Beastmaster King-Chapter 285 - Stellar Moon Federation
Chapter 285 - Stellar Moon Federation
There are plenty of people stronger than you at your level? Bullshit! Who would even believe that?
The three refused to believe that Lu Ran was average in his world. Or rather, they didn’t want to believe it.
Every low-level beastmaster having at least one Overlord? Domains being the standard? Impossible. Absolutely impossible...
“Where are you from? Or rather, what do you call your place?” Lu Ran asked.
The three exchanged glances. The question didn’t seem like something they needed to hide.
“The Stellar Moon Federation.”
“Stellar Moon... Stellar Moon? What does that have to do with the Stellar Moon Continent?” Lu Ran asked.
“The Stellar Moon Continent is what we used to call the Stellar Moon Federation in the ancient past,” Liu Man replied.
As people of the Stellar Moon Federation, it made sense for them to enter their historical realms for training. But Lu Ran was an alternate-world beastmaster. The group couldn’t shake the feeling that they were being cheated.
Lu Ran fell into deep thought.
Hmm... The Stellar Moon Federation and the Stellar Moon Continent... So, the Stellar Moon Continent really is another world, and its civilization has continued into modern times. Previously, Blue Planet beastmasters speculated that Blue Planet was simply the modern version of the Stellar Moon Continent.
But it seems Blue Planet might be something else entirely. The Stellar Moon Continent has its own rightful successors, which means the opponents who are going to appear during the World War event won’t just be virtual projections. They are most likely going to be modern beastmasters of the Stellar Moon Federation!
“When you found out that you were matched against an alternate-world beastmaster, were you shocked?” Lu Ran asked with a smile.
“Of course! Who would’ve thought that aside from us, other beastmaster civilizations existed?” Jiang Ming blurted out.
Lu Ran caught two key pieces of information from that.
“Hmm? So the Stellar Moon Continent is history to you. Then what about the Divine Tree Continent? From what you said, it doesn’t seem like you consider it an alternate world,” Lu Ran asked.
“Uh...” Jiang Ming was momentarily stunned.
Yu Rui answered, “If you trace back the history of the Divine Tree Continent, you'll find a blank period. According to our archaeologists, the Divine Tree Continent is actually the Stellar Moon Continent. It was called the Stellar Moon Continent first, and then the Divine Tree Continent, and in between this change, something unknown happened. This something altered the world’s rules and led to the rise of plant life.”
Just as I thought.
Lu Ran then asked, “On the Stellar Moon Continent, was there ever an era dominated by elemental life? Or one ruled by mechanical life? We’ve trained in all four of these worlds. Don’t tell me that the other two were also just different eras of the Stellar Moon Continent?”
At this point, there was no point in hiding anything.
Yu Rui nodded. “Yes, that’s actually something we learn in history class. According to myths, the world was once void. Then, the Four Supreme Divine Dragons—born from of time, space, life, and death—created the world. As the world took shape, rich elemental forces emerged and formed the foundation of its existence.
“From those elemental forces, the first wave of divine spirits appeared. All of them were elemental lifeforms. Following them, numerous ordinary elemental beings were born alongside animals and plants. If you’re asking about an era dominated by elemental life, that would be it.
“Even back then, humans had already learned to form contracts with other beings. But at some point, due to an unexplained historical void, a major shift occurred. The world’s rules changed drastically. Elemental life stopped reproducing, and existing elemental creatures vanished completely.
“Meanwhile, the evolution of beasts accelerated, quickly making them the world’s dominant force. Then, as if history was repeating itself, ferocious beast species declined, and plant life rose to power. After that, another cycle began. As plant life declined, humans created technology and developed mechanical creatures. Hmm... and in the distant future, there will be another cycle. History will definitely repeat itself.
“Thus, the history of the Stellar Moon Continent can be divided into the Elemental Era, the Beastmaster Era, the Plant Era, and the Mechanical Era. The Stellar Moon Federation was created after the Mechanical Era,” Yu Rui concluded.
Lu Ran was surprised.
Interesting. So the Elemental World, the Stellar Moon Continent, the Divine Tree Continent, and the Mechanical World all share the same world?
Due to historical fractures, later generations remained unaware of the past. It wasn’t until Yu Rui’s Stellar Moon Federation era that portions of history were uncovered. This was a major discovery for Lu Ran.
“How much do you know about Limitless City? Share everything you know about it.”
Yu Rui coughed. Since he was still injured, he didn’t want to talk anymore. Instead, he pushed Jiang Ming forward. “You do it.”
Yu Rui figured that they might as well tell Lu Ran since by now, plenty of Stellar Moon Federation beastmasters had likely been matched against Blue Planet beastmasters. Both sides would inevitably exchange intelligence. There was no point in being secretive.
