Beast Evolution System: Devourer of Heaven-Chapter 304: Heart of Dying Star, Sila
Cat dropped to the ground below, both the monk and Vermilion just looked at her. She drank her wine then slept on the ground.
Everybody was confused by her actions but it was simple. In her drunken state she only fights as a response to a threat.
The interference of the monk removed that threat allowing her body too relax. In only a few seconds she was already snoring.
Her mother hid her face in embarrassment. The monk shook his head with a smile then faced Vermilion.
He still had that benevolent smile he always had which pissed Vermilion off. " Would you be open to abandoning your sinful ways and let me cleanse your karma?"
In resources Vermilion waved his fan creating a huge sword over a kilometre long. The sword cut through the sky burning the air itself.
The monks body remained pure gold, he raised his hand and blocked the sword. The sky shook and a shockwave spread out hitting the barrier like a sledgehammer.
Cat was still sleeping peacefully on the island below without a worry in the world. The monk changed his hand signs.
He placed his right hand on top of his left.
" VAM." his voice boomed like a drum shaking the sky.
A massive golden hand appeared in the sky and slapped Vermilion. Vermilion created his own hand of fire to meet it.
They clashed and the golden hand of Buddha lost out which was understandable. Vermilion was using the power of his vessel.
The monk was merely using the mudra, abilities that anybody who believed in Buddhism and had a pure heart can learn.
He was yet to show the power of his own vessel. " VAM." he uttered again, this time two hands clasped together with Vermilion between them.
With a simple wave of his fan he destroyed both, then a javelin of fire shot towards the monk like a streak of light.
The monk changed his hands signs again to the first one. His index finger touched his thumb.
" LAM." His entire body turned into gold and he opened his palm to block the javelin. The golden hand and javelin of fire clashed.
Sparks flew and the air ignited, blood spurted out of the monks palm and he was pushed back dozens of kilometres before the javelin exhausted it power and fizzled out.
" You underestimate me monk, that will be your undoing." Vermilion spat. The monk looked at his bleeding palm with a calm face.
" Indeed, I do apologise." Then he held out his prayer beads. " Dhyana." The monk whispered.
One of the writings on the beads lit up, he felt his mind clear and everything seemed to be happening in slow motion.
His vessel was called the six pures or the six perfections. The one he had just used was the perfection of meditation.
It increased his perception and mental resistance and resilience. Vermilion attacked first.
Flames gathered in his palm then he fired it like a laser beam. "Virya." The pure of energy, it increased his stamina and vital essence to absurd levels.
His muscles ballooned up almost ripping through his robe. He kicked the air leaving a huge explosion of air behind.
He dodged the laser beam and appeared Infront of Vermilion. He punched and the sky shook.
The air ignited from the friction, Vermilion reached out and grabbed the flames then turned them against the monk.
Who delivered a kick to his chest. Flames exploded on the monks face and a kick landed on Vermilion’s chest.
Both were sent flying to the opposite ends of the barrier. The monks face was charred while Vermilion’s chest had caved in even with his armour.
Golden flames appeared over his chest healing him. The monk did not heal his own wound which was strange.
Vermilion might not be able to use the Buddhist mantras but he knew there was one for vitality.
Using it monks can heal their wounds yet the most powerful monk did not. He wondered what he was planning and that made him vigilant.
Flames gathered around him and merged with his armour turning it into red heavy armour.
The temperature around him dropped as the armour was absorbing all of the surrounding heat.
A red helmet with a plume of fire covered his face showing only his red eyes. Flames gathered around his fan turning into a spear.
He sighed, he wished his vessel was a spear unfortunately the creator of the technique was a woman who liked pretty things.
They both took deep breaths and lunged at each other. The sky shook with just their presence.
A golden fist pulsing with veins met the red spear. The power was so strong they couldn’t even touch.
The space between them shook and cracked then exploded causing a shockwave that sent both of crashing towards the barrier once again.
Like relentless cockroaches they pounced at each other. Their bodies turned into streaks of light.
Each clash cracked space itself, cracks spread through the sky shaking the hearts of those who were watching.
They realised as strong as they were, they would hopeless against either of those two. Everybody wondered how Cat was sleeping below all of this.
Cat on the other hand was still snoring, her aura pushed away the shockwaves of their clash.
A few hundreds metres around her was not disturbed at all but the rest of the island was closed to sinking.
A testament of their power considering they were fighting over a thousand kilometres in the air yet the shockwaves were close to destroying the island.
As the fight continued Vermilion noticed the monk was smiling. He started laughing, " You’re enjoying this aren’t you?
You who speak of nobility and peace enjoying a fight, quite hypocritical don’t you think?"
He mocked the monk who just giggled, " I do not recall denying my love for battle, after all I am a battle monk.
There’s no shame in taking joy in vanquishing evil." The monk replied with a smile, obviously unshaken by his taunt.
He clicked his tongue in annoyance, " Then it’s time you die." Flames gathered Infront of his chest.
They condensed into a tiny pure white marble, this was his stronger version of the fire beam.
The monk cancelled the two pures of meditation and energy. The one he was about to use was too powerful to be used simultaneously as the others.
" Fire Ray: Heart of a dying star."
" Sila"
They both used their abilities at the same time.
