Beast World: A Fragile Beauty Blessed with Many Children-Chapter 45 - 44: Very Fortunate
After the lesson, Ji Liang popped a Crystal Stone into his mouth and transferred the energy inside to Si Shuo.
He and Xu Chi each took one of Si Shuo’s wrists to help her temper her meridians.
Si Shuo didn’t have time to explain to Zhi Le. She quickly closed her eyes, focusing on controlling her Healing Ability to keep pace with them.
Zhi Le watched from the side for a moment before closing his eyes to rest.
After one Grand Circulation was complete, Si Shuo took control of her Spiritual Power and cultivated for another ten Grand Circulations. This was her mandatory daily cultivation routine.
When she opened her eyes, Si Shuo smiled and waved to Zhi Le. "Zhi Le, I’ll sprout a plump whip for you to play with."
Only then did Zhi Le notice the whips coiled around Ji Liang and Xu Chi, happily writhing around their fingers as they absorbed Spiritual Power.
He raised an eyebrow in surprise. A single glance was enough for him to understand: the whips had actually awakened their Spiritual Sense. It was only a nascent stage, and developing a complete Spiritual Sense would still require a great deal of time, effort, and Spiritual Power. But the first step was the most difficult, and once taken, the rest was just a matter of time!
’Once nurtured, the whips would possess extraordinary Combat Power. More importantly, on days they weren’t hunting, they could use the whips to store a portion of their Spiritual Power, which was somewhat beneficial for their Cultivation. And in a critical moment, that stored Spiritual Power could save their lives.’
’Who wouldn’t fight for and cherish a natural, growing vessel for storing Spiritual Power?’
Si Shuo lifted her chin slightly, and a handful of seeds materialized in her palm. The seeds sprouted at a visible rate, their shoots tremulously intertwining as they grew taller and thicker, only stopping when they reached three meters in length and the width of a bowl.
Without her needing to say a word, the plump whip unerringly burrowed into Zhi Le’s arms, writhing and trying to curry favor...
Si Shuo looked up, down, left, and right—anywhere but at the amused look in Zhi Le’s eyes. ’The plump whip is a total flirt with a weakness for handsome faces,’ she thought. ’This is out of my control!’
Now, the three males took turns storing Spiritual Power in her Si San.
Once that was done, Zhi Le pulled Si Shuo to her feet and led her back to their room.
Si Shuo’s heart fluttered, and she didn’t dare look back at Ji Liang and Xu Chi. After all, she and Zhi Le had been apart for a long time. As the saying goes, absence makes the heart grow fonder. She... she had to comfort each of them in turn.
Zhi Le pulled the prepared bathwater from his spatial storage, laid out a change of clothes and some Beast Skins for drying, then kissed her on the forehead, suppressing his deeper desires as he left the room.
Si Shuo hadn’t enjoyed a proper bath in a long time. She sprinkled in rose petals, poured in essential oils, applied a face mask, and sipped red wine while listening to a soft tune. It was pure bliss, better than the life of an Immortal.
After she had cleaned herself up, Zhi Le disposed of the bathwater. He returned to embrace her, gently drying her hair while gazing at his little mate with eyes full of tenderness.
His voice was a little hoarse. "Kitty, I’m so thankful I was the first one to meet you."
Ji Liang was a renowned trader, famous south of the Dongye Forest, while Xu Chi was an exceptionally powerful member of the mysterious Horned Deer Beastman clan.
’If I hadn’t been lucky enough to become her first Beast Husband, there probably wouldn’t be a place for me by her side at all.’
Si Shuo hugged him back, burying her face in his chest and chuckling softly. "I’m also very thankful I met Zhi Le. Otherwise, who knows where I’d be right now."
"You are an amazing person, Zhi Le, and so kind-hearted. The Beast God will surely bless us."
"Look, you were stuck at Level 3 Combat Power for so long, and now you’re a Level 4 Warrior."
"Being able to advance means your body has almost completely recovered. You’re only going to get stronger from now on!"
Zhi Le had never been a timid or cowardly person, but meeting Si Shuo had planted a seed of fear in his heart. His life now was so wonderful that he feared it was just a fleeting dream.
