Birthing Legends: My Womb Creates SSS Monsters-Chapter 105: From Family to Colony: Maddy Assigns Roles to Her Monster Children!
The emotional exchange between mother and children lingered for long minutes—crying, hugging, simply feeling each other’s warmth. Maddy’s human form looked small beside their towering, monstrous frames, yet her presence alone was enough to comfort them.
Slowly, she pulled away from the embrace. She sniffed, wiping the last of her tears as she lifted her hands to address them.
"Listen well, my children... this is the first challenge our family has ever faced... Those adventurers didn’t just stumble upon us. They were sent. They received a ’Quest’ from a Guild—a central command. That means the enemy isn’t just a few men; it’s an organization that knows we exist."
Frovian adjusted his stance, his analytical mind already dissecting the data.
"I see... that explains the humans we encountered in the Ribcage Plaza. Judging by the rare materials and the mana density here, these ’Adventurers’ view our home as nothing more than a treasure chest to be looted for their greedy ambitions."
"They’re just like us."
Arach added, his voice deep and grim.
"We harvest monsters for food and Mother’s traits. But they? They hunt, they strip the corpses, and they sell our kind for gold."
Maddy nodded, pulling up the Monsterpedia interface. The blue light reflected in her eyes as she scrolled through the list of everything they had conquered.
[Monsterpedia: Shellgrave Cave]
[Completion: 100%]
[Area 1 (Ribcage Plaza): Grave Goblin, White/Shadow Spirit, Skeleton Soldier, Zombie, Elemental Soul. (Alpha: The Lich)]
[Area 2 (Glow Garden): Mammoth Mosquito, Fang Flies, Bulwark Beetle, Super Snake, Large Lizard, Field Frog, Flame/Torrent/Tremor Toad. (Alpha: Dire Drake)]
[Area 3 (Mineral Hole): Mineral Worm, Man-Eater Worm, Chimera Worm. (Alpha: Wyrm Worm)]
She studied the eleven mana spawning nodes highlighted on the map.
"We’ve cleared it all. Eleven spawning grounds. To us, those were Harvest grounds. To them... they are areas that must be eradicated. I spent so much time thinking this was a world of monsters versus monsters, shaped by the conflicts of Demonic Ogres, Demigod and Dragonborns, that I forgot the most dangerous predator of all: humans who see nature as nothing more than a commodity."
She then remembered how vast the sky was, and how this hell felt impossibly large.
"Today forced me to reassess everything. I will go out and face that world, not just to see it, but to ensure our family stays safe. This won’t be the last time they come knocking. The Guilds won’t tire until they’ve uncovered what we are. And that... that only makes me more determined to stop them before they even reach our door."
Her heart felt heavy.
"We weren’t born to take innocent lives. I never wanted to be a killer. But if the world insists on calling us an ’Abomination,’ then we’ll make sure that word does not define us. We will become the most organized, efficient, and unbreakable society this hell has ever seen. From this moment on, we are more than a family."
She looked at her monstrous, beautiful children, her eyes glowing.
"We are a Colony. And if I am going to the surface, you must first become the true Masters of Shellgrave."
Frovian adjusted his stance, his analytical mind already mapping out the possibility.
"I see. A colony is not a colony without structure. It is merely a crowd. I suspect, Mother, that you are about to assign us our... specialized roles."
"Exactly... In a colony, every member has a purpose. No energy is wasted. No movement is without meaning. You are my children, but now, you are also the Pillars of our Home."
Dyralfa’s tail thumped against the cave floor. Her sharp grin spread across her face, fangs glinting with excitement.
"So we finally get real responsibilities? If we’re building a colony, then give me something worth crushing, Mother! I’ll guard this place so hard not even a fly will buzz without my permission."
Arach stood silently for a moment,
"A colony, huh? That actually sounds amazing. A real home... with structure, duties, and growth."
Sephiran, meanwhile, had been practically vibrating with anticipation the entire time. His war bat rested over his shoulder, but his eyes were sparkling like a child who had just been promised the greatest adventure imaginable.
"A colony... roles... pillars... this is sounding really cool!"
He leaned forward eagerly toward Maddy, almost bouncing on his feet.
"So what are they, Mother?"
His eyes were shining brightly.
"What are the roles?!"
In the dark tunnels of Area 2, the Glow Garden, a shadow moved faster than the eye could follow. It was Arach. His six arms worked in perfect sync, claws clicking against the stone. He used his spider traits to stick to the ceiling, maneuvering in total silence.
Arach reached the edge of Area 1, the Ribcage Plaza. Below, a group of adventurers were hacking away at Skeletons. Their swords clashed against bone, sparks flying in the dim light. Arach watched from the darkness, his six eyes glowing faintly.
Maddy’s voice echoed in his mind, as she were explaining the role.:
"The first role is... The Soldier. The Soldier is the Protector. You are the wall between our home and the world. You ensure no threat, human or monster, comes near the nest."
An adventurer looked up, sensing something, but Arach was already gone. He dove into the soil, tunneling through the earth with incredible speed. He emerged outside the cave, in the Shellgrave Forest.
He shot a thick strand of silk into a high branch and swung through the trees. Despite his massive frame, he didn’t make a sound. He landed on a high limb, looking down at a campfire of humans. His sensing traits tingled; he could feel the vibrations of their breathing through the bark of the tree.
Maddy’s narration continued.
"Absolute Rule! Do not attack first. Observe. If they do not enter our home, they live. We only strike to defend our life."
Arach remained still, a ghost among the rustling leaves. The soil around him quivered slightly, and from beneath, Maddy’s chimera worm head emerged, her multi eyed gaze watching him silently. She gave a subtle nod of approval.
Satisfied, Arach moved on, a silent sentinel of the border, slipping into the next area like a shadowed guardian, unseen but ever vigilant.
