Beastmen: She Tames the Land-Chapter 134: The Howl that shook the world
Unbeknownst to the pack, that howl did more than cleanse their soul. The energy rippled outward without them knowing. A new world is about to open to them.
After an amazing celebration, the pack went to sleep. They felt light; however, they still had work to do. Many loose ends needed to be tied up. The matter of Lyra’s parents is still an open topic. The threat of the Stonefang Pack is very real.
They need to prepare for the eventualities. Moving slowly is not something they will be able to do anymore. Yet the matter of people still looms over their heads. Biron is already checking the ore they have. So far, there have been three different ores.
But having the ore and not being able to manufacture is a problem. Unless they begin exchanging ore for the finished product. They did find a place that might be used, but they would need to build a forge there. If possible, using the newcomers might not be a bad thing.
However, as with everything in life, time is a factor.
The following day, Visha woke up thinking about everything that had happened. The previous night, during the celebration, Chi fulfilled her promise and showed Lyra her parents. She took out an item similar to a knowledge shard.
Visha knew it wasn’t a knowledge shard because of the slight colour difference. As for what it was, she could not begin to guess. She also didn’t use the system to check. This was their own privacy. When Chi used the shard, they were amazed to see it could transmit images. The mysteries of Krag and Chi once again stunned the trio. It also stunned Cato and Lyra, who had been there.
After the amazement had passed, Lyra looked at the two people who were on the bed. She confirmed it was her parents. The two people were definitely enjoying themselves and didn’t have a care in the world about their daughter, who was sent on what could have been a dangerous mission.
Lyra cried when she saw the evidence.
She never thought the people she had loved for so many years would be so heartless. As sobs racked her body, Cato could do nothing but hold her close. He knew there was nothing he could say that would make her feel.
Lyra sulked, trying to come to terms with the fact that she had been tricked.
Days went on like this.
Summer was coming to an end, and winter was around the corner. The twelve people who were brought back integrated, and now they were laughing and playing with the rest of the pack. They were eating regularly and no longer looked sickly and malnourished.
With the threat of the Stonefang pack looming, Uri had Biron and some other pack members dig a tunnel. It would be the escape route for their people. They may not want to fight a war, but that does not mean that others would see their view.
The tunneling was in full swing.
Another team went around hunting to ensure they had food for the winter.
Lyra has been staying here, and the Stonefang pack has not received any reports. Kaelen has seen them circling near the caldera.
Not only are they circling, but there are others circling as well. Whether these people are friends or foes, they are not sure. It is only known that they keep eyeing the caldera.
Along with the Stonefang Pack, which kept circling, others were coming to the mountain. The number of people coming was at times overwhelming. Kaelen’s aerial patrol was taking longer and longer each time. It got to the point where they needed to ask a quiet beastman named Rilla if he was willing to take additional shifts.
These people were becoming a nuisance. Especially after Fil came back to tell them about an encounter he had with these people.
Fil and Willa had been outside the gate. They were looking for some herbs. They wanted to go back and plant them, so they didn’t need to go outside the gate and meet the newcomers. Luck was not on their side, however.
Fil scented the newcomers approaching quickly. He took a defensive stance. Willa was bent down picking the herbs they needed. By the time she was finished, it was already too late for them to leave.
These people approached, and Fil could see that they were on guard, just as he was. Even if they wanted to pretend they were harmless, he would never believe it.
"Who are you?" Fil asked, looking at them carefully.
Their clothing was different from anything he had seen before. The material was wrapped around their bodies, and large shawls were draped over their bodies to make the clothing seem loose.
Their leader was a female. Her eyes were expressive. She was almost as tall as Fil, and her body was slender. "We mean you no harm. We only want to find the source of the lights. Our priest has pointed us in the direction, but we are not sure where to go. I wonder if you can help us?"
"Lights?" Fil asked, confused. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦
"Yes, the light of many colours that filled the sky some time ago. Did you not see it?" There was suspicion in the woman’s eyes.
Willa spoke, her voice barely a whisper, "Coloured lights with a howl?"
The clearing was quiet enough for her voice to be heard.
"So you saw it?" The woman’s eyes lit up. "Can you tell us where you saw it?"
"I don’t know," Willa said quickly. She hinted to Fil that she wanted to leave.
They didn’t wait for the woman to continue the conversation; they said a hasty goodbye and left towards the pack. Fil sent a pack link to everyone in the caldera. He needed to tell them what was happening.
They now knew the reason for so many outsiders visiting. As for how they would deal with it. This was something he could only leave for the leaders to decide.
