Back To The 90s: The Resilient Daughter-In-Law-Chapter 2042 - 2060: Two-Pronged Approach
"Coming out of the noodle shop."
Su Hai waved his hand, "Alright, I got it."
Secretary Sun saluted and left, while Su Hai sat on his office chair, picked up the phone on the table, and dialed out.
"It’s me, Su Hai."
"Hello, Director Su."
"Has Gong Liping’s transfer order been issued?"
"It’s already been issued."
"Good, when Gong Liping comes to handle the paperwork, have him come by the office." After giving his instructions, Su Hai had someone from the secretary’s office come in to inquire about tomorrow’s schedule. Once confirmed that tomorrow’s unit visit would first be to Xu Qigang’s War Wolf Group and then to Kong Jie’s third group, he specifically instructed to have Gong Liping visit the third group to find him.
Only then did he hang up the phone.
Ji Yuanjie’s unusual behavior started in the noodle shop. Despite his unserious demeanor, he’s actually full of intrigue, and it’s hard to get him to say anything. Approaching the issue from Gong Liping’s angle, however, is much easier.
After processing this, Su Hai crossed his arms and stood in front of his desk, pondering for a few seconds, and then picked up the phone once more and dialed out.
"Hello? Uncle?" A low, pleasant voice came over the phone, "Uncle, you’re finally back? I’ve been trying to reach you several times."
"Meng Ping, I need you to handle something personally." Su Hai interrupted Meng Ping.
The pleasant voice on the other end paused, and then Zhang Yang’s confident demeanor came through, "Just tell me what you need."
"I heard you have a good relationship with Ji Yuanjie?"
Meng Ping chuckled, "Uncle, no wonder they call you Foxy Su, you even know this!" Although Uncle used the term ’heard,’ Meng Ping knew in his heart that Uncle certainly was aware before asking.
"I do indeed have a good rapport with Ji Yuanjie. As you know, although we come from different backgrounds, our experiences are quite similar. Plus, we both navigate the business world, which gives us plenty of opportunities to cooperate over time."
Both are smart, having numerous complex connections in between, so it’s normal for them to become good partners. But publicly, they have a mutual understanding not to mention it, partly out of concerns about arousing others’ suspicion and partly to keep things low-key.
"Cut the chatter, go and gather some intel for me."
"What kind of intel?"
"Whatever you see, just tell me directly." Su Hai said this and hung up before specifying what exactly, leaving Meng Ping on the other end stamping in anger.
Damn Foxy Su, that’s no way to toy with someone!
Without any specifics, how’s he supposed to know? Also, the only person daring enough to make Second Master Meng as a spy is Uncle.
Truly shameless!
While Meng Ping grumbled, his actions were swift and unhesitating as he hurried to find Ji Yuanjie.

Ji Yuanjie has been in business since the reform and opening up, with his ventures growing larger and his wealth expanding over the years. Later, finding it inconvenient to live with family, he moved out to live alone. However, being one who loves to savor life, even his solitary dwelling is a two-story villa located right in the city center.
The location is prime, with proximity to schools, stations, and shopping malls.
With reforms and economic growth, the land prices here have skyrocketed, reaching the point where every inch is worth gold. Foreseeing this, Ji Yuanjie bought quite a bit of land when he first moved here.
It’s partly for enjoyment, and partly as a convenient money-making opportunity.
When he lived with family, the older generations most hated the wasteful spending of the young ones, but now living alone, he can enjoy as he pleases. Imported furniture, carpets—he has it all. Even the apartments of foreign diplomats nearby can’t match his place. However, he seldom brings friends over, mainly out of fear that it would get back to his family and result in reprimands from his elders.
