Back to the 70s: My Childhood Sweetheart Spoils Me Rotten-Chapter 859 - 861: Transfer Schools
Zhao Guangran was envious of Gong Tao and the others for how domineeringly they protected Gong Ruini.
"If it were me, my dad wouldn’t do that. He’d definitely let me figure out what to do."
"You’re a boy, so you naturally have a stronger ability to handle pressure than me." Gong Ruini didn’t want to talk to this little idiot.
If Zhao Guangran really got bullied by those people, would Zhao Gang be easy to bully?
Are boys supposed to get bullied? Zhao Guangran didn’t understand where Gong Ruini got this theory from, but because she had two major backers today, he decided to be quiet.
He even noticed that even the homeroom teacher, Feng Xueyan, didn’t get any benefits from the situation, but he didn’t have a good impression of this homeroom teacher.
"If back when the rumors first started she had suppressed it a little, things wouldn’t have turned out like this, but she didn’t step forward."
"Later, she only said a couple of words in class when she saw you woke up, but who would listen?"
Haha, Gong Ruini understood why Feng Xueyan did that; it was because she never expected they would stay together, so she naturally didn’t want to offend those who might bring her honor.
"There are plenty of people like that."
Indeed, there are plenty, Zhao Guangran smirked. "That’s why I don’t like her."
Gong Tao and Cai Ming discussed it for a long time, particularly with Zhao Gang. When they came out and saw Gong Ruini and the others, they kept waving for them to come over.
Seeing their expressions, Gong Ruini knew the matter had likely been resolved, so she went over to hear how they sorted it out.
"What, transferring schools?" Gong Ruini knew Gong Tao was probably unhappy with the school, but she didn’t expect such an explosive bit of news.
"Transferring schools?" Zhao Guangran was just as shocked, turning green all the way. "Why transfer out of the blue?"
They had been at this school since starting junior high, and he skipped a grade in junior high, meaning they had been studying at this school for three years. Why the sudden change?
Even though he had issues with some people in class, he was really familiar with everything here and didn’t need to adapt to a new environment again.
But changing schools would mean making new friends and understanding the new teachers’ preferences.
Most importantly, Zhao Guangran didn’t know if Cao Na would transfer. If she didn’t leave, he was worried about what might happen in the next two years.
"Reluctant?" Seeing Zhao Guangran’s conflicted expression, Gong Ruini knew it must be because he was reluctant to leave Cao Na.
What an idiot. Wouldn’t they transfer together? As for which school to continue attending, Gong Ruini honestly wasn’t worried.
"Yeah." He couldn’t say tough things or he’d suffer a loss. Right now, Zhao Guangran wasn’t going to act all tough; he knew he had to complain when necessary.
"I understand. Don’t worry, if we really transfer, I’ll talk to Cao Na, but about this semester’s final exams." If they were actually transferring, Cao Na would have to come along.
Would she be willing to leave? Zhao Guangran didn’t think the Cao family would agree. "There are a lot of families with status in this school."
Of course, Gong Ruini knew that. "If I leave, you leave, do you think Cao Na would stay?"
"Even if you don’t leave, do you think you’ll be willing to stay seeing those people’s faces?" Gong Ruini bet that Zhao Guangran absolutely couldn’t stand looking at those people.
Isn’t that obvious, "I can’t stand them." Just thinking about their faces made Zhao Guangran angry. "If it weren’t for Nana today, I would’ve taken them on already."
"Ni Zi, let’s work hard. After we transfer, we have to strive to be the top scorers in the college entrance exams. You’re in sciences, Nana’s in humanities." Hmph, they won’t leave those people any way out.
Well, that’s a good thought. Gong Ruini had thought about working hard to become the top, but she hadn’t considered whether in sciences or humanities.
Unexpectedly, Zhao Guangran had already planned it out, but it was a good plan. If Cao Na worked hard, aiming to be the top in humanities, though challenging, wasn’t impossible.
