Beastmaster King-Chapter 355 - Breakthrough, Level 4 Beastmaster!
Chapter 355 - Breakthrough, Level 4 Beastmaster!
Speaking of which, this guy’s physique is ridiculously strong. It must be related to ‘Super Beast Mimicry,’ right?
After completing the mission this time, Lu Ran chose to break through to level 4 without hesitation. The powerful aura emanating from him during the process shocked the Six-Path Flower in the contract space.
It could only sense that this was no less intense than a King beast undergoing a breakthrough, or actually, it was even stronger.
Additionally, the thought that Lu Ran had stolen its innate talents, Alignment Perception and Alignment Amplification, left the Six-Path Flower deeply frustrated.
Lu Ran’s laughter echoed. The Six-Path Flower watched as he narcissistically admired himself before closing its eyes.
[Species: Human]
[Beastmaster Level: 4]
[Beastmaster Skills: Super Beast Mimicry, Flame Spirit, Soul Amplification, Kinship]
[Special abilities: Telepathy, Blizzard Sword Intent, Flame Dragon Sword Intent, Psychic Sword Intent, Dragon’s Aura, Super Vision, Underwater Survival, Domain, Alignment Perception, Alignment Amplification]
After Lu Ran’s breakthrough, each of his familiars also shattered through their bottlenecks. However, it was a pity that none of them exceeded level 45. Clearly, their rapid leveling in the 40s had left them with insufficient foundational accumulation.
What a shame. The kinship skill didn’t change.
Lu Ran had hoped to see if the kinship skill would upgrade with his breakthrough, but unfortunately, it still only allowed him to contract one familiar as a kin.
He wasn’t disheartened, though. This run had already gifted him two powerful skills, which were Alignment Perception and Alignment Amplification. He was more than satisfied.
The Six-Path Flower truly lived up to its quasi-Legendary status, directly providing him with two overpowered skills. Lu Ran didn’t feel like he’d done much to deserve it. He suspected his quick mimicry of the Six-Path Flower might have been due to his telepathy skill.
Alignment Perception was inherently a mental ability, making it far easier for Lu Ran to acquire.
As Lu Ran took out the Time-Acceleration Legacy Crystal, he muttered to himself. “I can throw my brain away now. With Alignment Perception, I won’t have to guess who means me well or ill. Wait, maybe not.”
The trickiest situation to guard against was when someone genuinely wished you well, but, limited by their cognition or experiences, their actions or advice didn’t actually benefit you. Alignment Perception would fail miserably in such cases. Lu Ran mentally picked his brain back up.
At the same time, he crushed the Time-Acceleration Legacy Crystal in his hand.
The Six-Path Flower quickly reopened its eyes, sensing the outside world.
Hmm? Time attribute?
Feeling the powerful fluctuations released by the crystal, the Six-Path Flower looked surprised.
He actually has a Time-type legacy, too. As expected of the Divine Deer’s envoy. He’s got quite the collection of treasures.
Now it was Lu Ran’s turn to close his eyes. The Six-Path Flower couldn’t help but ponder its own path. Currently, it was restricted by the world’s rules. It only possessed the Grass attribute and hadn’t evolved Time or Space attributes. However, through its mastery of intents, it had already grasped Time, Space, Life, and Death intents.
Its proficiency in these powers wasn’t inferior to familiars with corresponding attributes. But the Six-Path Flower felt that relying solely on this to break through to Legendary status still wasn’t enough.
Its reason for staying in the Beastmaster Empire was partly due to another ambition which was to fully embody the six paths, creating a domain that enveloped the empire and establishing a system of reincarnation based purely on the alignment of beings in life.
It would become the Six-Path Flower of Reincarnation, harvesting the faith power of human alignment to ascend to Legendary status. This way, even Lower Legendary might not be its limit. Unfortunately, constrained by the broader world’s rules, the Six-Path Flower felt its plan was unlikely to succeed.
It glanced at Lu Ran, who was receiving a legacy. It wondered if partnering with him temporarily could help it break free from this awkward predicament.
“It really works.”
[Beastmaster Skill: Time Acceleration]
[Description: Currently, the beastmaster can use this skill to accelerate the growth of familiars and the effects of their skills.]
After absorbing the legacy crystal, Lu Ran’s skill list immediately updated with Time Acceleration, and his mind was flooded with the experience to use it. It was no different from directly absorbing a skill card.
Lu Ran hadn’t expected Limitless City to actually reward him with a legacy-type item, and an Epic one at that.
Do SSS scores in level 3 ascension realms now have a chance to drop Epic resources?
Lu Ran was overjoyed. At this point, he no longer cared what Limitless City’s purpose was in training beastmasters. As long as the city kept being this generous, even if it later ordered its beastmasters to invade other worlds and play the villain, Lu Ran would charge at the front of the pack. ƒгeewёbnovel.com
The beastmaster skill, Reincarnation, and the trait crystal, Limit Breaker, also left Lu Ran stunned.
