It rained heavily all night, and when Cheng Su woke up the next day, there was still a drizzle outside the window. It seemed relentless, and who knows how long it would last.

"Gou Sheng, why are you watching your little brother?" Cheng Su asked with a smile, pinching his little face.

"Mom is cooking." Gou Sheng replied obediently.

"Gou Sheng is such a good boy, and a good big brother, already a little man!" Cheng Su praised.

Gou Sheng bashfully smirked and puffed up his little chest.

After Qi Fengping went back, Liu Wenjing took the initiative to take on the task of caring for Cheng Su. She didn’t do much, just cooked meals and cleaned up a bit.

"You’ve worked hard these days." Cheng Su said gratefully.

Liu Wenjing quickly replied, "Don’t say that. We’re staying at your place and eating your food, so doing some chores is nothing."

"It’s not quite like that. None of this is your responsibility." Cheng Su smiled gently.

Liu Wenjing said, "Weixia said it’s all thanks to you and Cousin that we have a place to stay and he has a job. We’ll always remember your kindness."

As Cheng Su started to speak, Qi Taiguo walked in from outside.

"How come you’re soaked through? Didn’t you take an umbrella?" Cheng Su frowned and stood up seeing him come in drenched.

"It’s okay. I have a task I need to leave for immediately, just came back to fetch some things." Qi Taiguo said.

"What?" Cheng Su frowned even more deeply.

Qi Taiguo entered the room, closed the door, and told her there had been continuous heavy rains, flooding many areas and causing disasters.

Mother Qi didn’t say much over the phone, just mentioned that she was setting out for Qing City and might arrive around two or three in the afternoon.

Cheng Su looked out the window at the drizzle and said, "Mom, why not come a few days later? The weather is really bad right now!"

"How can that be? Wenjing is quite careless; I’m not sure if she can cook. And besides, the baby is due next month, and I’m bringing some mountain herbs for you to drink, so the baby is fair-skinned and tender when born."

Cheng Su wanted to say more, but Qi Taiguo came out, gesturing for him to speak. He didn’t say anything much, just mentioned that Qi Fenglian should wait at the train station to pick her up, and then ended the call.

"In this weather, coming in a couple of days would be fine!" Cheng Su disagreed vehemently.

"Don’t be stubborn, you won’t get wet in the car, and perhaps the weather will clear soon." Qi Taiguo said, "I have to go, take care of everything!"

"You too!" Cheng Su saw him off at the door, and listening to the rain intensify, her brows furrowed tightly.