"That would really piss those people off." Even if they forced them away, acing the college entrance exams would really make them mad.
"Make who mad?" Gong Tao watched the two kids discuss after hearing their suggestion, but they hadn’t given an answer yet, making him anxious.
Gong Tao knew that forcing Gong Ruini and the others to suddenly change environments wasn’t something they wanted, and maybe they’d think it was cowardly and insist on fighting to the last moment.
"Ah, you scared me, Uncle." Zhao Guangran never thought Cai Ming would do such a thing; it was truly incredible.
"I was saying that Ni Zi must aim to be the top in sciences."
"And Nana should aim to be the top in humanities, to spite our former classmates."
As soon as they said that, Gong Tao and the others understood their stance, but they also heard some incredible news.
"Guangran, why aren’t you working hard to be at the top?"
"Exactly, first it’s Gong Ruini, then it’s Cao Na." Zhao Gang didn’t understand why his son didn’t have any ambition to work hard to be the top for the girl or his future wife. Why wasn’t he saying he’d work hard?
Zhao Gang didn’t understand why his second son was so laid-back. Actually, it wasn’t laziness, more that he couldn’t be analyzed with common sense.
For most guys, knowing your girl and future wife were so capable and impressive might make you feel insecure, but he just doesn’t think like that.
"Didn’t I learn it from you, Dad?" Zhao Guangran looked bewildered.
That kid, Zhao Gang was really irritated by his stupid son. How could he say something so silly without considering that his dad was also working hard?
"Dad, don’t worry." Of course, Zhao Guangran wasn’t going to tell his dad that he wasn’t aiming to be the top because he didn’t want to get too exhausted. If he had the time, he’d rather think about how to make money.
Sigh, the business at the Hong Kong style tea restaurant wasn’t as booming as before, which really got to Zhao Guangran.
Although they had already made back the initial investment, earning more would still be nice.
Well, this brat seemed to have it figured out, so Zhao Gang didn’t say more, to avoid any dissatisfaction.
However, given how his son was upset with him, Zhao Gang pointed out, "You can transfer, but what about Cao Na?"
Expecting him to communicate with the Cao family, Zhao Gang wanted his son to sincerely apologize, otherwise he thought his son was too easy to bully.
"Ni Zi will talk to Na Na." Hmph, thinking they could trouble him without Ni Zi’s stance, he could be this smug.
It’s infuriating how having a son only meant endless headaches and frustration to the point of anger.
"Ni Zi, why did you agree so readily?" Zhao Gang didn’t understand why Gong Ruini agreed so quickly without giving him a bit of trouble.
"Because we have a common goal."
A common goal, but best not to ask. There were only two possible outcomes anyway, and asking would yield nothing new.
"Have you considered which school you’ll attend?" Zhao Gang wasn’t planning to decide for Zhao Guangran and friends.
Since both were strong-willed people, they could slowly discuss it among themselves, saving them from making a decision and being unhappy later.
In other families, adults would decide, but here, children had the control. Otherwise, any regrets would mean endless fussing.
Isn’t that obvious? Zhao Guangran had already checked, "Fourth Middle School."
Oh really, that school? Zhao Gang had heard a bit about it, "It’s not too great, is it?"
While it was a decent school, it wasn’t among the best. He really didn’t understand why they were willing to go there.
"It’s close to home." Zhao Guangran thought, is this reason even something to think about?
Not this reason again. Sigh, Zhao Gang knew he couldn’t overestimate them, not thinking of any other reason.
"Fine." Anyway, it was just about finding a place that would accept them. With Zhao Xuran around, Zhao Gang wasn’t worried they wouldn’t achieve good scores.
Gong Ruini snickered internally, wondering if Chu Jianbo and the others would be livid if they found out their candidate for the college entrance exam top score was going to Fourth Middle School.
But that’s their problem; there’s no pity to be spared.