The anxiety and constant travel from the recent past, in particular, had left his entire being clamoring for her.
He stroked Si Shuo’s nearly dry hair before laying her down on the bed. All their intense emotions transformed into crashing waves at the base of a cliff, pulling them under into a shared abyss of passion.
The winter snow melted and all of nature reawakened. Branches budded and bloomed, bearing delicate fruit that released a tantalizing, sweet fragrance. 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮
Amidst the babbling streams of the forest, fish leaped for joy, as if celebrating the warmth of spring and the sweetness of love...
Waking up naturally, without an alarm, was one of the most blissful parts of Si Shuo’s life after her rebirth.
Today, however, she woke up even later than usual, roused only by the pangs of hunger.
She resignedly dragged herself out of bed. Thanks to her system’s enhancements, she only felt a slight soreness in her lower back and a bit of weakness in her legs, with no other discomfort.
After getting dressed, she plaited her hair into a French braid. Opening the door, she saw Ji Liang basking in the courtyard sun, Xu Chi engaged in some woodwork, and Zhi Le preparing a meal. A wide smile spread across her face as she greeted each of them in turn.
Ji Liang’s and Xu Chi’s eyes fell upon her neck, their gazes seemingly carrying a searing heat.
Si Shuo blushed, recalling the amorous attentions of a certain big cat the night before. She quickly used her Healing Ability to erase the marks he had left.
After washing up, Si Shuo had just sat down to eat when Shan Man and Hezhu arrived, each with two of their own males in tow, calling for her to come out.
"Have you eaten yet? Come join us," Si Shuo offered with a smile.
The two females were about to shake their heads and decline, but the food at Si Shuo’s house was on another level!
So they sat right down, openly declaring they would give Si Shuo a gift later to make up for it.
Breakfast was what Si Shuo and Zhi Le had planned the previous night: flatbread wraps filled with fried egg and roasted meat, accompanied by finely chopped green peppers, a side of Sweet Potato sesame balls, a dish of pickled cucumbers, and almond goat milk.
The food was so delicious that the two visiting females fell silent as they ate. However, they each stopped after a single wrap.
Their male companions, on the other hand, began asking Zhi Le how the dishes were made. It was rare for their mates to show such interest in any food.
Although Nanye City was near the coast, it saw many passing trade caravans. The goods for sale were diverse, including Floating Wheat, rice, and various fruits and vegetables, though they differed slightly from the versions Si Shuo was familiar with.
So, whenever Zhi Le couldn’t answer, Ji Liang chimed in with supplementary details.
After breakfast, Xu Chi remained at home, leaving Ji Liang and Zhi Le to accompany Si Shuo on her outing.
Nanye City was huge. Zhi Le carried Si Shuo on his back, running for a good seven or eight minutes before they reached the nearest workshop.
It was exceptionally lively inside, much like a pedestrian street on a weekend in a later era. You could find goods from all corners of the world here.
Zhi Le held one of Si Shuo’s hands tightly as she browsed with great interest, starting from the very first stall.
Anything that held her attention for more than five seconds was immediately purchased by Ji Liang, who was following closely behind them!
Before long, the basket on Ji Liang’s back was already full.
There were also food stalls along the street, mostly selling roasted meat. Others offered fruits and vegetables, while a small few sold baked flatbreads, steamed buns, and pastries.
Si Shuo had Ji Liang buy a few of each for her to try.
The Beastmen didn’t yet understand how to properly leaven dough, so the flatbreads and buns were dense and unleavened. The flour was also whole-wheat. In terms of both texture and flavor, they were a far cry from what Si Shuo was used to.
The pastries were only lightly sweetened with a bit of honey and some nuts.
Si Shuo stood by the pastry stall, nibbling on her purchase as she watched the endless stream of customers. She was green with envy!
A single palm-sized pastry cost one Level 1 Crystal Stone.
Based on the prices she’d observed during her one Beast Hour of strolling, the purchasing power of a Level 1 Crystal Stone was equivalent to about one coin, a Level 2 Crystal Stone was worth ten coins, a Level 3 was a hundred, and so on.
