Chapter 62: Chapter 62 Oliver Turner, What Are You Doing
But wouldn’t they still end up growing old together?
Liking someone isn’t the only criterion to measure a marriage; being compatible is the most important."
Faye Townsend looked at him, her eyes exceedingly calm.
"But I, who have experienced a loveless marriage once, will not accept a second loveless marriage.
I won’t tell you to take back your feelings or anything like that.
But I’m making it very clear to you that I will not become husband and wife with you, sorry."
Oliver Turner sneered coldly: "Don’t you think that I could be the best pawn for you to forget about Hunter Warren?
How would you know it’s a loveless marriage if you don’t give it a try?
Sometimes, what marriage really needs isn’t love, but..."
He leisurely set down his coffee cup and suddenly stood up swiftly, pinning her down on the couch.
"Oliver Turner, what are you doing?"
Faye Townsend’s nervous voice betrayed her panic.
Oliver Turner laughed heartily by her ear: "So you do get flustered.
I thought you, Faye Townsend, were a sculpture of ice, forever devoid of emotional turbulence."
"Oliver Turner, I’m not in the mood for jokes right now, get away from me."
Oliver Turner’s expression became more serious: "Do I look like I’m joking? I’m serious.
Faye Townsend, let me tell you, real love is something that’s made."
He finished speaking, and his lips were already descending.
Faye Townsend turned her head to avoid him, and his lips landed directly on the outer side of her cheek.
She was somewhat startled and roared furiously as she flailed her arms and legs: "Don’t, don’t touch me, go away, go away."
Hunter Warren was taken aback by her sudden fierce strength.
What did this woman take him for, resisting him like this?
Had she gone mad?
"Faye Townsend, calm down." Oliver Turner pressed down hard to restrain her.
But the harder he pressed, the louder she screamed.
It was the look of someone thoroughly frightened.
This was a side of Faye Townsend he had never seen before.
Why would she react like this? It’s completely abnormal.
Seeing her pitiable state, Oliver Turner called out: "Alright, alright, I won’t touch you.
Faye Townsend, stop screaming, I’m sorry, I won’t touch you, I swear."
Oliver Turner swiftly got off her, backing away a couple of steps to maintain distance from her.
It took Faye Townsend a long time to calm down.
She sat up, clutching the collar of her clothing tightly while sitting in the corner of the couch, her head bowed as she breathed in and out.
Her mind was in chaos, ringing deafeningly like bell tolls in her brain, her head felt like it was about to explode.
She couldn’t hear anything Oliver Turner was saying to her.
All she knew was that he was talking.
After a long while, a voice finally reached her ears: "What’s wrong with you, should I call an ambulance?"
Faye Townsend swallowed and looked up at him: "I’m fine."
"Are you really alright?" Oliver Turner squatted down in front of her: "Are you sure?"
Faye Townsend nodded.
"I’m sorry, I was too impulsive just now.
I just wanted you to feel some urgency, I didn’t expect to scare you."
Only now did Oliver Turner think to apologize properly.
Faye Townsend looked at him feeling guilty as well; clearly, Oliver Turner had been frightened.
She must have resisted fiercely just now.
There were two blood marks on his arm.
"Your arm..."
"It’s nothing." Oliver Turner returned to his seat on the couch looking at her: "Faye Townsend, why did you react so violently just now.
Did something... bad happen to you before?"
Faye Townsend’s brow twitched, but she quickly shook her head: "No, nothing has happened, I was just... protecting my child."
