Billionaire's Long Journey of Chasing His Love-Chapter 535 - 458 I Should Do What I Need to Do (3)
Tong Airui remained silent for a long time, unable to process everything.
"Fourth Brother, do you think this girl and Fourth Sister-in-law could be twins?" ππΏπππ°π²ππ§π π§π²π₯.ππ¨π
"Impossible! Because according to Aunt Ni Luβs recollection, your Fourth Sister-in-lawβs mother only had one child. How much information have you obtained about this person?"
"Not much, but each piece of information is more shocking than the last. She was born on the exact same year, month, and day as Fourth Sister-in-law!"
The same year, month, and day! Tong Airui clenched his phone tightly. It was one thing for them to look alike, but to have the same birthdate too? Could such coincidences really exist in this world?
"What else?"
"Everything happened so suddenly. For now, this is all I know. After reporting to you, I plan to investigate the place where she and her mother live."
"Alright, focus on investigating whether her parentsβ generation have any remaining relatives."
"Got it!"
"If possible, try to obtain something from her for a DNA test."
"That might be difficult for now, as sheβs already living in the palace. But Iβll find the opportunity."
"Stay safe!"
"Understood!" The usually clear-minded Fourth Lord was so muddled at the moment that, despite racking his brain, he could think of nothing more to instruct. He had no choice but to hang up.
Tong Airui sat on the sofa, staring at the photos Little Mule had sent and brooding over them.
Yi Luowa knocked on the door and walked in.
Tong Airui hurriedly put away his phone in a somewhat flustered manner.
Yi Luowa looked at him teasingly, "Youβre hiding photos of little foxes or sprites on your phone, arenβt you?"
Tong Airui suddenly felt a guilty conscience.
The more he acted like this, the more Yi Luowa wanted to tease him, "Looks like youβre really hiding a woman."
"No such thing! Iβll show you something tonight," Tong Airui decided. Knowing thereβs someone who looks exactly like his wife, she had a right to know.
"Go eat dinner quickly; everyoneβs waiting just for you." Yi Luowa reached out her hand to him.
Tong Airui took her hand and stood up.
After dinner, Yi Luowa chatted with Ai Ni for a while before heading back to her bedroom.
Tong Airui was sitting on the sofa again, looking at his phone. Yi Luowa didnβt approach him but went straight to the wardrobe.
"Ai Ni decided to leave with You Jia tomorrow."
Tong Airui lifted his eyelids slightly in thought, then continued to look at his phone.
"Iβm talking to you; didnβt you hear?" Yi Luowa shot him an annoyed glance.
"Sheβs here, and itβs stressing Mom out. Going back is fine."
Yi Luowaβs hand paused slightly as she picked up clothes.
"This might be her last trip home before giving birth."
"If you miss her, go see her. Itβs not even that far." Tong Airui finally put down his phone and looked at Yi Luowa. "If you discovered someone who looks exactly like you in this world, what would you think?"
Yi Luowa shook her head, "Since Iβve never seen one, I wouldnβt know."
"Then Iβm giving you a chance. Come over here, Iβll show you something."
Yi Luowa walked over with a hint of suspicion.
Tong Airui picked up his phone and handed it to her.
Yi Luowa glanced at it and laughed, "Playing mysterious tricks again? Showing me my own photoβwhat are you trying to do?"
"Canβt you tell whatβs different?"
Yi Luowa looked at it again, "This outfit doesnβt seem like mine. Did you Photoshop this for fun?"
"Look more closely at her face!"
"You made my face look a bit rounder; this mustβve been right after I gave birth, a photo you secretly took, isnβt it?"
"Focus on her cheekbones and jawline."
Yi Luowa frowned slightly, flipping through the photos. "This person on your phone isnβt me. Her cheekbones are higher than mine, and thereβs something in her eyesβthose are coldly arrogant but unsure." She chuckled, "Seems like Iβve learned a new term from you."
"Who is she?" Yi Luowa glanced at him.
"Sheβs about to become the goddaughter of the Hao Tian Queen."
"Oh." Yi Luowa handed the phone back to him.
"Youβre not shocked to see someone who looks just like you?"
Yi Luowa nodded calmly.
"There are too many people who look alike. That actor from HKβhis body double looks just like him, even his wife occasionally gets them confused. The other day I saw an article online: Not twins! The world surprisingly has identical strangers."
Tong Airui felt defeated by her composure.
"She was born on the exact same year, month, and day as you!"
