Callum was curious about Yvette’s reaction to the question. If she didn’t react, it was safe to assume she was the one who sent the two thugs to attack Edith earlier that afternoon. This was the main reason why he suddenly wanted to have dinner with her.

Seeing Yvette’s seemingly casual reaction, Callum became even more convinced that she was the culprit. However, he maintained his composure to avoid being caught. All he could do now was show off his handsome face.

"Actually, there’s no need to ask. I already know what she’s up to. Edith’s been very busy lately, and this has nothing to do with her."

Callum nodded, still wearing a haughty expression. "So you’re the type of woman who doesn’t like small talk."

"Edith is a loner. Whenever she’s busy, she prefers to do everything herself and handle things her way. So, now I just let her go rather than having us constantly fight over this."

"Edith told me about it. She wants you to pay attention to her sometimes. Even though she looks strong on the outside, her heart is fragile." Callum grinned at Yvette, who was still enjoying her steak. "I want you to stop being so cold to her."

"Since when did I become cold to her? Now I want to play tennis with her every week."

A heavy sigh escaped his lips. Callum twirled his fork slowly over the steak. "To be honest, I’ve been feeling lonely today because Edith’s been so busy with work. That’s why I asked you to join me for dinner."

"Really? But when I look at you, you’ve always been together."

"But lately, she’s been ignoring me. Even my assistant is taking care of my twins now." Callum looked down in resignation, shaking his head. "Ever since she became famous because of our wedding, I feel like our relationship has grown apart."

Callum deliberately said those words to further tempt Yvette. Because she might do something even crazier than before. This would make it easier for him to get her to confess all her mistakes.

"Don’t you hate her because she’s too selfish?" Yvette asked with a sly smile.

"Actually, I still find it hard to hate her because I only love her."

"If I were you, why would I care about that woman anymore? I would definitely find someone better than her."

"If that’s the case, doesn’t it seem like you’re being unfaithful to the person you love?"

Yvette folded her arms and raised her head haughtily. "Because I don’t like dealing with people who don’t respect me."

"It turns out your principles are very strong. I like it." Callum raised his wine glass with a broad smile. "I’d like to toast you. I look forward to working with you."

"Of course. Because you’re better than Cliff."

After dinner with the sly woman who made him want to vomit, Callum immediately rushed to visit his little family, who were still staying in the VIP room. When he entered the hotel room, everyone was already asleep. He slowly walked over to his fiancée, who was sleeping like a sleeping beauty, making him feel a little guilty. Although he had promised to end dinner early, Yvette had unexpectedly stopped him.

Callum slowly lay down on the bed and wrapped his arms around her curvy back. His lips landed on her temple, and her fiancée immediately turned to face him, opening her eyes.

"You haven’t slept yet?" Callum asked in a whisper.

Edith shook her head slowly. "I told you this afternoon. I’ll go to sleep after I see you again."

"Sorry, I didn’t keep my promise because Yvette held me back earlier. Luckily, she kept her cool."

"It’s okay. The important thing is that I can still see you and feel your sweetness."

"Did you like the dinner I ordered earlier?"

"Of course. I heard the food you ordered earlier was the most expensive and best in this hotel. From appetizers to dessert."

Callum gently stroked his fiancée’s cheek. "I don’t want Yvette to be the only one enjoying this sumptuous meal. I want you to enjoy it too."

Edith smiled faintly, gently stroking her fiancé’s soft cheek. "Thank you for remembering me, darling. I really enjoyed all the food you ordered. Even the kids loved the cupcakes and ice cream."

Callum kissed the red lips in front of him for a moment. "I missed you. I really didn’t want to have dinner with that creepy woman."

"What happened?"

"She’s the one who sent those two thugs to attack you. I was just trying to test her, wondering why she didn’t ask about your situation. But she just changed the subject."

"I thought so, she must be targeting me because the longer our relationship goes on, the more intimate it becomes, which makes her jealous."

"Yvette told me that I should find a better woman than you. I told her earlier that our relationship was growing apart because you were too busy working."

Edith laughed awkwardly, gently patting her fiancé’s chest. "I’ve cared about you so much all this time. Even since we parted, I’ve been longing for your embrace."

"Yvette seemed really happy to hear what I said earlier. So, I want us to keep our distance for a while. Do you mind?"

"No. If I were your main goal, I definitely wouldn’t stop you from doing it."

"You are so sweet whenever I talk about kissing."

"By the way, do you mind if I keep you here until I fall asleep? I don’t care if you haven’t showered yet."

"I don’t mind because I haven’t had enough of being spoiled by you."
