Chapter 49: Settling Scores

"Where to?" Damon turned and asked him.

"I have some business to deal with," Alex replied without stopping.

"Have you forgotten that you don’t know your way around here?" Damon asked him, expecting him to stop but he didn’t.

"Then I’ll just take your servant with me," Alex said to him and left completely. As he left, Damon clenched his fists while trying to calm himself down.

Alex left the place and headed straight to Mikasa’s room. Without bothering to knock on the door, he pushed the door open and caught Mikasa naked.

"What the hell!" She yelled and abruptly grabbed the blanket to cover her body.

"Get dressed quickly, we have some place to go," Alex said to her and went to stand by the window. He faced outside, not bothering about her.

"O-okay," Mikasa muttered and began to wear her clothes. Her face was red from embarrassment, and she didn’t know how to face Alex even after wearing her clothes.

It was after a while that Alex turned around and saw her standing there with her head lowered.

"I want you to take me to Atticus’ place. I believe you know the place," he said to her.

"Y-yes, I do," she replied with her head still lowered.

"Then let’s go," Alex said and began to leave. After walking for a while, he stopped and tilted his head. Using his side eyes, he saw her still standing at one spot. "Hey, you coming or not?" He asked her and continued to walk away.

"I-I’m coming," she mumbled and ran after him. As she ran, she softly slapped her cheeks and said. ’What were you thinking, Mikasa?’ She thought with a slight frown on her face. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢

After they arrived outside the mansion, they halted and Alex turned to face Mikasa.

"How do we get to Atticus’ place?" He asked her.

"How are you aware that we know his place?" She asked him, seeming a bit surprised.

"Well, I just guessed," he replied with a shrug. "Take me to his place right now," he demanded.

"But what for?" She asked him.

"Do you want to be treated like a servant before you realize that you are no more than that?" He asked her with a glare. The sudden question made her gasp and she lowered her head with her shoulders dropped.

"N-no," she muttered in reply.

"Then take me to his place and stop questioning me!" He ordered her and she had no choice but to lead the way.

If there was anything she disliked, it was been ordered around by someone not her Master but the problem now is that Alex has become someone who shouldn’t be messed with. If she decides to go against him, she may end up dead, and her Master won’t be able to do anything about it. She had no choice but to do as commanded.

"His place is far from our home," she made him know.

"I don’t care as long as I get to see him," he replied with a straight face.

Mikasa wondered why he was so eager to see Atticus but she could not ask him because it was not in her place to do so. Her job was to take him to Atticus’ place and that, she was going to quietly do. They soon boarded a cab and she told the man where they were heading to. Fortunately, she took some change with her, or else they would have been stranded already.

During the journey, Alex had his eyes closed, and Mikasa kept staring at his face. After the awakening, she would not lie about the fact that he became more manly and handsome — he improved in his height, his hair changed, and even his body features were altered.

’The bloodline must be powerful’ she thought to herself.

"If you keep staring at me like that, I’ll have to gouge your eyes out," Alex suddenly said to her. His eyes were still closed so how did he know that she was staring at him?

Nevertheless, she still apologized because it was rude of her. "I’m sorry," she mumbled and looked elsewhere. Not only did his outward appearance change, but even his attitude changed — he has become more cold and uncaring.

The rest of the journey was serene, no one said a word to each other and Mikasa never for once turned to look at Alex again after being warned. She could only stare at his reflection on the window, that was how she knew that his eyes were still closed.

Finally, they arrived at the place and alighted from the cab, and after paying the driver, he drove off.

"Lead the way," Alex said to Mikasa who glanced at him and silently led the way into the building. The place had no gate, just an entrance door that opened up for them, allowing them to enter without having to knock.

The first person Atticus saw was Mikasa and it had him wondering why the girl would suddenly visit him without her master but then he saw the silhouette of a person behind her. He got up from where he was seated and that was when he saw him.

"Wo! Wo! Wo!" He exclaimed seeing the new Alex. "To what do I owe this surprise visit? And what’s with the change?" He asked them. Alex walked past him and went inside the house leaving Mikasa with no choice but to do the talking.

"He said he wanted to see you," she replied with a tired expression on her face.

"Huh? And why is that?" Atticus asked as he followed them inside.

"Take me to Lucien’s place. I have some unfinished business with him," Alex finally replied.

Mikasa gasped but Atticus was pretty calm, though there was a change in his expression. This made him remember what happened to his older brother, the Dean, and his entire school.

"How were you not involved in the massacre?" He asked Alex who glanced at him.

Seeing the look on his face, Alex sighed. "I don’t have anything to tell you. If you are so eager to know, take me to your half-brother’s place, I have so many scores to settle with him," he replied.

"I’m afraid not. I can not take you to him," Atticus replied and turned around.

"Why?" Alex asked him.

"He’s too strong and cunning. I Won’t be able to protect you when the time comes," Atticus replied.

"I’m not asking you to protect me because there will be no need for that. It’ll only take a while before I kill him," Alex said and then Atticus turned to face him again.

"What makes you think I’ll let you kill the only brother I’ve got left?" He asked Alex and the latter scoffed.

"If you want to die along with him, I’ll gladly kill you too," he said to him, and after a while, he breathed out before continuing again. "I don’t wish to have problems with you but my patience is freaking running away."

As Atticus gazed at Alex, he noticed that so many things had changed about him. And for a reason, he felt scared talking to him — this was something he had never felt before. And talking about Lucien, who says he didn’t want to kill the bastard? This is the same person who killed his family members and his only remaining brother, what makes him think that he wouldn’t want to kill him? The only thing he was concerned about was the level of his strength — Lucien was pretty much stronger than all of them three and that’s why he was yet to revenge for what he did to his older brother and his school.

"Hey, I know what your problem is but don’t worry, I will be kind enough to bring his head to you. You can do whatever you want with it just take me to his place this minute," Alex said to him, pulling him out of his endless thoughts.

Seeing how confident Alex was, he decided to stop being worried and do what he said. If he sees things going south, he’ll just take him and escape somehow; with this in mind, he agreed.

"I’ll take you, come with me," he said to him and cast his spell; space manipulation. "We will be using this to make the journey quicker," he said and went in. Alex went in and Mikasa followed next, there was no need for her to stay behind.

Soon, they arrived at the other side — before a building and headed in. As they went in, Atticus would occasionally glance at Alex to see if there was a change in his expression but there was none. This made him believe that he had indeed changed.

"I’m going to make things quick and I’ll be violent. If you don’t want to be affected, find somewhere safe and stay," Alex said to both him and Mikasa. Just after his little warning, they got into the house, and the first thing he did was place his hand on the wall with his eyes closed. The next moment, all the walls began to crumble and everything began to fall until the whole house was flat on the ground.

During this time, Atticus was fast enough to cast a spell above him and Mikasa or they would have been buried alongside the debris from the building.

"Is this boy mad?" He mumbled in bewilderment.
