Becoming a God Starts with Acting-Chapter 458: Return to the Land of Light!
As Bael had promised, early the next morning, a void gate appeared in the sky above the center of Bael’s citadel, filled with chaotic darkness interwoven with light. This was the gate leading to Chaosland. Moreover, only Silvanus’s group—those who had received Bael’s permission—could step through this gate.
Bael used his sleeve to wipe away his tears, calling out repeatedly with a deeply moved expression, "Is it really unnecessary for my army to accompany you all?"
Silvanus said nothing, merely waved his hand, then flew toward the gate. Below, the sound of gongs and drums rose once more. Bael spread open his fan and danced a farewell for the heroes of he, and there even seemed to be drifting singing voices fading into the distance—but no matter how hard one tried to listen, nothing could be heard clearly, as if everything were nothing more than an illusion.
As the gate before his eyes drew closer and closer, Silvanus spoke softly, "On the other side, danger follows upon danger. Everyone, stay close to each other and don’t break away from the group."
"Understood."
The group responded quickly. Darkness and light wrapped around them as the gate, surging with energy, rapidly closed—bringing their journey in the Land of Darkness to an end as well.
"Remember to come visit me!"
Bael shouted. Within the mist, the corner of Silvanus’s lips curved up slightly as he softly replied, "We definitely will..."
The moment they entered Chaosland, what greeted their eyes was thick fog enveloping everything. They could almost only see what lay beneath their feet; beyond that, their gaze could not extend even a little further.
To other intruders, the Sentinels within Chaosland were a nightmare, but at this moment, Silvanus’s group advanced smoothly, not encountering the slightest obstruction.
No one knew how much time passed before the fog ahead of them finally dispersed. They emerged into a region of light, with a glass-like surface beneath their feet reflecting scenes of darkness. High above, two suns were entwined together, inseparable, radiating dazzling light that carried no warmth, merely illuminating the land below.
Behind them, there was no trace of fog left at all—only an expanse of void stretching endlessly. Nick, his eyes brimming with tears, looked around. He truly hadn’t expected that now they would be the ones actively returning to this place. Thinking back to the circumstances when they had first entered here, he couldn’t help but move a little closer to Silvanus, blinking as he looked at he.
Sensing Nick’s gaze, Silvanus couldn’t help but look back with a hint of confusion, but in the end, he still said nothing.
Walking beside Marax, Asta couldn’t help muttering, "So how exactly are we supposed to find the exit like this?"
At that moment, Silvanus suddenly turned to look at he and asked probingly, "Can you retract your horns, wings, and tail?"
Asta blinked at Silvanus, burning with the urge to protest. If he retracted those, what would he have left to show off in front of Marax?! How could a perfect male possibly be without such features!
But Silvanus didn’t spare a thought for he’s feelings and simply continued, "And after we reach the Land of Light, it’s best not to use any dark magic unless absolutely necessary."
As he spoke, he looked at Nick. "Teach him a few light magic spells."
A demon using light magic—this really was the joke of the century!
Asta glared furiously at Nick, who immediately shot he a fierce look in return. "If you’re following the boss, then you listen to the boss!"
Asta snorted coldly. "I’m following Marax!"
No sooner had he finished speaking than Marax turned to look at he and said softly, "Then do as Silvanus says."
Just moments ago, Asta had looked like the sky was about to fall. The instant Marax spoke, his tail began wagging like a fan, nearly smacking Nick in the face. He said enthusiastically, "Of course! It’s just light magic, right? How hard could it be!"
And reality promptly taught Asta a brutal lesson.
He felt that Nick was definitely taking this chance to get personal revenge—otherwise, why would he be completely unable to learn it no matter how hard he tried?!
As for Nick, he felt like his head was about to explode. The two of them arguing nonstop made the back of the group unbearably noisy.
In the end, Nick ran over to Silvanus to complain about just how stupid and unreasonable Asta was. Meanwhile, Asta clung to Marax’s arm, resting his head against Marax’s chest, only feeling how soft it was—while also not forgetting to squeeze out two pitiful tears.
