Barbaric Spouse, Descry the Night's Lure-Chapter 260: Scene CCLX
*******
“Are ya sure you want to go up like this?”
“Ou. hf... I’ll rest while they lift it.”
“... a’ight.” — The warlock, having decided that nothing would be told by his tongue to the weary man, agreed to Aslak’s determined spirit.
No time he had allowed for even a tad of the water of the place to cleanse some of the bloody dirt covering him and the warlock signalled to those above, to quietly lift the Archduke to their grounds, who was accompanied by Alsvartr, the loyal Jazhara that shared it’s warmth while the man rested on the wood that would lift him up the boulder.
“What happened, you’ll have ta tell me about it later.”
“... I met tha core and was given a feline, that’s it...”
“Sure... that’s it.” — Otrur scoffed at the nonchalance of the young man, watching him lay with the beast’s head resting on his abdomen while the platform commenced to move. Sighing... for it was visible that as simple a tale, his days were not.
The Jazhara’s head announced with its lift to the drowsy Archduke when the upper ground had been reached, standing up on his own, with difficulty, to meet the eye of astonished guards that kept their distance while the blind one, Tyzlirr maintained a distance for his nose wrinkled to the man and beast.
“... Myrkzver Lord.” — Tyzlirr said scowling pinching his own nose.
“... Where’s my mount.”
“! Uh- h-here it is! W-welcome back Your Illustrious Grace...”
“Lord, I feel a beast with you. It strengthens your stink.”
“Tyzlirr, not now.” — A fellow guard told the indifferent blind one, for everyone present was standing away as the beast walked beside their Lord, holding back their joy from being shown at his return... being Aslak himself as he climbed the horse with the help of the guards that he announced.
“Its name’s Alsvartr... it won’t hurt ya... yet hurt him and I’ll feed your heads to it myself.” — Making the mount move, the Archduke moved into the Barbican followed by the dark feline. Leaving behind baffled men who could not believe the state of the man, his company and much less his unexpected return.
The pace he made the mount take hurt his already wounded body. Nonetheless, the spouse had no true wish to lose time. Knowledgeable of the paths he was to take so the warden would be found.
Nevertheless, having heard of the Archduke’s arrival, Uth was already going where he was to soon meet his Lord, being unable to announce to the Archduchess of her husband’s arrival, for his mount arrived hurriedly, standing on its hind legs as it halted it’s pace once finding the warden.
“?!?? M-milord!” — Shaken by the scare, the warden saw the Archduke jump down, holding back the hurtful whine his many wounds and bruises invoked at the unreasonable movements he was making in his hast. — “Your Grace! How come you climbed in this state-?!”
“Start preparing everything. I am to leave tomorrow if possible.”
“??!? Wh- Nonsense! You cannot-”
*Gro~wl!*
“...”
“As you see. We can... Prepare everything... I won’t lose time.”
“Y-yet... why are you to leave? Furthermore so hastly when in obvious dismay?!”
“... Why?” — Enraged even if feeling dizzy by all the lengths he had forced his body to, Aslak’s disturbed amber glared at the bewildered warden, being himself who growled instead of the Jazhara guarding him. — “To go get my wife. Not a day more will I wait.”
“..... You mean... Do you wish to travel to Ramideos...? To get the Ma’am....?”
“What else. Don’t stay there, go prepare everything...”
“... however, she is not there anymore...” — Baffled still at the reasons for such unbelievable behaviour an obviously unwell man demonstrated, Uth told with as perplexed sound. And the glare that had fallen on him started to waver... misled by the warden’s utterings.
“What’s that mean she’s not there.”
“... uh... oh, well, she-”
“Why’s she not there!!? Did something-! Did something happen to Ewelina!??!”
“!!? Milord! Calm down!”
“WHERE’S MY WIFE!!!!?”
“SHE’S HERE!!!” 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦
“..... what...”
“My Lord..... she’s at her chambers... she came back on her own long ago...” — Being released by the bloody hands of a desperate Lord, Uth finally managed to tell, sighing as he saw the shock calm the Archduke’s demeanour to tell some more that would not be listened. — “You should wash up before going to-?! Lord Aslak?! Your Grace!! Wait! -!?”
*Grrr....*
“Ah... truly??... goodness what is this return he pulled...?”
Wishing to go behind the chaotic barbarian, then, Uth’s steps were restrained by the Jazhara. Menacing with its fangs for no obstacle was to be allowed on the man the earth blessed, who, indifferent to the strain, his appearance and the difficulty of his already limp walk, rushed further into the Castle. Going down the stairs in hast towards the corridors such chambers were... crossing until the end of the hall where the door of the woman was opened without caring to announce himself to the one inside.
*Clank* — He opened the door... to find an empty and silent chamber nonetheless. And his eyes quickly found the open door with a carved gem, crossing it and rushing with a limp walk the shared chamber, for the door leading to his own lured him in search of the wife... and finally... her lovely figure, giving her back as she embraced his blouse was found... with a lowered crown which’s fur had grown in length just as his... yet remained as entrancing with its unique shape.
“...”
*... Bang*
“?!”
Clumsy in his state, Aslak paced inside, overwhelmed by the delight her presence drowned his soul and heart. Accidentally colliding with a small footstool that alerted the woman instantly. Obtaining her gaze to fall on him while in hast she hid the cloth, widening her brown as she recognised who the man before her was... experiencing fleeting joy for the red covering him froze the delight into blue concern.
“... A... aslak...” — Out of breath, her tremble could not emit proper sound at the shocking sight... Yet the man, unaware of the woman’s shock managed to call for his beloved. Entranced by happiness, for nothing he cared about besides his fated love.
