Beastmen Love-Chapter 170: Prayers Were Heard

Otto is taken by surprise when he doesn’t smell the bad scent it always had and also sees that the tribe is clean. Bono explains the changes and who taught them that the dirty village was one of the main reasons for the people getting sick.

Otto is feeling something strange but not bad at all. When they arrive at where Astri is living, he’s sure he’s feeling Nature in there. He runs inside, taking Bono by surprise. The guards didn’t stop him after seeing he was with Bono, and was probably the Elder by seeing he’s an older male. Bono runs after his father to try to stop him, worried he is going crazy again.

Otto spots Astri’s spouses, feeling their energy, and he starts to get thrilled.

"Nature.. Nature sent them.. Nature heard me.." Otto says, hyperventilating.

"Father.. Calm down.. Stop it." Bono holds his father’s arm, trying to hide his own pain by watching his father’s behavior.

"Nature heard me.." Otto repeats.

When Otto spots Astri coming walking to him, his eyes fill with tears when he feels her energy. He rushes to her, then kneels, holding her hands, crying.

"Nature.. You came! Oh Nature! You heard my calls!" He says, emotional.

Astri smiled softly, feeling sad for him, seeing how much he suffered alone. She tries to brush his messy hair a little. Bono was about to go take his father when he sees Astri creating a flower from thin air. She gives it to Otto and smiles at him.

"Yes, Elder Otto. Nature heard you. I’m sorry we took so long to come." Astri says, holding his hands with a reassuring grip.

He lowers his head to the ground and cries on her feet. She rubs his back, reassuring him, letting him dry his tears. The others wait in silence, letting Otto have his time to calm down.

"Come.. Let’s feast, shall we? Let’s wash your face and hands." She says to Otto and Bono.

Astri takes Otto and Bono to the common water bin, where anyone can wash hands and faces. She shows them how to use the soap.

"That’s it. Clean." She says, after finishing teaching them, and starting to wash her own hands.

"You came to save us, Goddess. I’m so happy you came. And you have already improved many things in a short time. I don’t know how to thank you." Otto says.

"Thank us when things really start to change around here. We have a long way to go." Astri says, chuckling.

"What is happening here? Who are you?" Bono asks her.

"Can’t you feel it? Of course not. When you were little, you had a better perception of things. At least I’m not going to be the only crazy here anymore." Otto bitterly answers.

"Ssh.." She holds their washed arms and then walks with them slowly.

Bono gets weirdly comfortable with her touch, and that makes him uncomfortable.

"I understand both of your sides. I was called crazy before too. And it’s something horrible to hear. So we create a way to protect ourselves from being hurt. However, feeding anger is not the answer. And feeding solitude too." She says as they keep walking slowly. "Let’s feast and relax. Soon you will understand things better, Leader Bono."

They sit at the very long table they built for everyone to sit and eat. Astri asks Bono and Otto to sit next to her, both are having a hard time choosing where to focus. The food looks and smells delicious.

Everyone ate in delight until they couldn’t eat any longer. Astri giggles, watching everyone sighing satisfied.

"Oh I missed your food, love." Dieg says, rubbing his full belly.

The others agree, very happy to have eaten Astri’s food.

"It’s a very different food. Thank you for inviting us, Goddess of Nature. It’s my honor. I could die now, I will die happy." Otto says to Astri.

"No one will die. Don’t talk like that. You and Leader Bono will be the main characters to the growth of this kingdom. Only working together will be possible to make the difference." Astri says.

"You still didn’t tell me who you are." Bono says to Astri.

Astri explains who she is, answering Bono’s questions and proving that Otto wasn’t crazy.

"The King has no way back. He’s being controlled by a Monster who wants to widen his territory and become a Monster King. The main issue here is that dinosaurs are so far from the balance that if nothing is done, dinosaurs will be extinct. The whole kind." Astri explains.

"You came to help us destroy the King?" Bono asks.

"We came to help you to become a good King. If the solution was only to destroy him, I could have asked my spouses to do that long ago. You’re already a symbol of resistance, people believe you’re the only one capable of destroying the King. They only need to see you as their new King."

"Me? A King? I.. I just wanted to live in peace, far from him." Bono says.

"You will. But you know that after you left his side, you became his biggest enemy."

"How did you know I used to be on his side?"

"She’s the Goddess of Nature, Bono. Her eyes and ears are everywhere." Otto says.

"I.. didn’t know someone like you could exist. Why don’t you make people follow you?" Bono says to Astri.

"I’m only one, Leader Bono. I can’t be Queen of a Kingdom if my role is helping all Kingdoms. I need to let the balance work by itself. I’m here because the King is breaking the balance, but if something is not changed in the chore of these people, the dinosaurs will be extinct even if anyone kills the King." Astri explains.

"How should I do that? I don’t know what to do."

"First, try to show people that your father is not crazy. Welcome him to the meetings with your tribe and listen to his knowledge. You might want to hide, but you suffered keeping your father away because of what people were saying about you and him. It’s a way for you two to heal yourselves together. I don’t judge you for what you have done, and you shouldn’t too, Elder Otto. Of course, it hurts seeing your own blood against you, but when you forgive you also relieve your own heart from a heavy weight." Astri says.

Otto and Bono looked at each other; they could see in each other’s eyes that they had a lot of feelings, but it wasn’t necessary to say anything. They simply smiled and nodded.

"My spouse Tyr was a King once. Koa was the leader of a mermen tribe. Beau was the highest ranked warrior of Aquaterra, being only under the Kings. All my spouses are very capable of helping you direct your future Kingdom to the right path." She says.

"What about you?" Bono asks.

"I can advise you on anything you want to know or do. However, I can’t be discovered here. Not yet. Or else, the King will send their Monsters after me and might be risky for your tribe."

"And for you too. You’re pregnant and shouldn’t be facing anyone." Wayde reminds her.

"You’re pregnant?? Why didn’t you tell me anything? The females would have accepted you better to not risk your health." Bono says, shocked.

"Now you know. The problem is that Kiara wants you and believes you want me, so she will try to harm me even knowing I’m pregnant. It was good to show her that I’m not a weak female too. Talking about her.." Astri says, then she points at the main entrance, where they built a gate so others don’t trespass.

They watch Kiara, with ten males behind her, arriving at the front gate and trying to kick the gate open. The guards go there and ask her males to take Kiara away.

"Shut up, snack! I want to go inside! That female attacked me! And why is Bono inside?!" Kiara loudly says, kicking and pushing the gate.

"Skalven? Take my children inside, please. I don’t want them to watch or hear such a low female." Astri says.

Skalven nods and stands up, Yuki holds Skalven’s hand. Hopin carries Atlas, Elias and Kai follow them mumbling because they wanted to watch their mother kicking the stinky female’s ass again.

Astri chuckles, denying with her head. Bono stands up and marches to the gate.

"Go away, Kiara. I’m in an important meeting." Bono growls.

"Why is the female present and not me?!" Kiara asks, livid.

"Because it’s her territory. And she’s one of the doctors helping our tribe. You’re disturbing too much these days. Just leave!"

"That tiny thing is a doctor? Impossible."

"No. It’s not. And that little thing knocked you out easily. So she’s not a weakling." Bono says. "Take her with you, or you will be banished. I hate having to repeat a clear order and keep being disobeyed." Bono tells her males behind her.

Her males try to pull her, calling her, but she’s adamant about breaking in.
