Became a Demon with Pregnancy System-Chapter 57: Conquering Tina Baine
"Wait a minute..." he squinted. "A female assassin? And one I recognize?"
The delicate hands were soon followed by an unmistakable pair of... attributes. Only one person had such distinctive features that Luke could never forget.
"Tina?" he said, his voice rising in disbelief.
Sure enough, the soft hands, followed by a soft frame, revealed the unmistakably cute face of Tina Baine.
"Tina, what are you doing here at this hour?" Luke asked, his voice a mix of confusion and amusement.
He recalled their last encounter at the Mu family villa, where Tina had staunchly declared that she wouldn’t compete for attention in a "harem." Yet here she was, creeping into his room under the cover of night. Had she changed her mind?
Tina placed her right index finger in front of her lips, signaling him to stay silent. "Shhh," she whispered dramatically, her voice barely above a whisper. "Can’t a girl visit without raising questions?"
Luke chuckled softly. "Of course, Ms. Tina, your visit is most welcome. Though..." he leaned forward slightly, teasing, "this timing is rather curious."
Tina huffed, crossing her arms. "I told you, I repay my debts! Tonight, I’m here to pay mine."
"Debts?" Luke raised an eyebrow.
"Yes, debts!" Tina replied, her face flushed. "What Marissa can do, I can do as well. I won’t be outdone!" She closed her eyes tightly, standing stiffly like a soldier bracing for battle.
Her outfit wasn’t helping her composure either—tiny hot pants and an overstuffed Pikachu tank top that seemed ready to burst at any moment. Her nervous but defiant demeanor was almost too much for Luke.
Luke, usually composed, couldn’t help but smile. "You’ve really thought this through?"
When Tina didn’t respond, Luke leaned closer, noticing her trembling frame and the blush creeping up her neck. Though her face remained stubbornly set, her nerves were evident.
"Fine," Luke said softly, his voice teasing. "But just so you know, once you’re my woman, there’s no going back."
Tina’s cheeks turned an even deeper shade of red, but she didn’t pull away. Her silence was all the confirmation Luke needed. 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺
The night passed in an uncharacteristically quiet manner. Luke had experienced many things in his life, but Tina’s spirited personality combined with her shy vulnerability made for an unforgettable memory.
The system chimed in his mind just as the first rays of dawn peeked through the window:
[Ding! Congratulations to the host for successfully conquering Tina Baine. Reward: Poison Star Map.]
Luke smirked at the system’s notification. It seemed even the universe was pleased with his achievements.
Marissa woke up feeling refreshed, though she blinked in surprise at the sight of Zoe’s face hovering near her bed.
"Zoe?" she asked groggily, rubbing her eyes. "What are you doing in my room?"
Zoe looked equally puzzled. "I felt a tremor last night, like a small earthquake. I came to check on you because, well..." she trailed off, her gaze dropping to Marissa’s stomach. "You’re in a delicate situation."
Marissa blinked. "An earthquake? Here in the Demon Capital?"
The notion seemed absurd—earthquakes were rare in this region. But the look on Zoe’s face made her pause.
"What about Luke?" Marissa asked quickly. "Was he okay?"
Zoe waved her hand dismissively. "You know him. The house could collapse, and he’d walk out without a scratch."
Still, the two women decided to check on Luke. They tiptoed to his door and gently pushed it open.
What greeted them left both women momentarily stunned.
Inside the room, the aftermath of the night was painfully obvious. Clothes were strewn everywhere, and a pair of red lace undergarments dangled from the bedpost. The bed itself was in complete disarray, the sheets a tangled mess.
Both women instinctively gasped.
Marissa quickly pieced together what had happened. "Tina," she muttered under her breath, closing the door quietly.
Zoe looked equally flabbergasted. "She... actually went through with it?"
Marissa sighed. "Let’s just leave them. They’ve had a... busy night."
Zoe nodded absentmindedly. "I’m not even surprised. But still... wow."
When the group gathered for breakfast later, Tina seemed back to her usual energetic self, tearing into a fritter as if nothing had happened.
"Marissa, Zoe," she declared, her voice cheerful as ever, "I’m officially your little sister now! If Luke ever bullies us, we’ll band together and show him who’s boss."
Marissa smiled gently. "Don’t worry. Luke won’t bully you."
Tina, however, wasn’t done. "I don’t know. I think we should still stick together. You know, protect him since he’s the ’best’ man in the world."
Luke raised an eyebrow, his grin growing wider. With Tina around, the atmosphere in the house was noticeably livelier—and far more chaotic.
"Luke," Tina began, her voice suddenly serious. "Are you busy in the next few days?"
"What’s up?" Luke asked.
"It’s flood season, and demons have been spotted near the Crimson Abyss River," Tina explained. "I heard rumors that some have even slipped through to the Bund. It could be a great chance for us to train."
Luke perked up at the suggestion. "Demons, you say? Why didn’t you mention this sooner?" He shoved the last of his dumplings into his mouth and stood up. "Let’s go!"
The girls stared at him, bewildered by his sudden enthusiasm.
"Come on, what are you waiting for?" Luke urged. "People could be dying out there!"
As the group headed out, Luke was struck by a small but significant realization: he had no idea what the Bund actually was. Having spent most of his time deep in the wilderness, he’d assumed it was a beach, teeming with tourists and bikinis.
Instead, he found himself staring at the massive Crimson Abyss River, its murky waters churning ominously.
Luke groaned audibly. "No beach? No sea? What’s the point of calling it the Bund, then?"
Tina laughed at his disappointment, but their amusement was short-lived. A piercing whistle shattered the air, emanating from the Demon Oriental Pearl Tower.
Moments later, a blood-red light shot into the sky, signaling the arrival of something far more sinister.
From the depths of the Crimson Abyss River, a massive, dark golden pincer emerged, splitting the waters with a thunderous roar.
