Beastmen: She Tames the Land-Chapter 73: The excitement after the blessing

"Thank you," Visha said as she got up.

Stepping out of the circle. She called Xeno and Uri, telling them they could have someone take the food now.

The pack members took the deer and other things to deal with them so they could eat. This would be their first meal in their new home after receiving the blessing.

Everyone went about what they needed to do. Butchering the deer and cleaning the vegetables. The melon was rolled to the side for them to eat later.

The pack was unusually silent as they went about their duties. The only sounds were those of Kit and Nimo playing and the sounds of chopping and scraping.

The three deer were placed on a spit to roast. They didn’t need to ask Visha for help this time. On the road, they learned what seasoning to use to make the meat taste good.

The first to break the silence was Chi. "Why is everyone so quiet?" She asked. Her voice reached everyone’s ears.

Willa, beside her, gave her a strange look.

"What? I’m not wrong! We just had a blessing ceremony, and everyone is acting as if someone died. Celebrate! Do something!" Chi’s hands flailed as she spoke.

Willa laughed, seeing the way she was acting. She responded to Chi.

"We were in awe. We have never seen a ceremony where the response was like that. At most, the fire would grow a bit before returning to its original position. But we have never seen colours move around or an offering disappear."

Chi was silent for a moment before letting out an exaggerated, "Huh? Then what kind of ceremonies do you have?"

"You talk as if you’ve seen more," Willa chuckled.

"Of course I have. I’ve seen the sky rain colours. I’ve seen trees leave the ground with their roots and leave. I’ve seen an entire village disappear because of the sins they committed." Chi talked as if everything she said was a matter of fact.

But every word made the pack afraid and in awe.

"Where are you from?" Will asked.

It was a question that had never been asked before. Since their time in the cave, they still didn’t know much about the couple. They were getting closer. This was the first time they spoke about the things they might have seen.

"Don’t worry about where I’m from." Chi winked, "If your priestess does a good job, you might be able to see it one day."

Then Chi started humming, like her words didn’t just throw everyone off kilter.

The males who were listening turned to Krag when Chi finished speaking. They were hoping he would give more context. They wanted to know more. Visha’s ceremony already left them in awe. The respect they felt for her had grown.

Now Chi let them know that they might be able to see the scenes she claimed to have seen one day, they couldn’t help wanting to hear from Krag.

However, Krag, true to his nature, only looked at them with a blank face.

It wasn’t until he felt their eyes burning holes into him that he finally spoke. The sentence was short but devastating.

"If she becomes stronger, you can see it."

The silence that had filled the air had completely left. Now, everyone was trying to get more information out of Krag and Chi. They didn’t actually expect to get anything. They only wanted to tease and see what would happen.

Visha watched them playing together and smiled.

After the blessing ceremony, she got a notice from the system. She hadn’t checked the system for a while, so she decided that since everyone was busy, she would take a look.

She saw the stage section on her bond with Uri and Xeno. It was at stage 2. She wondered how many stages they would go through. And if there were stages, how much stronger would the bond become? Would anything change significantly?

Visha didn’t realize how long she had sat against the tree until Xeno and Uri came over with her food.

"Is something wrong?" Uri asked softly. "Your feelings are all over the place."

Visha rubbed her temples. "It’s because I only just discovered how much work we’re going to have to do."

"What work?" Xeno asked, already eating.

"Running a pack," Visha said as she rapped on his forehead.

"Why are you thinking about that now?" he questioned.

"Let’s just say the blessing gave me some insight." She looked at Uri, "You are going to have a lot of work to do."

Then she picked up her bowl and started eating.

Her gaze was trained on the pack, but really she was looking at the new task the system assigned.
