Becoming Secret Nanny for Possessive CEO-Chapter 46: Happy With You
Still, Edith didn’t believe Arabella’s nonsense because she knew Arabella’s trick to incite her to break up with Callum. Since she first met Callum, she always saw the side of Callum who was actually a good man. Seeing everyone who wanted to separate her from Callum, made her want to protect Callum from all danger and in fact she would be the one to investigate the case of the accident she experienced five years ago. Now that more memories are coming back to her, she is even more eager to reveal the truth.
Meanwhile, Arabella, who had walked out of the restroom first, encountered Callum pacing back and forth outside with a troubled expression. She was disgusted by the sight of that anxious expression, which was actually directed at Edith. The only way to ruin their relationship was to ask Diana for help.
"Why are you the one coming out of the toilet?!" Callum snapped with a furious look.
Arabella responded with a furious face as well. "Am I not allowed to leave the restroom?! You weirdo!"
"Did you hurt Edith in there?! Did you make her cry?!"
"Callum, I can’t believe you still choose that bitch after she left you for five years!"
"If you hurt her, I’ll cut ties with you! We’ll never meet again as business partners!"
"Don’t you care about losing everything for that woman?" Arabella laughed sarcastically, shaking her head. "You’re such a fool for being blinded by love!"
"I don’t care! I only care about Edith. Only she can make me happy."
Edith had actually overheard Callum and Arabella’s argument from inside the restroom. A sweet smile remained plastered across her beautiful face, watching her lover’s increasingly dashing charm as he defended her. After the argument ended, she decided to leave the restroom, wearing a mask to conceal her identity.
When Arabella had left Callum’s presence, Edith dared to return to her lover, embracing his hand tightly.
"Callum, I want to go home now."
Callum hugged his lover, patting her back rhythmically. "Did that woman really hurt you?"
"I’m fine. But why do you think that woman will hurt me?"
"Because it’s a long story. If I tell you everything now, we won’t get home."
"Then you can talk at home. No one will hear our conversation, and I can take off my mask."
"Yes, actually I hate seeing you wearing a mask because I can’t see your beautiful face!"
Upon arriving at their home, Edith was finally able to remove the mask that had been claustrophobic. Besides, she preferred having fun with her lover at home rather than in public. Now she could chat with him as much as she wanted before bed. She also wanted to tell him what happened while she was in the restroom. She had promised herself that she wouldn’t hide anything from him anymore.
Callum was actually curious about what had happened to his girlfriend, making her smile so persistently. Were the two women really not arguing in the restroom? He leaned his head closer to his girlfriend’s tiny face.
"Edith, what exactly happened to you while you were in the restroom? Why do you look so happy? Didn’t that woman really make you cry?"
"More likely I actually managed to make her angry."
Callum’s eyes widened and his mouth dropped open. "Really? But how are you going to deal with that cunning woman? You must have a hard time dealing with her."
"Actually, at first she wanted to provoke me, but I remained confident in my desire to maintain our relationship. Since you’ve treated me well all this time, I naturally have to repay your kindness."
"But, apart from that, do you really think of me as your boyfriend?"
Edith nodded. "I really like a man who tells me the truth from the start."
"Edith..."
"But, I’m actually curious. Why did you immediately consider me your fiancée? Even though you’ve never proposed to me."
"Because I’ve always wanted to propose to you at the right time even though I’ve never proposed to you, I’ve always considered you my wife."
Her cheeks grew even redder at her lover’s overly sweet expressions of love. She found it increasingly difficult to sleep, feeling like she was in a dream world. She grew increasingly anxious that when she woke up tomorrow, she would lose him.
"I overheard your argument with Arabella and Cliff earlier. You don’t care about losing everything you have now. Don’t you regret it?"
"No. I won’t give you to anyone."
"Callum..."
"Besides, wouldn’t the twins allow you to marry another man?"
"But, were you the one who asked them to support you? Why do they seem so smart about bringing us together?"
"Our twins know that we should get married. Even those who keep pressuring me to marry you."
Edith chuckled, gently stroking her lover’s soft cheek with a twinkle in her eye. "Looks like I’ll have to give the kids more sweets."
"Didn’t you previously not allow them to eat too many sweet foods?"
"If they did something so big to get our relationship back together, of course I should thank them. After all, it’s thanks to them that I got to meet you."
Callum pressed his lips to her forehead for a few seconds. "I’m also really happy to meet you without breaking a sweat."
"Therefore, from now on I will try so that my heart is not easily swayed anymore. I will not be easily incited by anyone."
"Edith, I know your heart will not waver because I have known you for the past five years."
"Actually, I overheard your conversation with Cliff earlier regarding the DNA test results. I already have the results."
"So, what’s the result? Why are you so quiet?"
"Actually, the result will make you angry. But I deliberately hid it from you so you two wouldn’t fight. I haven’t told Cliff about this either."
"Why? Don’t you trust Cliff more than me?"
A sweet smile spread across her beautiful face. "Who said I trusted him more? In fact, I’ve trusted you from the start."