The rewards from this ascension realm were still closely tied to the ascension mission and the beastmaster’s experiences, making him glad he hadn’t settled for a lesser challenge like the Lava Cataclysm Beast and had instead pursued the limit.
Reincarnation... Is this related to the Six Paths? This is a great skill.
At first glance, Lu Ran felt that reincarnation wasn’t much different from undead resurrection, as both essentially gave a familiar a second life.
However, unlike undead resurrection, reincarnation could preserve the body and reset the growth level to zero, which was fantastic.
In fact, Lu Ran thought the best use of reincarnation wasn’t waiting for a familiar to die accidentally, but manually sending it to reincarnate. If this skill were given to first-generation beastmasters, they’d be ecstatic.
Limitless City’s rules stated that familiars could evolve once every 30 levels. If Lu Ran were to “kill” the quasi-Legendary Sudden Death King at level 90 and send it to reincarnate, and if it retained its quasi-Legendary status after rebirth, that would mean three more evolution opportunities.
It would be like deleting an account but keeping the species attributes, then leveling up again which was an extra chance to reach greater heights.
Limit Breaker... A skill to break through limitations, again tied to the Six-Path Flower.
Despite the world’s restrictions, the Six-Path Flower had broken through the rules to become a quasi-Legendary plant lifeform. That was talent. Such talent would undoubtedly rank among the best of all lifeforms.
Limitless City had essentially extracted the Six-Path Flower’s talent for breaking limitations and turned it into a trait crystal.
Lu Ran pondered the uses of the Limit Breaker trait. It seemed like a universal talent, greatly aiding any familiar’s attempt to reach Legendary status.
He wondered if giving this trait back to the Six-Path Flower would further enhance it. Too bad he wasn’t a familiar; otherwise, he’d have used it on himself without hesitation.
What are you spacing out for?
As Lu Ran wallowed in Limitless City’s “sugar-coated bullets,” the Six-Path Flower grew impatient watching him stand there dumbly.
Breaking through a level shouldn’t leave someone frozen like this.
Lu Ran snapped out of it. “Nothing... Just sensing the new beastmaster skill I just learned. I just learned a beastmaster skill called Time Acceleration. It can speed up a familiar’s growth and the effects of their skills. How’s that for a beastmaster, huh?”
Sensing the Six-Path Flower’s disdain, Lu Ran snorted.
Little flower, you dare to look down on me? Just wait until you’re reset to level 1, then you’ll see how good this skill is! Prepare for the great reset.
“Six Flower, how about we go counterattack the Four Great Beast Empires now?”
With nine days left and his rewards claimed, Lu Ran’s thoughts turned to the resources of the Four Great Beast Empires and the Beastmaster Empire.
Time Acceleration could indeed speed up a familiar’s growth, but it didn’t magically grant them growth. At the end of the day, resources were still necessary. It simply accelerated the rate at which familiars absorbed food to convert into levels.
Fine. Which one first? The Six-Path Flower asked.
“Let me think.”
Lu Ran recalled the details of the Four Great Beast Empires. Currently, the four empires besieging the Beastmaster Empire and frequently launching beast attacks were the Ape Empire, the Feather Demon Empire, the Crocodile Empire, and the Hundred Beasts Empire.
Their rulers—the Ape God, the Feather Demon Lord, the Crocodile Ancestor, and the Tiger Emperor—were all Superior Overlords above level 90. In comparison, the level 70 black dragon king that had tried to extort Xia seemed downright weak.
“Flower Sis, you’re sure you can take them all, right? They probably have plenty of lackeys too. Let’s not end up stuck there.”
The Six-Path Flower gave him a look of disbelief.
Are you underestimating me?
Lu Ran waved his hands. “Of course not. Then our first target will be the Ape God. Rumor has it that of the four empires, the Ape Empire is the most brutal. They enjoy cooking and eating humans, torturing them to death...”
Lu Ran and the Six-Path Flower set off without notifying anyone. He had a feeling that if he told the Yan clan or Emperor Yun before heading to the frontlines, they’d never let him go alone.
To avoid being weighed down by deadweight slowing his monster-slaying speed, Lu Ran chose to go solo. Moreover, their goal was straightforward. Head straight for the Ape Empire’s stronghold and take out their boss first. If they captured the leader, the rest would collapse.
However, despite their clear objective, Lu Ran couldn’t help but pause briefly when passing through war-torn regions. This city had already fallen. The Beastmaster Empire’s soldiers had completely scattered, and ape-like beasts ran rampant through the streets, turning it into a living hell.
What caught Lu Ran’s attention most, though, was that this place felt familiar.
“Beastmaster Empire, Heavenly Tide Province, Ningchuan.”
From high above, Lu Ran even spotted a dilapidated restaurant with a barely hanging sign that read “Frost Moon House.” It was the very restaurant where he’d learned cooking during his first ascension realm.
