Becoming the Villainess: I Dominate the Cultivation Realm with My Wok!-Chapter 411: Deaf or Dragon?
The Fifth Prince saw his mother and burst into tears, snot and tears streaming down his face, resembling a small child crying loudly; even now, the little flower cried more neatly than he did.
"Woo woo, Mother, save me!!"
The Empress’s face instantly showed concern, completely different from when she faced the Second Prince.
But it makes sense; if it were the same, how could the Second Prince be scorned by all the Princes? Even the Crown Prince sympathized with the Second Prince, probably because this Empress simply couldn’t hide the difference in treatment between her own child and the child the Emperor forcefully placed in her arms.
"How dare you be a demonic creature? Quickly return my child! My son is a dragon child, your actions will bring retribution!" The Empress saw the palace attendants behind her were immobilized in a strange posture, so despite her heartache for the Fifth Prince, she dared not approach.
The Second Prince couldn’t help but chuckle: "Mother, aren’t you being a bit too hasty? Failing to distinguish between a celestial being and a demon creature, if not for those behind you being immobilized, it might have turned into a laughingstock." 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎
Cen Lizhui seized on a blind spot: "The Fifth Prince is deaf?"
"How dare you! It’s not ’deaf,’ it’s ’dragon child’!" The Empress flared up in anger, yet dared not act rashly.
Disdain showed in the Second Prince’s eyes; besides her illustrious maternal family, the reason this woman could become an Empress was because she shared genuine feelings with the Emperor in her youth, though later, those feelings seemed laughable when compared to the Imperial Concubine, highlighting the Empress’s sense of urgency.
Truly pampered since childhood, yet even the Imperial Concubine had more bearing of an Empress than she did. For back then, her family chose to send her older sister into the palace, but who knew that the younger sister charmed the Emperor in secret, thus disrupting everything.
The Empress hadn’t actually received education on how to be a good Empress; hence, she, being the greatest legitimate mother in the world, couldn’t manage the Princes fostered under her care.
Unlike the Second Prince, who harbored many convoluted thoughts when facing the Empress, Cen Lizhui simply furrowed his brows: "First deaf, then not deaf; could it be that the Fifth Prince is deaf in one ear?"
The Fifth Prince momentarily forgot to cry; he stared in awe at the young celestial being before him. A celestial being’s mind... surely different from a mortal’s! Of course, this celestial being might have seen the real child of a dragon, how could he regard him, a mere ’dragon child’, as noteworthy?
The Empress was furious and yet worried about her son, with no one behind her to rely on; she turned around and left, only casting a final remark: "You all wait for me! I’ll find someone right away!"
Cen Lizhui inexplicably thought that if it were Chen Muxue hearing such words, she would surely add some bizarre remark like "fetch a cart of bread men."
She said bread was a delicious pastry, and she hadn’t yet made it for him to try.
"Quickly tell me where the underground altar is; if you don’t, I’ll kill you." Cen Lizhui’s face was expressionless, and his tone was calm, yet his words made the Fifth Prince tremble with fear.
Instead, Cen Lizhui’s flat tone without any inflection made it even more believable that if he didn’t speak, Cen Lizhui might actually kill him, so under the watchful eyes of a crowd of palace attendants holding a ’ready to move’ posture but unable to act, the Fifth Prince, like a chased pig, shrank his neck and obediently led the two away, out of the sight of the palace attendants.
After Cen Lizhui and the others had walked for a while, the despondent palace attendants suddenly felt their bodies relax, instantly freed from the bind; they all collapsed to the ground, feeling lingering fear.
