Beastmen: She Tames the Land-Chapter 174: Second trial begins
Opening her eyes, Visha saw Uri and Xeno standing not far away. They were in the same position she had seen them when she first arrived at the pillars. She immediately saw the changes in both men. She especially saw that Uri, who was missing an arm, now had two.
She smiled widely when she saw this. Running up to him, she jumped into his arms. He prompted wrapped both arms around her, smiling down at her.
"Well, don’t you look sexy," Visha quipped. "Both arms and new hair."
Uri opened his mouth to respond when she felt herself being yanked away from Uri and found herself in Xeno’s arms. She saw his pouting lips. She leaned forward and bit his bottom lip.
"Alright, don’t pout, and get that thing away from me," She swatted at her bottom. She felt Xeno’s length poking at her.
Wiggling out of their arms, she stood in front of them both.
"How was it?" she asked.
"Before we answer that, I need to know. Are you alright?" Uri asked.
She saw his eyes flicker to her hair. She smoothed it and answered.
"It’s okay. We can talk about it later." She reached out and touched his arm. "Let’s get through this first, before we do anything else." Her eyes flitted to Xeno. "We’re all worried about each other. But I think now isn’t the time."
Uri reached out and hugged Visha. Although he did not show how worried he was. He was genuinely worried when he saw how injured she was. Now that she was standing in front of him, bubbly like never before, he felt the need to touch her.
This was his own way of making sure that what he saw was real.
"Then...when everything is over, we need to sit down and have a serious talk. I am still upset about what you did," Uri said softly.
"Definitely...mate." Visha flashed a smile when she said it. A promise of something much more than a talk.
She kissed Uri on the cheek, stepped to Xeno, and did the same.
"Both my men need to be treated equally." She turned to face the building. "Now, let’s go."
Xeno nodded. Uri squeezed Visha’s fingers, then nodded.
The trio turned to the building. Now, they needed to go inside. What they experienced was only the first trial. Another trial awaited them inside.
Standing between them, she gave them both a reassuring nod before stepping to the entrance of the building. They follow, flanking her left and right.
As soon as they entered, they felt the pressure. If the exterior was purpiseful, the interior was sacred. The inside was large and circular. The walls looked as though they were formed from a fusion of stone and roots. They did not clash with each other but appeared to grow smoothly intertwined with each other.
The interior was a muted gold. Light would bleed in through what appeared to be random openings in the building. The interior hummed with some sort of power. Visha could only assume it was vital energy.
The ceiling arched above them. Interlocking stone secured the ceiling. One would expect that without any nails or other items holding them together, the stones would fall. Instead, they held each other in place, playing their own part.
At its highest point is a crystal shaped like a teardrop, slowly rotating. The floor is polished black stone inlaid with three concentric rings. Each ring is etched with glyphs which appeared to be carved into the stone.
As soon as they stepped inside fully, the entrance closed behind them. Visha turned at the sudden closure, but did not move towards it. The further they walked, the more they saw.
This room did not depict beasts. Different drawings were depicting different things. They saw two figures fighting back to back. Two figures standing apart but connected by a thread. Three figures, forming a closed circuit.
As they stared at the pictures, the building began to vibrate. They do not hear a sound, rather they feel it.
Did your heart choose your mate...or was your mate chosen because solitude seems unbearable?
The floor splits into three sections. The building did not become bigger, but the distance between them widened. They are still able to see each other, but the distance seems to widen without having to do anything.
The distance widens so much that the bond feels muted. This was not their first time with this feeling. They knew that when they were away from each other, the bond would feel different. But before they could understand what was happening, they felt the bond sever.
Visha stiffened, her mouth dropping open and her heart pounding. Xeno’s eyes went wide. He turned from Visha to Uri; he could barely see them both. Uri’s heart felt as if it had been cut. Going from feeling both to feeling neither was something he never hoped would happen. His body went ramrod stiff.
The shock had just slapped when they received another blow. Each of them saw images of what their life could possibly be like without their mates beside them.
Uri stood in a chamber. Plans, contingencies, probabilities, all laid out on tables and walls. He goes through wars and disagreements. He fights for his people all on his own. In every scenario, he is victorious. In most, he stands alone.
Xeno stands on a battlefield. His enemies have all died. There are no threats towards his people or his territory. Visha and Uri stand behind him, not beside him. Their figures seem small as they watch his victories. And with each victory, they become smaller.
Visha stands in a sanctuary. The place is calm, undisturbed. Uri and Xeno stand off to the side. They are talking and laughing. Their lives seem peaceful. She is unable to get close to them. Not once did they appear to notice her.
What will you do? 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚
The sound echoed. Is he willing to relinquish control? Does he share in domination? Has she become too dependent?
These are questions they need to answer on their own.