Seeing he in this state, Nick only wanted to punch he a few times.
Cain chuckled, lifting one hand to lightly touch Asta’s hair, then suddenly said softly, "Actually, Asta’s attacks from Diamond are a bit unusual, but they’re not really dark magic either. Under normal circumstances, Asta can prioritize using that ability."
Asta immediately nodded vigorously, his eyes sparkling as he looked at Marax, feeling that in this world there truly was no one better than she.
Nick felt that Asta was being completely fooled by Marax. If Marax had already thought of this, then why hadn’t she said it before Asta got scolded? And yet Asta was still drowning in the illusion of love—hmph!
Asta continued showing off nonstop, completely unaware that in Nick’s eyes, he had already turned into one of Marax’s expendable pawns.
Nick then glanced at Nerio, who had been leaning in Marax’s arms and sleeping soundly the whole time, and couldn’t help asking Silvanus with some concern, "Is it really okay for Nerio to keep sleeping like this?"
Silvanus said, "As long as he doesn’t dissipate, it’ll be fine."
And so, the group headed toward the pillar of light. Since they already knew the way out of Chaosland, their path was entirely unobstructed.
Very soon, the pillar of light was right before their eyes, but this time, the gate was completely different.
The towering, majestic gate was like the entrance to heaven. Just like the gate leading to the Land of Darkness, the gate to the Land of Light also had cloud-like steps that led up to a smaller gate high above.
Asta said with some interest, "If we go up these steps, can we reach a city in the sky?"
A place where life is eternal alongside the universe, a place of legends that turn the dead into the living...
Cain chuckled. "You might not reach the place you want to go—but the chances of falling into hell are very high."
Asta and Nick both looked at Marax in shock, clearly wanting to hear more, but once Marax finished speaking, she did not say another word.
Silvanus stepped forward to the gate and decisively sliced open his palm, letting fresh blood seep into every groove of the mechanism. At this moment, his hair had returned to a golden hue, and his emerald-green eyes gleamed like gemstones—this was his human form.
The mechanism accepted only hobbit blood, but even in this form, Silvanus was still the key.
A deafening vibration echoed throughout Chaosland as the heavy gate slowly opened, light surging forth and pulling everyone inside.
He... had returned.
No one could decide where they would land after passing through the gate.
Just like last time, when Nick and Silvanus were hurled down from the sky, this time was no different.
Asta stared around in shock. The sky was actually blue, and the clouds were white.
And below them wasn’t a wasteland at all—humans bustled back and forth. Oh gods, had they fallen directly into some citadel? Was there no barrier above this place? How strange.
Silvanus’s calm voice rang out, "Fly as usual first, then look for an opportunity to land."
After a while, from an inconspicuous narrow alley, a group of four figures in black cloaks emerged. They didn’t stand out at all among the crowd, since most Hunters on missions dressed this way.
"Nick, take Asta to buy some clothes. Marax and I will look for an inn."
Nick was still bound by Silvanus’s blood contract and could hear Silvanus’s instructions directly in his mind, so there was naturally no worry about losing track of each other.
Asta, however, was clearly very reluctant to separate from Marax, looking utterly dejected—until Nick spoke up: "Anyone who didn’t know better would think Marax was your mother."
Asta instantly bristled. "What did you just say?!" Then, as if thinking of something, he muttered, "Of course... if she told me to call her mama, that wouldn’t be so bad either..."
Nick: "..."
Even though he’d long since decided Asta was beyond saving, Nick still couldn’t help the twitch at the corner of his eye. Damn it—this was genuinely terrifying.
The crowd flowed through the streets. On both sides were all kinds of stalls selling fruit and food, an endless variety, with small alleys leading into ordinary residences.
Multi-story buildings lined the way, resembling elegant teahouses.
On one of the buildings, a companion noticed Nana constantly looking down at the street and couldn’t help smiling as he said, "The streets here are really livelier than in Luminous."
Nana withdrew her gaze and said nothing.
