Beastmen: She Tames the Land-Chapter 198: Good or Bad News
Over the next two months, the caldera became warmer. Spring was welcoming the greenery outside the caldera. The Warm Pack, River Clan, and the Stone-Horn tribe continued their trade. Unlike before, the Warm Pack had no intentions of currently branching out.
In the past two months, everyone has been focusing on cultivation. Though their lives are simple, they do not lack food, shelter, or clothing. The things they trade with the other tribes are currently more than enough to meet their needs.
As those who weren’t sure about practicing begin to see the results of those who are, they grumble about not being able to join. Visha has heard them more than once. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚
She doesn’t address it because, whether they grumble or not, they made their choice.
But she knew that some were learning from others. It wasn’t a crime. There was no need to hide. She assumed they were ashamed.
In the past two months, there have been more and more plants leaving the vicinity of the maw. Some are extremely hostile. Others appear to be nomadic, not bother others, and move from one place to another.
Visha, Uri, and Xeno talked about it. They concluded that because the crystal from the sanctum is gone, the barrier will soon completely cease to exist. The plants that were hidden in the maw now have free rein of the continent.
While this is not a threat to their pack, the same cannot be said of others. But they have no intention of taking care of other packs.
High on a ledge, overlooking the caldera, Visha, Uri, and Xeno sit cross-legged. Visha had told the pack before that posture did not matter. It was true. However, Visha, having grown up in another world, was using theposture she had always heard of.
It carried a sense of familiarity for her. And because her mates had seen her do it so often. They themselves have begun to do the same. Others in the pack have also begun to emulate them.
As the trio sat side by side, the air around them began to change. It became charged. There were visible swirls of energy rushing towards them. The energy entered their bodies.
It not only revitalized them but also changed their bodies. It circulated their internal organs, making them stronger. It circulated under and over the skin, making it tougher.
Xeno’s muscles seemed to expand and contract. He was already muscled, yet his body had a tendency to become even larger. Uri had always been lean; his body hadn’t changed much. But the musculature was becoming more prominent.
Visha’s body was also changing. When she first arrived, she was somewhat petite. Her body filled out as she took on the priestess role. Now, her body was becoming more sensual.
These changes indicated that the trio was breaking through from the Crest Stage to Manifestation. This was where their bloodline truly starts to show. They receive traits from their ancestors.
Colour aura circled each of them. Xeno had a continuous swirling yellow aura. Uri’s aura was dark green, almost becoming black. Visha’s aura was a delicate lavender colour.
For three days, the trio sat in this position, their bodies changing, their energies shifting. Until their energies blended. A simultaneous exhale marked their journey into the third stage, Manifestation.
The three stood and inhaled deeply. The energy travelled from their nostrils into their bodies.
Xeno’s body did not enlarge. He became more toned. He exuded a majestic and powerful aura. He was well proportioned. His body was mighty. A feast for the eyes.
Uri’s body was firm, with well defined muscle. His body was limber. His aura was restrained. But his eyes spoke volumes. They were dark and intelligent.
Visha became more sensual. Her every move belied a seduction she did not need to force. Her aura became more refined. Her eyes could captivate.
They jumped down the ledge. With their current strength, there was no need for them to walk. They used vital energy to slow their descent.
As they came down the mountain, they saw Fil waiting. When he saw them, his body tensed. An unconscious movement. But the authority rolling off the three of them forced others, not as powerful as them, to stop.
"Ba," Xeno’s baritone shook his father from his thoughts.
"Official business, kid," Fil said before giving a respectful bow. "Tribe leaders, Priestess. The River Clan comes bearing news. They seem anxious."
"Lead the way," Uri responded.
They moved quickly. The River Clans’ men were waiting at the door of their home. Though they stood upright, the way their eyes darted around and the way they twiddled their fingers. It told the trio this might be bad news.
"Tribe leaders, Priestess," a man stepped forward. His name is Josed. Visha remembered because he was a person close to Mira.
"Is the River Clan alright?" Xeno asked.
"Yes, yes, it’s fine," Josed answered quickly.
Visha opened the door, inviting them in to sit. No sooner had she opened than there came a voice behind them. One of their pack members was leading Gorn towards their home.
The trio exchanged a glance. For Gorn to come, there must be an issue. Their eyes shifted to Josed once more, but they did not say anything openly. It was best if they all sat down to talk.
Gorn paused in his approach. He surveyed the trio. He could feel there was something different about them. His eyes lingered on Visha briefly before steering away. His ears turned red.
"Gorn," Uri called out. "Since you are here too, we may as well talk, all of us."
Gorn looked at Josed, who nodded. It was obvious they were confirming that both of them were here for the same reason. The trio saw the acknowledgement between the two males and wondered what it was that had them in such a tizzy.
Whatever it was, it was able to cause both the Stone-horn and Rover Clan to panic. They could see Gorn had the same nervous energy.
Entering the house, the trio asked them to sit.
"So what brought you here today?" Uri asked. He poured both males a cup of water.
Both males opened their mouths and said...
