Chapter 588: Chapter 508: Stop Coveting Other People’s Things (Third Update)

Long Che said in a deep voice, "The truth is often in the hands of a select few."

Tong Airui shook his head in disagreement, "But could such a disreputable woman really give birth to a child like Luowa?"

"I can’t believe it either! But it is what it is. Rui’er, we can’t look down on Luowa just because of her background. From now on, let’s stop discussing Luowa’s origin and absolutely keep it from spreading outside, to prevent others from maliciously harming her. As for Queen Haotian, I’ll talk to her and have her keep it a secret too."

"Dad, she’s my wife. I’ll love and cherish her well. As for Queen Haotian, she’s such a smart person—whether you say anything or not, she’ll keep her lips sealed. But I still don’t want to give up. I’ll find an opportunity to probe the two people who know the truth."

"Alright, once we thoroughly investigate their stories, we’ll finally let it go." Long Che turned his head to look at his son. "If there’s nothing urgent with the Divine Eagles for the next few days, stay home and spend more time with Luowa. That child, she looks cheerful like nothing’s wrong, but who knows how much pain she’s hiding inside."

Tong Airui nodded, "I’ll definitely help her overcome this!"

The father and son went downstairs. At the dinner table, Long Che paid special attention to observe his daughter-in-law’s expression. She really wasn’t ordinary—if he didn’t know what had just happened, he wouldn’t have noticed anything wrong with her at all.

After dinner, Tong Yao arranged rooms for Queen Haotian and Nancy, while Yi Luowa busied herself until they could rest, before going to her mother-in-law’s room to check on the two children.

When Tong Yao saw her daughter-in-law enter, she reached out and pulled her into a hug. "Luowa, I just heard about your situation. My heart aches for you. Don’t bottle it up. Cry it out—letting it out will make you feel better."

"Mom, I’m not upset, I’m really not... wuu wuu..." Yi Luowa buried her head in her mother-in-law’s shoulder and began to sob uncontrollably. Between her sobs, it took her a while to utter, "I’ve given up. This time, I’ve completely given up. Wuu wuu..."

Tong Yao started crying too, moved by her daughter-in-law’s pain.

Tong Airui came in holding his phone and saw his wife and mother crying together, which made his eyes a little wet as well.

He approached the bed and looked down at his two children, sighing softly, "Your grandma and mom are just a couple of overgrown girls. Let them cry for a while, and you two better not laugh at them, okay?"

Ziyan stared at his mom blankly and ignored his dad.

Sangyu furrowed her little brows and kicked her small blanket aside.

Tong Airui quickly bent down to cover his daughter back up, but when he wasn’t paying attention, Sangyu grabbed his nose.

I’ll pinch it hard!

I’ll dig at it hard!

Little Sangyu tormented her dad while giggling uncontrollably.

Long Che came out of the bathroom and saw his son being bullied. He wanted to laugh but, seeing his wife and daughter-in-law silently crying, he held it back.

Yi Luowa turned her head and saw the father and daughter. Noticing that Tong Airui didn’t resist and simply let Sangyu grab him, she quickly wiped her tears and ran over.

"Sangyu, let go of your dad. If you scratch him, he won’t be able to leave the house tomorrow."

Tong Airui laughed, "Let her grab it. If anyone asks about my scratched nose tomorrow, I’ll say my wife did it."

Yi Luowa glared at him, "I’m not taking the blame for your daughter!"

Finally, Fourth Master’s nose was rescued by his wife. Tong Yao came over to check. "Good thing we trimmed their nails today, or there’d definitely be a scratch."

Sangyu, having lost her fun, waved her little hands for her mommy to hold her.

On the other side, Ziyan pouted and hummed out a noise of discontent.

Tong Yao sniffled, "Go sit on the bed and play with them for a while."

Yi Luowa quickly shook her head and scooped up her daughter, "I’ll sit on the sofa. Honey, you bring Ziyan over."

"The sofa’s so small. How are you going to play with them there? Just use the bed," Long Che spoke decisively.

Tong Airui ignored everything, climbed onto the bed, and laughed, "Wife, Dad has given us permission. Thanks to our daughter and son, we’re allowed on his bed this time."

Yi Luowa gave him a look and sat down on the edge of the bed.

Long Che touched his granddaughter’s head and sat down on the sofa. "Luowa, anyone in your position would be upset. But I know you’re a strong child. Things are what they are now. It doesn’t help to persuade you—you have to come to terms with it yourself."

"Dad, I can come to terms with it. Just now, after letting it out, I feel much better. I still have all of you. I’m not lacking in fatherly or motherly love. In fact, I even have double the fatherly and motherly love compared to others. Honestly, I’m already very happy."