Yi Luowaβs calm demeanor broke because of that sentence, "Are you suggesting sheβs my twin sister? But Mom said my birth mother only delivered one child on the day I was born."
"While you were in Ai Niβs room, I called Aunt Ni Lu. I asked her to recall again carefully, and she confirmed that your birth mother indeed only gave birth to one child. So I started wondering, even if this person isnβt your twin sister, could she possibly be a cousinβwhether paternal or maternal?"
"..." Yi Luowa fluttered her shell-like lashes as her heart began to pound uncontrollably.
"Iβve instructed Little Mule to obtain her DNA sample, just to confirm if thereβs any blood relation between you two. If there is, it could bring you closer to finding your biological parents."
Yi Luowa shot him a glance, her heartbeat gradually steadying again. She dared not hope too much, lest her expectations lead to greater disappointment.
"Tell Little Mule to be careful."
"Got it. Honey, thereβs one more thingβsomething thatβs really infuriating me."
Yi Luowa blinked in surprise, "Whatβs wrong?"
"That woman Kai Di played me! I kept trying to prevent her from having a child, but she still managed to give birth."
"She already had a child?" Yi Luowa nearly bit her tongue. How on earth did that woman pull it off?
Tong Airui chuckled softly, "Her child is even older than Ziyan and Sangyu by four months."
"Older by four months? Thatβs more understandable, I suppose. After Kai Di was imprisoned, our people hadnβt been active in Hao Tian for quite a while."
"If it werenβt for the Hao Tian Emperorβs complaint, I wouldnβt have pulled our people back. Even if I hadnβt, she managed to give birth in the Royal Prison without anyone discovering."
"That woman is formidable, her mind too meticulous. She managed to get pregnant under Big Pengβs watchful eye without him noticing."
Tong Airui raised his brows slightly, "Big Peng was fooled by sanitary pads."
"Where is the child now, living with Kai Di in prison?"
"No, the Hao Tian Emperor is raising him in the palace, which has deeply upset the Hao Tian Queen. That led to her pulling this whole goddaughter stunt."
"Of course sheβs upset. This child is the second-in-line successor to Hao Tian. Her son is frail and sicklyβthis child might eventually take his place on the throne."
"Kai Di is the biggest winner on this chessboard!" Tong Airui leaned back on the sofa, glancing at Yi Luowa beside him. "Iβm not happy either. I need some comfort."
Yi Luowa glanced at him sideways, grabbed his collar, and hauled him up from the sofa, "Isnβt it just a bit of trouble? Come on."
Yi Luowa clenched her lips as she dragged Tong Airui into the bathroom.
The Fourth Lord returned to his usual composed self, took a shower, tucked his wife into bed, and left the room.
Tong Airui stood at the doorway, respectfully greeting his father, "Dad, youβre back."
Long Che grunted softly, "Where are Sangyu and Ziyan?"
"They fell asleep after dinner and havenβt woken up yet."
"Havenβt woken up?" Long Che shot him a look.
"Still asleep," Tong Yao said as she stepped out of the room.
Long Che hesitated for a moment, glancing at his son. "Since they arenβt awake, come with me to the study."
Tong Airui nodded and followed his father downstairs.
Long Che turned back to glance at his wife, who was still standing at the doorway, smirking lightly. "Come along as well; otherwise, youβll be eavesdropping anyway."
Tong Yao shot him a glare and turned back to her room.
Long Che shook his head with a smile.
"Youβve been acting quite lazy lately!" Long Che entered the study and immediately grew serious.
Tong Airui smiled faintly, "I didnβt call you or Grand Uncle Mu Ta because I had my reasons. Huo Li was hospitalized and Luowa was scared. Besides, I didnβt report it myself so Second Uncle could."
"Donβt assume I donβt know what youβre thinking. You didnβt call us because you were afraid weβd push the matter for you to handle," Long Che cut him off sternly.
Tong Airui smirked, "Wasnβt that your intention all along? Alright, Dad, donβt get mad. Howβs your side of things progressing? Whatβs your final decision on Park Shunyan?"
"Park Huanyan always acts distant from his son, but when trouble arises, he panics more than anyone else. His position is that as long as he can bring his son back, heβll go to great lengths to compensate the victimβs family."
"I already predicted that outcome, which is why Iβve been avoiding you bothβanger management."
"He brought in a team of lawyers, pulling out precedent cases and historical arguments from every corner. His sole objective is to save his sonβs life."
"Now he starts worrying? Where was he before? Dad, you and Grand Uncle Mu Ta should proceed as you see fit. Iβll handle things how I think necessary."
