Chapter 56: Chapter 56 - High-level Healing

The moment they stepped through the dungeon’s barrier, a familiar glow from mana lights appeared in front of them.

At the same time, a fresh breath of air ran through their noses, making them all smile.

’It almost feels surreal that we made it out,’ Theo thought, smiling faintly. ’With everything that happened.’

Just then, the healers at the front stepped aside, revealing a small jeep parked in the tunnel.

Iris and Emma didn’t even hesitate, immediately jumping on the back.

’’A jeep?’’ Owen muttered beside him. ’’That’s way better than walking up this damned tunnel again.’’

Theo nodded slowly, taking his weapons off his back.

Without another thought, he climbed up the back of the jeep too and sat down beside Iris.

’’Hey,’’ he said, smiling as he looked at her.

Iris returned the smile and nodded once.

Owen climbed on right after him, letting out a relieved sigh as he leaned back slightly.

"Finally," he muttered. "My legs were about to give out."

The jeep’s engine immediately roared to life, quickly moving the car forward through the long tunnel.

Everyone remained silent during the drive.

Finally, a faint glow grew brighter and larger in the distance.

’The surface,’ Theo thought, leaning back in the jeep. ’Finally.’

The instant the jeep crossed outside, bright natural light flooded their vision.

Theo and the others narrowed their eyes, raising a hand for a brief moment as they adjusted to the light.

When his eyes finally got used to it, the scene in front of him came into focus.

Military vehicles were lined up around the entrance, young soldiers moving between them.

The entire area had been transformed as if they were preparing for something.

’’Amazing,’’ Theo couldn’t help but mutter.

But the jeep didn’t stop at this area; instead, it drove all the way to the back of the camp.

’’We’re going to one of the best healers here first,’’ Iris explained softly.

She hesitated for a moment.

’’After that... we need to write a report about everything we’ve seen.’’

Theo nodded once, his expression turning slightly more serious.

"Yeah... figured that was coming," he said.

There was no way the military would brush something like this off.

Owen let out a low groan from behind him, slumping further against the side of the jeep.

"Can we at least not do that immediately?" he muttered. "I feel like I’m about to pass out."

Emma let out a quiet breath, clearly just as exhausted.

"I doubt they’ll give us much time," she said. "With something like this... they’ll want to act fast."

Iris didn’t respond immediately.

She knew exactly how everyone felt, yet she also understood that there was no other way around it.

A minute or so later, the jeep slowly came to a stop in front of a large building.

One of the soldiers immediately jumped out and flung open the back, allowing Theo and the others to jump off the jeep.

After dropping down, the four of them were quickly guided inside by one of the soldiers.

As they stepped through the doors, a somewhat familiar face greeted them.

’That’s the healer from last time?’ he thought, tilting his head faintly.

Iris also froze for a second before a wide smile grew on her face.

’’Rea,’’ she said softly. ’’You were called here?’’

The tall woman wearing a lab coat smiled and nodded once.

’’Of course,’’ she said. ’’After hearing what the little lady went through, I had no choice but to rush back here.’’

Her gaze snapped past Iris, landing on Theo and Emma first.

’’Come on,’’ she continued, gesturing to a chair. ’’Sit down so I can take a look at you.’’

Theo nodded, walking over and lowering himself into a chair.

The others quickly followed his example, sitting down in chairs beside him.

Rea quickly got to work, lowering herself in front of Emma first.

A bright green glow came from her palm, enveloping her entire body within seconds.

The scarring on Emma’s leg healed in an instant, as did the other wounds. Even her complexion returned to how it was before entering the dungeon.

’’That should be good,’’ Rea said, smiling softly as she straightened again. ’’I filled in some of the missing blood; your body will do the rest.’’

’’Thank you very much,’’ Emma said, politely lowering her head.

Rea simply smiled, her attention already on the next person.

’’So, I see you’re here again,’’ she said, lowering down in front of Theo. ’’With the little lady that is.’’

Iris immediately lowered her head, a faint tinge of red spreading across her cheeks.

As for Theo, he scratched the back of his head, smiling awkwardly.

’’Yeah...’’ he said. ’’But things didn’t really go to plan this time either.’’

Rea chuckled, a faint green light immediately spreading over Theo’s body.

A gentle warmth spread through him, mending all the wounds it came across.

What had been just a temporary fix by the other healers was completely regenerated in nearly an instant, even removing any scarring.

As the faint green light vanished from her palms, she narrowed her eyes for a moment as she stared at Theo.

’’You are a very peculiar boy,’’ she said, narrowing her eyes. ’’The little miss is very lucky to have found someone like you.’’

Hearing that, Iris’s mouth fell open, unsure what to say.

As everyone turned to stare at her, her gaze dropped to the ground as her face turned red.

Rea chuckled, quickly moving on to Iris to get her healed.

The gash on her head visibly mended, the scar fading just like it had for the others.

Finally, Rea stopped in front of Owen, one of her eyebrows raised. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎

Before she could start, Owen raised his hand and coughed once.

’’Could you maybe leave the scars?" he asked quietly.

Rea stared at him strangely, then shook her head faintly with a small smile.

’’If that’s what you wish for,’’ she said, a gentle green light flowing from her palm.

’’Thanks,’’ Owen said, grinning.

But as the green light enveloped his body, Rea’s expression immediately changed.

Without wasting a second, she cut open the clothes around his chest.

’’You...’’ she muttered, taking a step back. ’’What is this?’’

Theo and the others finally got a good look at Owen too, their eyes immediately widening.

Three giant stripes from the wolf’s claws sat on his chest.

But unlike normal, they’d been sealed shut by rock.

’’I’ve never seen anything like this...’’ Rea muttered, shocked.
