating Worm, Mineral, Spider, Suzerain Spider—combined to produce a gestation cycle proportional to his magical and physical might. His potential power is immense, and such strength requires additional time to stabilize and mature within the womb.]
Maddy’s brow furrowed as she crouched closer, her fingers lightly tracing the shimmer of the sac.
"You mean... because he’s so powerful, it takes longer for him to develop? So... two days and two hours? That’s... actually... longer than normal?"
[Correct. Most creatures gestate in hours or a day at most. Arach’s magic and might values are exceptional, far exceeding normal limits. The Mobile Womb requires this time to ensure his body and abilities integrate fully and safely.]
"Well... that’s... actually in my favor."
Her hands clenched into fists, excitement rising through her chest.
"I just poured a huge portion of my stored traits into him... basically drained everything. Two days means I can explore the cave... gather more monsters... more traits... maybe even start on another child as soon as he’s born."
