Beast World: A Fragile Beauty Blessed with Many Children-Chapter 128 - 127: Anything as Rare as My Gift for My Sister?
Beastmen didn’t actually own many things, especially when they were traveling. Their belongings were mostly just food, Beast Skins, and some daily necessities.
The males usually had just a single Beast Skin Bag, while the females had more belongings. But since they also had more Beast Husbands, it only took a couple of trips to move almost everything.
Back in Puchang City, during a massive Beast Tide numbering in the millions, Female Saint Si Shuo had communicated with the Beast God. She purified the flesh, sinew, bones, and Crystal Stones of the Frenzied Fierce Beasts. Because of this, many Beastmen from the Southern Continent were brought to Puchang City as reinforcements, transported by a Beastman with a pinpoint Teleportation Ability.
While fending off the Beast Tide, the males by Si Shuo’s side had been spectacular. Each was more formidable than the last, reaping Fierce Beasts like harvesting machines. Their performance made everyone else’s blood boil with excitement, and they all fought much more bravely than usual.
Not to mention, after arriving at Dongye Middle Square, Zhi Le and Gong You were selected as Guangshou City Beast Soldiers, while Xu Chi and Ji Liang easily won numerous matches in the arena, even forcing the Qingxi Tribe to leave ahead of schedule.
The Beastmen from Puchang City knew that Si Shuo’s group was well worth befriending!
It was just that the Dongzhou Merchant Team had been around before, so they never had a chance to get close. Now, weren’t they eagerly moving their homes for a chance to be the first to benefit from their proximity?
Just look at Yimei! She was on good terms with Si Shuo, and now she’d acquired two small courtyards and four acres of land. Plus, Zhe Heng had become a Beast Soldier too!
"Female Saint Si Shuo, Female Saint Yimei, my Beast Husband just found this Fighting Horned Beast Milk this morning. It’s incredibly fresh! If you boil it and let it cool, a skin will form right on top... He found a lot, so I brought some for you to try..."
"...This is Curled Horned Sheep meat my Beast Husband found deep in the grasslands. It’s very fresh and tender... Your Beast Husbands must be busy and probably don’t have time to hunt..."
"...My Beast Husband happened to find some Wild Honey..."
After settling in and waiting a moment, other females swarmed over as soon as they saw one of them approaching with fine goods.
Si Shuo’s brow furrowed slightly. Before she could say a word, the Clock Vine tied to her waist let out a cry, as if overwhelmed by social anxiety.
The piercing sound startled everyone, making their eardrums ache. They all dropped what they were holding and covered their ears.
The Clock Vine’s cry was interesting in that it was directional. This meant that Si Shuo, Yimei, and their respective Beast Husbands were unaffected, but everyone else suffered the full effect.
However, once the females had taken a few steps back, the Clock Vine sensed a safe distance had been established. It lazily went back to hooking onto Si Shuo’s belt, quietly resuming its role as a splendid ornament.
"What was that sound?" a female asked, patting her chest and looking around, still shaken.
The other Beastmen also began searching for the source of the noise.
Si Shuo gave a light cough. "It’s nothing. Since I’m a Female Saint, I can catalyze a few little trinkets.
This is a vine I found in Nanye City. It’s rather timid, and when it senses my unease, it resonates with me and lets out a shriek.
I’m sorry it disturbed everyone." 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚
She said with a smile, stroking the unique, large flower at her waist.
Her eyes shifted slightly as a thought occurred to her. ’I’ve planted some of my five commonly used vine species in my storage space, specifically for seeding purposes.’
’Time flows faster in the space—almost ten times the speed of the outside world—and there’s no day or night.’
’Thanks to the males planting them for me, I’ve already stockpiled quite a few of these vine seeds.’
Si Shuo was getting bored staying cooped up at home. It wasn’t just her; her males were probably going stir-crazy as well. ’Why not take this opportunity to set up a stall and sell these little catalyzed trinkets?’
