Billionaire's Long Journey of Chasing His Love-Chapter 558 - 479: Eighteen Updates
Yi Luowa glanced at him—this man turns into a beast every night!
Fourth Brother tired his wife to sleep, then snuck out of bed quietly.
Tong Airui headed to the study on the third floor, turned on the computer, and pulled up the map of Beidi. He wanted to locate that small farmstead. For some reason, he couldn’t shake the feeling that something was amiss.
He searched and searched but still couldn’t find it. Just as he was about to try again, Justus sent him a text message.
Indeed, that small farmstead exists, but it’s not an independent entity—it’s part of the Eurasian Manor, specifically a horse ranch. I’ve sent people to look into it, and it’s confirmed that a woman named Xia Rou and her daughter once lived there.
Tong Airui read the message and replied with two words: Thanks!
Eurasian Manor!
Tong Airui finally pinpointed the manor on the map. It’s near Haotian. If Xia Rou fled from Haotian with her child and settled here, it made perfect sense.
Maybe he had been overthinking. Tong Airui pinched his brow, picked up his phone, and was just about to make a call when the time displayed on the screen stopped him.
However, he didn’t have time to make the call because his phone started ringing.
"Fourth Brother," Maizekai’s voice came through the line.
Tong Airui paused for a moment. "Why aren’t you asleep yet?"
"Neither are you. I knew you were anxious to know the result, so I stayed up waiting."
"Is the result out?"
"Yes. My Fourth Sister-in-law and that person have absolutely no blood relationship."
Tong Airui froze for a second and then shut off the computer with a snap. No blood relationship? Then there’s no need to investigate further! Wherever they want to go, let them go. Finally, no more mental drain.
"Fourth Brother?" Maizekai’s voice tentatively prodded when the other end of the line went silent.
"Thanks for your hard work. Get some rest now."
"Fourth Brother, will Fourth Sister-in-law be disappointed?"
"She already guessed this outcome long ago; she won’t be disappointed. Honestly, I feel relieved—I really didn’t want to get entangled with Haotian. One word to describe their situation: Chaos. Two words? Utter chaos!"
Maizekai chuckled. "How about N words: So f***ing chaotic!"
"Hahaha... Looks like you’re not tired at all. Go get some sleep; staying up late isn’t good for you."
"Alright, you rest early too."
The two brothers ended the call, and Fourth Brother sauntered out of the room, his steps light.
Huh!
Why is the wife here?!
Tong Airui looked at his wife and started laughing. "You heard it all?"
Yi Luowa shrugged. "I told you long ago, I have no relation to her. You just didn’t believe me. Satisfied now?"
Tong Airui wrapped his arm around her shoulder and gently kissed her cheek. "From now on, I’ll listen to you!"
Yi Luowa pushed him away with a laugh. "In the future, if you don’t have anything urgent, stop sneaking upstairs in the middle of the night. When I reached for you and didn’t feel anything, I woke up in a scare."
"Here, you can feel me now—no scares, no scares." Tong Airui said and pointed toward the fourth floor. "Come on, let’s head upstairs for a little fun—you still owe me one hallway battle."
Yi Luowa beckoned him forward with her index finger.
Tong Airui leaned in obediently.
Yi Luowa bit his forehead. "Does it hurt?"
"It hurts~"
Yi Luowa gave him a smack on the head. "Will you still think about hallway battles in the future?"
"Wife, it’s so thrilling... Ow! Ow, ow, ow!"
"Thrilling?"
"Not thrilling!"
Only then did Yi Luowa loosen her bite, pulling his collar as she dragged him to the second floor.
Sang Yu and Zi Yan had just woken up. Long Che and Tong Yao were holding the two babies, about to head to the nursery, when they saw their son being yanked downstairs by his wife. Long Che chuckled.
Yi Luowa quickly let go of Tong Airui’s collar and awkwardly pulled at the corners of her lips. "Dad, let me have these two, you and Mom go rest."
"No need; you two go rest." Long Che said and carried Sang Yu into the nursery.
Tong Yao looked worriedly at the pair. "Are you two waking up or literally haven’t slept at all?"
"Slept for a bit. Mom, Old Seventh sent word." Tong Airui glanced at his son, who was now pouting in discontent, and said with a laugh, "You go take him inside first."
"Alright, let’s get you some food soon." Tong Yao patted Zi Yan’s little tush and then turned to Yi Luowa with a raised brow. "What’s the result?"
Yi Luowa smiled indifferently. "No blood relation whatsoever."
"If there’s none, then there’s none. We’ll keep searching. I’ll take Zi Yan inside—you two go get some sleep." Tong Yao hated to see her daughter-in-law worn down, but she kept herself from showing it too much, afraid that being sentimental might make her cry.
Watching her mother-in-law rush into the nursery, Yi Luowa apologetically looked at Tong Airui. "My mess has thrown the whole household into chaos. None of us are getting proper rest."
"What mess? Don’t say that nonsense!" Tong Airui grabbed her hand and pulled her toward the nursery.
Long Che came out, frowning. "No relation at all, none?"
"None." Tong Airui nodded.
"Don’t lose heart—you’ll find the answer eventually." Long Che stopped his son from entering the nursery. "What’s there to see about babies drinking milk? Go get some rest. Aren’t you working tomorrow?"
Tong Airui grinned. "They’re already drinking milk so quickly? I was hoping to kiss each of them before leaving."
"Want to kiss them? Get up early tomorrow." Long Che shut the nursery door behind him.
With the babies out of sight, Tong Airui held Yi Luowa’s hand and returned to their room.
As soon as Yi Luowa got into bed, she began grumbling. "My back hurts, my legs hurt..."
"Where else hurts? I’ll fix it all at once for you." Tong Airui teased as he snuggled up to her.
"Go to sleep!" Yi Luowa glared at him irritably.
"Grumpy, huh? Means you’re in a bad mood. Come, let me cure your woes."
"No need for your cure—give me a day off tomorrow, and that’ll be enough."
Tong Airui rested his head on her shoulder and gently pinched her cheek. "Planning to find a quiet place to nurse your wounds alone?"
