Billionaire's Unforgettable Ex-Wife-Chapter 48 Hunter Warren, don’t you think your actions right now are laughable?
Chapter 48: Chapter 48 Hunter Warren, don’t you think your actions right now are laughable?
"Don’t you find your behavior now a bit ridiculous?
What identity do you assume to come forward and help me?
My ex-husband? The man I loved? Or... my best friend’s fiancé?"
Faye Townsend’s words silenced Hunter Warren.
All that remained in her eyes was indifference.
"You are no longer my husband now.
Don’t forget, it was you who proposed divorce first.
You may have a thousand, ten thousand reasons for giving up on me.
But when I needed you the most, you kicked me while I was down; what makes you think that I, Faye Townsend, must be so fixated on you?
What makes you believe that even if you stabbed me and left me bleeding, I would still turn to you for help?
Hunter Warren, if there had been even a flimsy reason for you to show me a little pity back then, not to let go of my hand, I wouldn’t hate you as much as I do now.
Now, I genuinely do not need your help.
Even if Townsend Corp really goes bankrupt, I’ll accept fate."
Faye Townsend gently patted her heart: "This heart has been completely shattered because of you.
Don’t think about doing anything to change the outcome.
I will never forgive you in this lifetime.
Hunter Warren, you remember this—no matter what Faye Townsend becomes in the future, whether I turn out bad or good, it will have nothing to do with you.
So stop playing the great philanthropist.
Seeing your face truly disgusts me, you know."
The elevator doors opened, and Faye Townsend gave Hunter Warren a cold glance before turning and walking out.
Hunter Warren frowned and clenched his fists. She still feels so justified and proud, doesn’t she?
What did she do right?
He gritted his teeth, thinking it was superfluous to meddle in her affairs.
If not for his father-in-law, he would not have bothered with this mess.
He let out a deep sigh and followed her into the meeting room.
The shareholders had already arrived; when Faye Townsend entered, there were only two seats empty.
Oliver Turner rose to meet her when he saw her come in and took her hand.
Under the watchful eyes of everyone, the two behaved even more like a couple.
Faye Townsend suppressed a smile: "Sorry, I’m late."
Just then, Hunter Warren walked in.
The already quiet meeting room became even quieter.
All the shareholders present were astute.
One was the ex-son-in-law, the other the current rumored son-in-law.
The scene of these two meeting ought to be interesting.
Hunter Warren’s expression was cold.
Oliver Turner’s hand naturally wrapped around Faye Townsend’s waist: "You see, there are even later ones than you.
Mr. Hunter, welcome, though it seems you are late."
Hunter Warren ignored Oliver Turner, straightened his collar, and sat down in the seat bearing his nameplate.
Oliver Turner was not offended by the snub, patting Faye Townsend’s shoulder: "Let’s sit down."
Faye Townsend pursed her lips, smiled at him, and nodded, sitting down between the seats of Hunter Warren and Oliver Turner.
Richard Townsend appeared nonchalantly and saw Faye Townsend flanked by two men on each side.
He looked at them both with no sense of propriety and smiled: "Yo, both the former and the new brother-in-law are here?
This is really lively, I didn’t miss any fun just now, did I?"
Not a soul in the room dared to make a sound.
It seems that in the whole world, only Richard Townsend has the guts to speak such idle words.
Faye Townsend’s gaze turned coldly onto Richard Townsend’s face: "No one would take you for a mute if you kept quiet."
Even from a distance, she could smell the alcohol on Richard Townsend, her brows furrowed with irritation: "Sit down and let’s start, everyone is busy."