’I’m the one who catalyzes them, so I can adjust the plants’ properties, removing or weakening any dangerous components to turn them into simple, fun decorative items. That way, if I sell them, people won’t have to be on constant alert for the dangers of the original plant.’
’It would be an exclusive sale in the entire Beast World—no other branches available. The thought was rather appealing and would be a good way for her to pass the next twenty days.’
"What’s all this? Why are you all crowding around my sister?" a lazy, smiling voice called out from outside the crowd. "Fighting Horned Beast Milk, Curled Horned Sheep, Wild Honey... are any of those as rare as the Long Tusked Elephant trunk I hunted for my sister?"
The Long Tusked Elephant was one of the largest types of Fierce Beasts found at the border between the forest and the grasslands. Even a newborn calf possessed Level 8 Combat Power, to say nothing of a full-grown adult.
A Flying Beastman had once spotted a Sixteen-level Long Tusked Elephant Beast! A single swing of its trunk could uproot a century-old tree.
Females were fond of all sorts of ornaments, like beautiful, smooth stones, beads, teeth, or bones.
Ivory was the finest gift a male could present to a female. It could be polished into a comb, fashioned into ornaments, or even ground into a full set of utensils.
Typically, only males from large families or tribes would gather a group of powerful Beastmen to hunt a Long Tusked Elephant Beast, and that was usually when they were courting a female. Even then, they would specifically choose half-grown elephants that had just begun to sprout their tusks.
The crowd’s eyes went red with envy when they saw the pair of thick, man-high tusks behind the youth with choppy, light-blue hair.
Judging by their quality and size, they must have come from a robust, adult Long Tusked Elephant in its prime, one with impressive Combat Power!
As he drew closer, the crowd parted to let him through.
Si Shuo watched as Xiao Shisi, sporting a head of choppy blue hair and a charming smile, walked over and hoisted the heavy, four-to-five-meter-long elephant trunk, which resembled a giant python, in front of her.
"Sister, let’s have roasted elephant trunk tonight, shall we? I was always mooching food and drinks off you before, but now I’ve brought my own provisions!"
Si Shuo looked from Xiao Shisi’s hair and face down to his smooth, flat chest.
’Wait... it’s the same person, just with short hair and... a different gender?’
The way he’d said "Sister," with a hint of flirtatious charm, had almost made half her body go limp...
Her brain couldn’t quite process it. "Are you... Xiao Shisi’s twin brother?"
Xiao Cheng let out a soft laugh and a light cough. "Sister, are you sure you want to catch up with me in front of all these people?"
Suppressing her confusion, Si Shuo smiled at the crowd and said, "Everyone, please return to your homes. I’ll be catalyzing some more of my little trinkets and setting up a stall in the workshop later.
If you’re interested, please feel free to come take a look then."
With that said, she had Ji Liang put up a defensive barrier, blocking them from everyone else’s sight and hearing.
Xiao Cheng had already laid the elephant trunk and tusks by the entrance to her Beast Skin Bag, along with two Bone Rings. He looked at her eagerly, his smile so brilliant it was as if he were waiting for praise.
"Sister, I am Xiao Shisi. My real name is Xiao Cheng.
This is the dowry I hunted with my own two hands, without any help from anyone else!
It’s all for you, Sister!"
There was a deep gash on his lower left jaw, likely from being struck by a tusk.
Even with a Beastman’s formidable healing ability, a mark that deep would take three to five days to heal, and might even leave a scar.
He also had several unhealed cuts on the bridge of his nose and the corner of his mouth. Against his fair skin, they looked both exceptionally tragic and excessively beautiful.
The phrase ’battle-damaged beauty’ flashed through Si Shuo’s mind. He was such an inspiring, pitiful thing that she couldn’t bear to say a single harsh word to him.
"But... but you’re clearly a young female," she stammered. She had felt it for herself when Xiao Shisi had hugged her!
