Beastmen Love-Chapter 174: Why is Hard, How is Easy
Chapter 174: Why is Hard, How is Easy
He stopped walking, and she stopped walking too and looked at him, who was deep in thought.
"I was always different. Since I was young. My mother and brothers always said to me that I would end up dead or alone. My mother only accepted my father because of his kind and he wanted an heir. The only one who told me never to give up being who I am was my father." Bono says, looking down.
"You have a great father." She smiles.
"But how can I erase this doubt and fear from inside me? It’s a fact that it’s here." He asks, looking at her.
"Remember who you are. We’re different, so let’s think differently!" She says.
"Differently?"
"Yes! All great leaders think differently from others. Beat up whatever is bad that is holding you." She says, slapping her own arms and brushing away something from her.
"Beat up?"
"Yes! Beat up! Wake up!" She chuckles and slaps his arms and chest, impressing him with her strength.
It was actually a funny scene to see. She had to jump to slap his chest, and he chuckled at her.
"See? You’re way too tall, but that didn’t stop me from beating your doubts away."
"That’s true.. But it’s different with the King. He’s at least 5 marks stronger than me. I can’t defeat him if he decides to attack us." He sighs, getting worried again.
She slaps his arms again, but stronger.
"Ow.." He softly says, rubbing his arm where she slapped him.
"I don’t have marks, and I can beat any male. A number is just a number. You’re different, Leader Bono. Think differently. There’s Greatness in you. You just have to see it. What can kill you is not him or anyone; it’s your own fear. Do you think your mother and brothers were right?"
"No.. They’re not." He softly answered.
"I didn’t hear you."
"They’re not right." He repeats.
"Say what?" She asks, showing her ear.
"They’re not right!" He says louder.
"About what?"
"I’m not useless!"
"You’re not useless!"
"I’m worthy!"
"You’re worthy!"
"I’m smart!"
"Very much! You better believe it!"
"I don’t want to be like others! I want to be more!"
"Yes! You are more! Now beat the doubt and fear from you."
He slaps his arms and chest like she did. frёewebnoѵēl.com
"Yes!! Embrace who you really are, Leader Bono. Even if the odds are against you, I’ll put my bets on the greatest dinosaur I ever heard of." She says, and gives him her staff.
"Your staff? Why are you giving me this?"
"It’s a symbol. Not for use always, if you don’t need." She answers.
"Galion said you use to train your mind."
"Yes. I use it for many reasons, but the biggest reason is that it makes me think from a different perspective. A different point of view. Different ways of finding a solution. With a staff, I could find a way to keep my mind balanced, how to use it for supporting, for keeping others away, to attack in another way. It’s a symbol. You’re different from others, so use it to remember that and to find your way again. Try it. Walk with it until we find Caris and Carist, and see what it will show you."
He’s still a bit confused, but he decides to do what she said and goes back, walking and holding the staff.
"Don’t you need to use it for support?" He asks, worried, remembering she’s pregnant.
"No. If I was at the latest stage of the pregnancy, maybe. Don’t worry." She answers.
They keep walking in silence for some time.
"I still don’t think I’m no King."
"Then don’t be a King. What do you want to be?" She asks.
"I just want people to live in peace."
"Do you want to help people?"
"With what I can, yes. But not taking the responsibility of a King. A King is always taking others’ powers. I don’t want that."
"You have the wrong idea of the concept of being a King. I can’t blame you. You only met a King that is an evil bastard. A King is everything you want to be. A true King wants peace. A true King doesn’t want to overpower others. He only wants to use what is good in him to bring good things to his people."
"Well... That wasn’t the idea of a King I learned.. That’s good to hear."
"You will overpower evil, though." She smiles at him, and he smiles too.
When they see a cave far away in the meadows, Astri thinks it would be better to go flying to arrive faster, but she doesn’t want to force her belly with the air pressure.
"How beautiful is this, though? Look at this. I can imagine your kingdom growing here." Astri smiles, looking at the scenario.
"All this? It’s too big. Don’t you think?" Bono asks.
"Your kind will keep growing with your leadership and influence. Through you, people will change and won’t keep dying. Your kind will not end because of you. I know it sounds like a big responsibility and might feel like a heavy weight on your shoulders. However, just being your real self will help people to grow. Don’t think about only a Kingdom, but the whole kind."
As they walk, she tells him about Aquaterra and how they’ve been living for so many years. They’re an advanced kind because they fed their minds with good things, such as that there’s nothing that can stop someone from making a difference.
Astri felt a little nauseous, so she started the smell herb she brought inside her little pouch.
"Are you all right, Lady Astri?" He asks, worried.
"A little nauseous, that’s all. You can call me Astri."
"Astri.. Do you want to stop?"
"No. I’m fine. My first pregnancy was way worse than this in terms of nausea."
"All right.."
They walk in silence for some time. She looks at him, and his face shows he’s thinking on several things at the same time, trying to find an answer that is hidden somewhere he can’t see.
"May I know what you’re thinking?" She asks.
"Well.. you can read my mind. It will probably be disappointing."
She slaps his arms, and he shrinks, passing his hand on his arm, soothing the burning sensation.
"Don’t belittle yourself like that. If you don’t beat that out of you, I will." She smiles.
"How can you be so strong and so small?"
"I like talking to people. I only read the minds of people I don’t want to talk to."
He smiles, blushing a little bit again.
"You told me to think differently. I was trying to find the way." He admits.
"Don’t pressure yourself like that. First, you need to have a vision of what you want. When you have the why answered, then how to do it is easy."
"The vision of what I want?"
"Yes. When you know what you want, the right questions come naturally. For example, I wish to draw books for children to help them develop their minds. How can I do that? Practicing drawing. Buying paper, paint and tools for that. How will I know if they will like it? Trying to see through their eyes. Thinking like a cub. When we were building the United Tribes, I envisioned a place that was safe. That the people would love to be there and naturally would protect each other and their home. Cubs would grow strong and protected. Families would grow strong and united. I started to question how we could do that, and we started doing it."
Now he clearly sees a path, as it magically opened up in front of him, because he wishes for the same. However, he sees her on top of that, too.
"So? What do you envision?"
"The same or better than United Tribes.. A Kingdom worthy of your presence."
She smiles, nodding. Now, she touches his arm in a supportive way.
"Good. Anywhere is worthy of me since there are people like you, Leader Bono."
He smiles, blushing again and looking forward again.
"Call me Bono. If I should call you Astri, then call me Bono."
"Thank you. You will do just fine, Bono. Believing in yourself will take you anywhere you want to go. Remember one thing: a Monster can poison someone’s mind because they were weak. You left when you noticed the evil growing and the King being corrupted. That tells a lot of how stronger you are."
Her words, little by little, are healing him, and he can’t hold the feeling of deep care for her and deep honor to be hearing her.
"You need to forgive her, Bono. I know she was selfish, and the main reason for the pain you have inside your heart. She had what she deserved. But if you don’t forgive her, this useless weight will just become heavier as time passes." She says.
He knows she’s talking about his mother, and after this talk with her, he feels ready to move on.
"Not for her. But for me." He smiles.
"Exactly!"
"Thank you..."
