Beyond the Bloodline-Chapter 409: The Final Stand
The inescapable net surrounding this planetoid was built both to keep Daniella from escaping and to stop anyone else from getting in to help her.
Battles were breaking out along the edges of the net between those trying to protect her and those determined to capture her.
Daniella fired off dozens of spells every second in every direction, facing what seemed like endless waves of enemies.
Her attacks still carried the same destructive power, and her energy still seemed endless, but her body and mind told a different story.
She was covered in injuries of all kinds, and she’d been afflicted by countless debuffs and curse-type abilities that she constantly had to break free from.
One of her grimoires had even been set aside solely to dispel curses and debuffs cast on her.
But what drained her the most wasn’t the damage to her body, but the toll on her mind.
She’d been running for years, always on the move, and now she’d been fighting nonstop for months.
The exhaustion was eroding her focus, her concentration slipping further with each passing moment.
The Witches’ plan to keep exposing her location again and again through a series of specially crafted spells was working, and slowly but surely, Daniella was being worn down.
◇ ◇ ◇
Each of Daniella’s grimoires glowed with the energy of a different law as they circled around her.
With one set aside solely for handling debuffs, she had six left for actual combat.
One unleashed torrents of blinding light, beams that tore across the battlefield, piercing through space and splitting matter down to the quantum level.
From another, creation energy flowed like a waterfall, spawning enormous defensive barriers in the form of pocket dimensions that existed only to absorb the attacks aimed at her before detonating in a blaze.
Another released burning waves of starry plasma that distorted the linear flow of time, while the one beside it erased gravity wells attempting to collapse the pocket dimensions created by the second grimoire.
Blinding explosions filled the vacuum of space as the laws of destruction, annihilation, and countless others clashed with the creations born from her grimoires. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞
Every clash of attacks between her and her countless assailants warped the fabric of space-time, almost rewriting the structure of existence across light-years.
Then, while casting another barrage, Daniella’s back arched as something struck her from behind, piercing right through her defensive barriers and creating an opening for a debuff to stick.
This debuff existed only for the single purpose of slowing her casting speed by one second, and though that sounded small, it might as well be an eternity to existences moving faster than light.
Her grimoire activated to remove the debuff, but even that purification was a spell, and it too was affected by the slowed casting speed, taking a second longer than usual to activate.
The spells she’d been casting to counter her enemies’ incoming attacks were delayed by the same second, and her opponents wasted no time exploiting that gap.
A barrage of destruction spears tore through the magic circles she’d been creating, colliding with her grimoires and sending three of them spinning toward the ground.
Another volley aimed at her hit directly, tearing holes through her torso, and though she tried to teleport away, a massive gravitational downforce seized her, distorting the creation of the spatial channel created by her teleportation.
The force then concentrated on one leg, dragging her down onto a knee, and while she countered the follow-up strikes that came from above, more attacks hit her from behind, knocking her forward.
Groaning, she summoned her fallen grimoires and conjured several overlapping arrays of light woven from creation law energy, barriers that shielded her from the combined attack descending with galactic force.
Her barriers absorbed the full power of the impact, and she immediately redirected it back toward her attackers, but midway through, someone burst from her shadow with daggers drawn and slashed toward her.
Daniella detected them at the last moment, and with no chance to cast anything, she used her grimoire itself to defend, blocking the dagger before kicking them away physically.
The kick’s force, however, was reflected back at her, sending her hurtling through the air and crashing through several rocks before a beam of light hit her, slamming her into the ground and carving out a crater.
More attacks followed, but she managed to block them using her sacrificial dimensions, forcing herself up from the crater as blood streamed from her wounded body.
She staggered to her feet, one hand pressed against her side while her remaining grimoires hovered around her, and above her, dozens of Assimilation Realm existences gathered their cosmic energy, preparing a combined strike.
At the sight of this, Kaiser immediately raised his hand, cosmic energy gathering around him as he prepared to intervene, consequences be damned.
Seeing this, his generals and subordinates froze in momentary shock before quickly snapping into action, sounding the alarms for battle and ordering all forces to take their positions for the imminent clash between Supreme existences that would surely follow once Kaiser acted.
Those on the opposing side also sensed the shift in atmosphere, and just as the confrontation was about to erupt, an overwhelming pressure descended upon the entire planetoid.
"!!"
!—!
The immense force slammed every being, both on and above its surface, flat into the ground, smacking them deep into the crust.
Regardless of rank or Realm, whether Law Echo, Phantasmal, or Firmament, all were crushed down by the same crushing cosmic pressure.
Every single attack that had been launched by anyone was instantly consumed by purple flames, burning away into nothing within a second.
At the sight of those flames, Kaiser’s eyes widened in recognition, but before he could speak, space above the planetoid ruptured.
A streak of blue light tore through the sky and plunged toward Daniella’s position, striking the ground with a deafening explosion that sent shockwaves rippling through the terrain, flinging the already-fallen assailants into the air.
As the dust and smoke cleared, Jamie stepped out from the impact zone, his breathing heavy as he rushed forward, slowing only when his eyes landed on Daniella’s wounded figure.
The moment Jamie appeared, Miranda arrived physically at the scene as well, her gaze instantly locking onto him with visible concern.
Seconds later, Sarina appeared too, accompanied by a host of angels and demons gathered from across the universe, and with their arrival, the Supremes, who had been hiding within the folds of space, began to reveal themselves.
The tension was now higher than ever before, and one of them, a Grand Supreme clone of an Integration Realm existence still outside the universe, spoke with a sardonic grin.
Well, well, well, it looks like the main characters have finally shown u—
You!
Jamie’s loud voice cut him off as he turned toward the man with a furious glare, his eyes glowing in a gradient of blue and red while he pointed directly at him and spoke.
Shut up and wait.
The fury in Jamie’s eyes was so clear that even a blind man could have seen it, and without waiting for a response, he turned and began to walk forward as he spoke.
Imperial Privileges: Second Privilege—Space + Third Privilege—Reality.
He clenched his fist as he declared, and a metallic clinking sound echoed across the galaxy as the fabric of space for several million light-years fell completely under his control.
Not even the ’Universe’ itself could command its own space anymore.
Every existence that had been concealing themselves within the folds of space was forcefully expelled into the open, and the aspect of the Concept of Space that allowed traversal through its fabric was temporarily erased from Reality.
The Grand Supreme who had been interrupted by Jamie frowned, his cosmic energy rising as he tried to speak again, only for a hand to appear out of nowhere and clamp over his mouth.
"Didn’t you hear the man?"
Necrotic energy coursed up Sarina’s arm and into his face as she spoke. "Shut up and wait your turn."
The others near the man tried to attack Sarina, but she raised her other hand and summoned her spear, its tip aimed at the neck of one while countless replicas appeared across space, each poised to pierce the necks of the rest, their points glowing with cancerous life energy.
At the same time, Miranda expanded the reach of the cosmic pressure she was exerting on the planetoid, extending it far beyond its surface as her gaze shifted toward Jamie, who was practically boiling with rage.