Whether the two worlds’ beastmasters would end up as allies or enemies was uncertain. But for now, it was better to be on Lu Ran’s good side.
“We don’t know about Limitless City’s origins either. It appeared a year ago, suddenly selecting a massive number of beastmasters to undergo various trials. At first, many people were cautious. But eventually, people stopped resisting because of the abundance of rare resources and skills offered in its secret realms.
“After all, resources are extremely scarce where we’re from. Limitless City helped fill that gap, allowing our beastmaster civilization to flourish once more.”
It only appeared a year ago?
Compared to Blue Planet, that was a massive time gap. After all, Blue Planet had been interacting with Limitless City since ancient times. However, even without Limitless City, the Stellar Moon Federation had the beastmaster system. They hadn’t entered Limitless City as complete novices.
“You were already beastmasters when you entered Limitless City?” Lu Ran asked.
“Yes...” Jiang Ming replied.
Lu Ran was shocked. The Limitless City in the Stellar Moon Federation was extremely simple. There weren't any Evolution Secret Realms, Legendary Secret Realms, or even trait crystals.
Their familiars could only evolve through unique cultivation techniques and evolution resources. This was completely unlike Blue Planet, where simply fusing traits could trigger evolution. And since they could open their own beastmaster spaces, they didn’t receive contract cards.
However, Limitless City still restricted their level progression, requiring them to complete ascension realms to advance. But no one resisted. After all, the resource rewards were substantial, and training within history itself was a rare opportunity.
For Blue Planet, Limitless City had invested significantly more resources into cultivation.
But this didn’t mean that the Stellar Moon Federation was weaker overall. Even without Limitless City, they still had Legendary beastmasters. Right now, the Stellar Moon Federation was still far stronger than Blue Planet.
Liu Man raised her head. “Has Limitless City in your world recently mentioned a World War update? In our Limitless City, one appeared not too long ago.
“It said that in one year, we would face ten alternate-world beastmasters in combat. If we win, Limitless City’s facilities will be upgraded, and we’ll gain partial management authority over it. If we lose, there will be penalties.”
Lu Ran’s lips curled into a smile. “That’s right. Our Limitless City also got that update. I guess that means we’ll be facing off in one year for resources.”
On the surface, Lu Ran appeared calm, but deep down, he had a major headache. Right now, Blue Planet didn’t even have a single level 6 beastmaster. In contrast, the Stellar Moon Federation already had Legendary beastmasters.
How the hell are we supposed to win?
Perhaps as Limitless City continued to expand over the next year, Blue Planet’s overall strength would skyrocket.
“Let’s not talk about this. It has nothing to do with weaklings like us, right?” Lu Ran said.
“That’s true...” Jiang Ming replied.
“More importantly, I’m curious about what caused the historical fractures between the different eras of the Stellar Moon Continent. Considering the dominant species of the world completely changed, could it be related to Legendary creatures? It sure seems like the result of some species’ Legendary creatures losing a war, doesn’t it?” Lu Ran mused.
“That's a possibility,” Yu Rui interjected again. “I don’t know about the other eras, but the Mechanical Era ended due to the Legendary War.
“It is said that during that time, a war between Legendary beings took place, leading to the destruction of the Stellar Moon Continent. The surviving humans of the Stellar Moon Federation actually came from before that war. They were rumored to be preserved somewhere by humanity’s guardian, a Legendary mechanic.
“When those humans finally emerged centuries later, the Stellar Moon Continent had already been reduced to ruins. It took years of reconstruction for us to return to our current level. That war also nearly wiped out the continent's resources, which explains why our modern beastmaster civilization has developed so slowly...”
Lu Ran was stunned. “A Legendary mechanic existed in the Mechanical Era? Was it a level 9 beastmaster? As far as I know, the Legendary creatures restricted human level advancement. The highest we can reach is Quasi-Legendary.”
“That’s right. Legendary creatures have indeed been limiting human levels. This has been true across all four eras—the Elemental Era, the Beastmaster Era, the Plant Era, and the Mechanical Era. But based on archaeological findings, it seems that there were humans who managed to break through to the Legendary level by defeating Legendary creatures as mortals in every era.
“In the recorded history of the Stellar Moon Continent, four Legendary beastmasters have appeared. However, strangely enough, every time a human reaches the Legendary level, a historical fracture seems to occur. The world resets, and in the next cycle, human levels are restricted once more.”
So that’s how it is...
Lu Ran fell into deep thought. He had assumed that humans had never reached the Legendary level.
Who was the Legendary beastmaster of the Beastmaster Era, then? Could it have been someone trained by the stingy necromancy master—someone who focused on soul cultivation?
Originally, he had wanted to help his master fulfill his dying wish and become a Legendary beastmaster. However, it seemed that someone had already fulfilled it.
